The customer service is professional.
You get either a direct price, or estimate on the costs involved with your vehicle. Maz, the owner, later calls you to give you an update on the repairs in progress and if you allow the costs incurred, very trustworthy.
I am happy to have found this place, reasonable pricing, and you can sense they are not trying to gouge you as many others do. Bravo!

I've had a couple services done here, and am very happy with the work they have done on my car.

Their oil changes are done quickly and at half the price of competitors(~$30)!
I do wish they were open a bit later, but for the price and service they offer, I'm more than happy to accommodate! Their waiting room is comfortable and cool, perfect on a humid summer day.

Discount Auto is located just next to Venables on Clark. An easy walk up to Commercial where you can pass a few hours watching soccer, having a meal or just taking in the sights! Just around the corner from the shop are a handful of local craft breweries as well.

I would happily trust Discount Auto Repair with any of my car maintenance going forward.

Maz took my call earlier in the day and gave me a quote for having a full break flush on my 2006 Honda CR-V ($89).

I inquired about how long the service would take as I was going to be stranded in East Van. I was told for sure by 4PM it would be done, but they'd see if they could get me done sooner.

I hung out in the lobby, mask on, and was out of there in just over an hour!

To top it all off, I was tired as fuck when I left and I ended up forgetting my backpack. I called to double check, and they said it was there any they would place it behind the counter for me till I stopped by to get it.

Highly recommend! I will be coming back here for regular service.

They took off my good tire which I had just purchased, and put on a broken one? It took me a while to figure it out, but I did. Then they tried to get me arrested?

Be careful.

Simply the best mechanic I've ever had.

Picked up a used car a couple months back that had been sitting in a driveway for a decade. Which means I had to do ten years of maintenance right away. First trip here was a lose windsheild wiper that I didn't have a socket wrench that could reach it. Maz (the owner) came out, fixed it up without any sort of wait and refused to take any payment.

I had a list of work I needed done, for the first while I called multiple places to get a quote, and Maz was always the cheapest.

Oil change. The quick and the cheapest in town.

Transmission Fluid change. Again, quick and cheap!

New tires. I couldn't believe the price. Cheaper then all the chains by a long shot. He noticed what had been causing the grinding while I drive while doing this and took care of that as well, cheaper then anyone else.

Spark Plugs. Still cheaper then anyone I could find, and he knew I needed the car for the weekend and managed to get it done right away.

Timing Belt. Cheaper then anyone I could find.

During all of this, he never once tried to push a repair I didn't need. I even gave him an blank cheque when I asked him to take a look and see if there's any other repairs he could think of doing. Without hesitation he told me "nope, save your money". I worked with some mechanics in town who used to show off how they could milk money out of people who said that. Not Maz! Friendly, easy going and just plain great. Took what I thought might have been a lemon and fixed everything up perfect.

Happy to finally find a mechanic I can trust!

After so many bad experiences with other auto-services I was happy to come across the discount auto repair. Service is very friendly and fast (if you come early). They stand behind their work, so if you are not happy just come back and they are happy to make adjustments. I had my clutch adjusted after they done some repair work simply because I preferred it lower and they did it right away at no extra charge.
I've been taking my car here for a regular maintenance for some time and I thought I'm finally due to write them a review.
Prices are great, so you should give them a try, especially if you are having hard time finding someone who will do an excellent job.

Freaking love this place! In addition to their amazing knowledge and customer service there's Maz, the manager (and owner too I think), who's a super straight-up kind of person. He'll tell me when I'm wasting my money and when I'm investing it, etc. Everything is very fairly priced, quotes are bang-on (excludes tax), and they usually cut me deals wherever they can. They're great too if you're in a bind and they're booked up- they can often take your car in the morning-of or night before and find a spot to squeeze you in at some point in a day. I'll be going here for as long as I live in Vancouver and you should too!

Simply put, these guys are the best. Maz the owner is a guy you can trust. I've been coming here for years and I finally decided to write a review. I basically give him an open check to solve a problem and he comes back with diagnosis and high quality work for a very honest price. I have never been disappointed. Don't waste you time and money with dealerships, Discount Auto Repair is the place.

5 star service. The cheapest price in the city for an oil change. Very happy with the servicemanship. They were fast l, easy to deal with. Best part of all was the price for the oil change was the lowest i have paid for in Vancouver.

Will be coming back for sure.

Cheapest oil change. These guys are very helpful technicians. The job was done to perfection. From now on this is the Mechanic shop i will come too in Vancouver.

If you are looking for great reliable service I highly recommend discount auto. The guys there even took out the garbage I had in my car. On Farwell the technician explained what they did. Also what I have to do to keep my car running in top shape.
