DOC Stitches

i purchased a Singer 401A from Ebay that arrived damaged and not stitching. I brought it to Doc Stitches and he fixed the machine like new. His communication was excellent. He really knows his machines. The machine was also fixed in a timely manner.

What I liked: convenient location and hours, pleasant people, competent service

What I didn't like: high price, scare tactics about a minor issue, mixing religion with business

I paid $185 for a routine cleaning/service on my domestic sewing machine. That is double what another shop (in San Jose) charges for the same service, and there was no mention of God.

I wish them well; I just won't go back.

Doc Stitches is knowledgeable and thorough with his servicing and repair of my Singer sewing machine. He explained features of the machine that weren't in the service manual and gave me tips to keep it running at top performance.
I am grateful for his expertise, patience and promptness.

This guy cost me hundreds of dollars lost by telling my customer her Bernina 930 record needed a clutch and it would cost $500-$600. I happen to have a freind that is a Bernina tech . Thats all he fixes told me that all the Bernina 930 record models clunk. This not only cost me the sale but lost money in shipping fees as well. The clutch is mainly only a few parts made of plastic behind the hand wheel and would only take 1-hour at the most to replace. Also there are no new genuine Bernina clutches to be bought to install. So basicly you would be paying big money to replace a used part with another used part.I say to you stick to your Singers because you don,t know crap about a Bernina 930 record.

Pro-trump and proselytizes evangelical Christianity. Also mansplains, all nopes for me. Knowledgeable nonetheless, repaired my machine for what is a normal price these days, meaning not inexpensive. I'll be taking any future business elsewhere.

Didn't use them because they don't repair dryers but they gave me a referral which was very helpful.

Definitely recommend. Sweet couple who run the small business. They were thorough and clear with communication regarding what my machine needed AND they helped educate me and give me tips on future use.
Whatever I need for help with my machine in the future I will definitely be going back to DOC Stitches.
