Soooo delicious and amazing. The food is amazingly priced, and the cocktails are so cheap for the area. Everything was so fresh and authentic, the space was open and airy, and the staff is so kind and friendly. Would definitely recommend Don Pisto's to anyone!!

Came here for a nice Sunday brunch w my friends before heading to the north beach festival!
We waited about 15 min before we got seated and some of my group got the bottomless mimosas/sangrias. I had been drinking several days before so I'm proud of myself for not opting in for that option!
We got guac and chips / salsa (not pictured) to share as apps and also got a French toast to share since it smelled so good when it came for the table next to us. The service was good and they played loud music inside so it was kinda hard to hear over conversations.
I ordered the huevos rancheros and it was amazing with crispy potatoes, gooey egg, and flavorful meat.
I'm sad they're closing otherwise I'd love to come backHelpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 62246413May 27, 2023
This place is always on lists for bottomless brunches so I thought I would check it out one weekend. The salsa was actually fantastic, but the rest of the food was just fine. The server raved about the breakfast burrito but it didn't seem special to me. The huevos rancheros similarly lacked any character. The potatoes were quite good though. Very garlicky and crispy. Quite limited brunch menu opting to serve their regular food plus maybe 4 dishes. Would love to see a little more variety if the focus is brunch and make a whole dish out of those potatoes. They really are tasty.

I've always loved coming here. I was a little sad to see that their menu changed a bit from a couple years ago- I was really looking forward to having their octopus again, but they don't offer it anymore but once I sat down and started eating I realized I wasn't disappointed at all. It's fairly small on the inside, although I think they have more seating for special events downstairs. The lighting is dim and romantic with great music.
The food is always amazing. We got the diablo prawns, the ceviche, carne asada and Mexican sashimi with a side of rice and margaritas. I always go for the hibiscus margaritas, but I've heard their guava is fire too. The chips are fresh, they're really good about refills and the salsa is refreshing and spicy. My favorite dish is probably the carne asada- the tortillas are to die for, super buttery and flavorful. It comes with beans anf guacamole.
The service was amazing too. We actually tried to order the rice and beans ahead of time, but the server told us that one of our dishes comes with rice so he just brought us rice and beans prior to our carne asada so we wouldn't end up with two orders of beans.
This is a great place to get a pitcher of margaritas for a small group gathering or date. I absolutely love this place, I'd recommend this to anyone looking for higher end Mexican food.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 2 - 467156176Aug 14, 2022
I've been here several times and my go to is the baja fish burrito. I think about it so often and have such a strong craving for it. You just have to give it a try to get it.
I've also had the Hibiscus Margarita which was both aesthetic and yummy. Chips and guac were a great starter. But the carnitas tacos were just okay in my opinion. I've definitely had much better carnitas elsewhere so I wouldn't really recommend.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - May 22, 2022
Came here for Mother's Day brunch and we had a fun time! The ambience is chill but just lively enough. We had made a reservation, but think it could be tough to get in without one, thiugh have a decent amount of seating indoors and outdoors.
We started off with the Tortilla Soup, which really hit the spot for its great flavor with chicken. Their complimentary chips and salsa were good, and we probably ate way too much of them. I got the Al Pastor Tacos as my entree, and it was just alright. I was hoping it would come with some beans or rice or another side, but it was just the tacos. A few of us got tacos, but I don't think any of us were too impressed, to be honest, We all got some of the Sourdough French Toast for the table, and this was probably my favorite thing. Not too egg-y or too sweet.
The strange thing is thath they don't serve coffee or orange juice here? I feel like those are such staples for brunch, so that was a bit confusing. One of us actually had to go grab coffee for us at a coffee shop nearby, which wasn't ideal.Helpful 8Thanks 0Love this 6Oh no 0 - May 22, 2022
Came here for my birthday and really enjoyed the experience!
We got our own table in the back of the dining hall so it felt really like exclusive seating - and when you show up they always have complimentary chips and salsa which is super nice.
Good:
I enjoyed the margaritas here a lot and they were almost non-alcoholic tasting so it was a great taste.
I loved the tacos here - the fish taco was the clear standpoint - a great mix of savory and just the right amount of crunch.
Bad:
I thought that the huevos rancheros weren't that special - it was a little dry actually.
There was also a beef stew that I felt was a bit too spicy.
Overall a fun birthday brunch experience, maybe next time I'll try the bottomless experience.Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - 643761276Mar 14, 2023
After a long flight, we were hungry and wanted to try the famous burritos at Bodega. We got to Bodega and they were closed. We stumbled upon Don Pistos while walking. We were given a table right away and the server was efficient. We ordered two baja fish burritos which were HUGE! There's a lot of meat in the burrito and I really liked the cabbage in it. We ended up saving our halves for the next day. Our food came with complimentary salsa verde which was great and some chips.

On a trip to SF, my girlfriends and I wanted to try this place out bc I had heard they have bottomless mimosas.
For $33 per person, you get 90 minutes of bottomless mimosas (they give you the bottle of Brut champagne and you mix yourself!). You can mix and match between mimosas, sangrias, and Modelo cans. 10/10
For food, I went with the Baja Fish tacos. These were huge pieces of battered fish with cabbage and a cream sauce on top with pico. Could have been saucier, imo. 9/10
My girlfriends got the huervos rancheros and the pollo burrito and loved their meals too! Oh and they give you free chips with a green salsa and omg they were so delicious! The vibe was super chill, they placed great music (early 2000s hip-hop), the waiters were super friendly. Would highly recommend!Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 15, 2022
Really good, quality food.
I enjoyed their tacos dorados (fried tacos) and the green house salsa made with Serrano. It was super refreshing and spicy, and their homemade tortilla chips are wonderfully crunchy and fresh.
Their burrito keeps well and is packed with great ingredients. Their street corn is good, but I think they can pack more seasoning on it to make it more flavourful.
For their cocktails, they're a bit pricy but they have a decent amount of alcohol. The paloma and the margaritas are good, and I'm very curious about their bottomless brunch.
Service-- it's fine. The servers check up on you frequently enough to make sure you have enough drinks and food. I wouldn't say it's exceptional, but it's above average. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a good time with friends or for some delicious Mexican food alone.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
