Done Today by CJ

I contacted CJ for some exterior repairs to my stucco and termite damaged wood and trim. What an extremely friendly person and very knowledgable, nothing seemed to give him pause, he was able to do everything I requested. The wood post that was damaged at the bottom had been routed along the edges, which he was able to duplicate without hesitation.

He actually came in at less than his quote because the supplies were less than he anticipated and he doesn't mark up supplies, who does this?!! Ordinarily you pay an extra percentage on supplies.

CJ is not only honest (rare these days and I speak from experience on this), and personable, but he has integrity about his work as well, he makes sure it is done to your satisfaction. I highly recommend him without hesitation.

If it's CJ doing the work, then you're probably ok. If it's his guys, then good luck, CJ will probably have to come back and fix most of what they did. One of the things he was contracted to fix was a repairing a kitchen cabinet door. While I wasn't specific on the method to fix, he did get the door back in place so I guess he did what I asked. But, I didn't like how it was done because the hardware inside now looks like a Frankenstein. Also noticed some scratches on that particular door.

CJ was prompt and right on time for our scheduled appointment. It was raining the day he came by & I really appreciated that he wiped off the bottom of his shoes with a towel to ensure no water, dirt or grass entered the house.

I needed an installation of hanging floating shelves, fixing a door and hanging up a tv onto the wall. For the quote I was given, the value was extremely fair & plan to reach out to him in the future when I have more projects that need to be completed.

Lastly, after he completed the job, he vacuumed up any drywall or messes that were made prior to him leaving. Thank you again CJ!

This is not the normal review of a man's accomplishments. This is a commentary on the humanity of a man. As a kid who grew up in a construction family, with contractors all around me all the time, I've witnessed the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly--all within my own family. And I have worked for them all.
My family mostly did spec houses and new construction. So we never had to develop skills and embrace an empathy to accommodate people being removed from their homes when their homes were sold to a developer.
C.J has the skills, but more importantly, he is a genuine caring human being.
Portfolios of past projects and pictures of progress will say certain things about a man's abilities, but you have to meet CJ to understand real character.
You can't go wrong hiring him and his crew.
With CJ on the job, you can relax.

I sent a note to the company through Yelp and got a very quick reply. CJ was able to send out Norberto that morning to fix our pocket door. Norberto went to work immediately, was professional, efficient, courteous, communicative and my door was back on track in less than an hour. He even cleaned up smudges on the door (that were probably from us.). This is a fabulous company to work with and I will definitely use them again.

I've never left a 2 star review , but felt this was necessary . I booked Cj for a small tile job on a Monday for the immediate Friday . His guy came and looked at the job and left and I never got a call . After several attempts his employee explain they couldn't find an exact match .

Prior to this I explain to Cj the tile didn't have to match perfect but as long as it was Waterproof and install right this was acceptable .

Next I receive a message from Cj saying he lost money looking for the tile . But it was in the quote for him to swap the tile so he was being compensated for that , so this was his excuse for not returning ? However a simple phone called would have sufficed and I would have re-iterated the tile did not need to match perfectly . Just needed to be installed correctly . Then tells me I have to find the tile and can't come back for another 3 days .

I have apts and now I've lost money waiting 2 hours for his guy to return , never to come back ...

I feel the value of this reviews reflects poor communication , and a vague quote . Saying he would get the tile , then not ...

I really hope this criticism helps because it's unfortunate I had a bad experience.

We had a lot of damage around the house from getting our dining room, bedrooms, etc., jackhammered to replace our 51 year old drain pipes. The plumbers left concrete patches over the dirt in the holes they dug in the slab. They tore up tiles in the dining room, engineered wood in the bedroom, and left a lot of holes in the drywall. We had matching tile, and we had extra engineered wood, so he just had to come and install that and repair the various holes in the drywall.

CJ judged the price based on the pictures I sent him (they were good pictures!), and gave me a price that was less than a third of the estimates I had gotten so far (one came in later that he was less than 2/5 of). Given the lowball estimate he gave me, I suggested he should come and actually look at the job. He came and confirmed the estimate - he said he might go a bit over, but he started work that morning, and was done by the next morning.

He and his crew were very careful to keep everything neat - they put down cloth and paper where they were going to be walking, they set up barriers to keep dust contained, and they cleaned up after themselves. It turned out I had fewer tiles than I thought - I had 8 and we needed nine, but he was creative and moved a chipped tile to where it didn't need a whole tile and made it work. The only reason they didn't finish in a day was because of the lousy way the plumbers had poured the concrete; it needed a lot of grinding down to level it.

They did a beautiful job, and the bill came in at the price he quoted plus materials and replacing two toilet valves that were leaking (which weren't in the list of things needing repair), so it was 17% over the estimate. He had warned me it might be a bit more - which worried me a bit, but the price was still really low and fair; I needn't have worried.

I would highly recommend CJ and his crew. They were very professional, and the price was great! I will definitely hire him again for my next job!

Done Today by CJ did a fantastic job on our bathroom remodel. They demo'ed, took it down to the studs, and remade everything above and beyond our expectations. Chris and Stevie were very professional, on time every day, and cleaned up before they left. We especially appreciated that Chris knew how to do everything -- plumbing, tiling, custom cabinet building, etc. -- which helped the project go quickly. From start to finish, the team was done in 12 business days. We were very impressed! Done Today by CJ was also the most affordable and responsive of all the companies we got quotes from. We highly, highly recommend!

Responsive and professional, I highly recommend working with CJ. He helped quickly resolve a stressful electrical issue in my home.

CJ and his team were so awesome! They did a little master bath remodel for us and installed a new double vanity, recessed medicine cabinets and new light fixtures, requiring light plumbing & electrical work. The crew showed up on time, were a pleasure to have around and did excellent work. We are so happy with the outcome. They also had a can-do approach to their work when the project ended up being more work than originally anticipated. We will definitely be hiring them again for any work we need done around the house!
