Downtown Subaru of Oakland-Sales

Went in today to test drive a couple of cars. Salesperson at Oakland Subaru wanted a commitment to buy a car before showing or testing multiple cars. We make no commitment until we see and test the cars.

Left after 5 minutes with the salesman. Went to a different dealership and new car from that dealership in about 2 hours after we left Oakland dealership. It was such a different experience at the other Subaru dealership.

Stopped by Subaru with hubby today and was helped by Omari as our Sakes and Abdul our Finance person. Both were so helpful and easy to work with. Omari showed us various models and let us take our time in making a decision. Abdul clearly explained the finances and different plans and worked with us to make it work within our budget. Top notch service, I highly recommend!

I received a phone call from them saying they desperately needed used cars and wanted to give me a good deal on my car. I showed up and of course they take a look at your car and give you an estimated value, which wasn't near what I wanted, or what Carvana said my car was worth. I asked about buying a new car and they rolled out the same CrossTrek I already had for a ridiculous price. I said no thanks and left.
I went to One Subaru of Hayward and they were amazing! Not only did they give me MORE than the Carvana estimate, but I upgraded to a CrossTrek Sport for the same price that Oakland Subaru wanted for a CrossTrek limited.
Stay away from these people, between the sketchy service department and crooked salespeople, they aren't even worth looking at. Go to Hayward!

hi , i am vanessa and i buy a car from a sell person name lorena yesterday july 15th , her offer was totally different after i sign the contract, i sign 12 times with out knowing what i was signing and they provide me the contract only until i got home with the sell lady , now that i read the contract i try to cancel my contract because is not what i got in my budget at the beginning and with the sell person, PLEASE DONT BUY YOU CAR FROM THIS DEALER they tricked you in order to sell the car and read all you documents you sign in

Gotta give five stars to the sales team at Downtown Subaru of Oakland. Faisal, Marlon, Derrick and Brandon were my primary contacts when I came in to buy a new Forester. Each of them extended a warm welcome and took care of me in a low-pressure, friendly way.
If you're in the market for a Subaru, I would definitely recommend this dealership for their courtesy and for a great deal.

Worst Subaru dealer in the Bay. Very rude with nearly every interaction. First they wouldn't confirm inventory or prices over the phone (website sucks when you want specific details). Second, they no-showed our appointment. Third we were told over the phone to ask for the manager when we arrived; we showed up and were told we could not speak with the manager (???).

We spoke with a couple different people there on different days and they consistently wouldn't say anything useful to us without a sit-down in-person to go over prices and options.

Other Subaru dealerships in the area will gladly listen to your requirements, send you an email with options, and even provide a quote over email after chatting over the phone or texting.

This dealership is the reason car salesmen are known as sleazy and deceitful.

Avoid this place at all costs. This place is as dishonest as they come. I strongly regret making a purchase from them two weeks ago, not just because I overpaid which was my fault, but also because of the following:

First and foremost, they did not disclose that the car had previously backed into something. It was listed as having no accidents. But there's a problem now that I have to do deal with. Plus I keep discovering more and more dents and scratches in places less visible.

Second, they will try to sell you a whole bunch of add ons, which obviously you shouldn't accept. I rejected all except one because they told me that it would lower my insurance cost, and that they had already installed it in the car. I called my insurance company after the purchase and they told me what the dealer said about my insurance cost being reduced is not true and does not apply in California.

Third, by law in California they are supposed to give you the option to cancel a purchase for 2 days and MUST ALLOW for 250 miles. This dealer did give me the option to buy a cancel purchase contract, however, it was for MUCH LESS than 250 miles, it was for 99 miles. I didn't buy the option because I drove about 112 miles to get to dealer and their option to cancel contract was less than 100 miles so by the time I got home it wouldn't have mattered. I didn't know the law required 250 miles and the dealer didn't abide by this law.

Forth, if there's anything left do with, paperwork, etc, afterwards, the service is ZERO.

And lastly (not that important but) they don't even bother to sell you a clean car. When I (regrettably) decided to buy the car, they said they will take to be detailed. They gave it a wash but it was not a detail. I have had to clean the car myself.
Overall, terrible experience with this dealership.

There's nothing more exceptional that going to a dealership and having an employee meet all the needs of a buyer! Lori was quick, smart, and accommodating! My car needs were met and I was overjoyed to have her assist me. Will definitely recommend to anyone looking for a car

I came here to look at a specific car I found online. I told the sales representative I wanted to "look at the vehicle I saw online " and he responded "you came in here to look or are you going to actually do something". Ooooof. Not a horrible experience by any means, I just didn't like the situation. Being in sales myself I just want someone genuinely interested in helping me make the right decision. No tricks, no tactics, just straightforward.
