Downtown Walnut Creek Hardware

I like this Ace, the paint selection is good and they have a ton of stuff from garden to household to hardware. The staff is helpful and kind. I don't love all the smelly fragrance stuff in the middle of the store, but I'm sure some people are into it. They have some home decor items so this is a good place to get a gift if needed. The only downside (one star off) is that the plants I got here didn't do so well and I have a green thumb. I think they may have had a disease and I don't feel like bringing them back to complain tbh. The plants are also a bit pricy. It's a good Ace for the area.

They are SO kind and helpful. Sonia was particularly friendly, patient and competent with me today as I needed very basic guidance on replacing stroller parts.

Victoria in the battery/key fob department is so amazing! She quickly helped me change the battery in my key fob (fyi, they don't do programming/replacements for Toyota Prius 2005-2009).

I don't live in the immediate area, so I called ahead. The staff was really nice both on the phone and in person.

Always a good selection, their 'grilling area' is REALLY well stocked in the Summer, but still has a decent selection in Winter.
As for hardware stores, super spread of regular stuff, and lots of eclectic non-hardware stuff. And the garden area is great, too

Ken helped me buy a grill today.
He was patient and knowledgeable about all of the grills.
I told him what I was looking for. He quickly narrowed down my choices and within minutes I was happily paying for my Spirit E-210 grill.

Staff is very helpful and always super nice - The last couple of times that I've been in Travis has helped me and he was awesome!! I will keep coming back for the amazing customer service

My favorite Ace in the Bay Area! All the staff are helpful, knowledgeable and great at checking in on you. They have a good selection of product, a lovely garden section and I always feel like I find what I need.

I was there this morning and I had a very unpleasant experience, I was looking for a drill auger and this associate ( short guy at garden department) was impatient and rude.
I got there and this guy ( short guy)was talking with another associate "I think" I said good morning and I noticed right away this short guy was annoyed because I asked about the part I was looking for, he didn't say good morning back also.
He took for ever to find it "sort of ",he asked on the radio where was it and I think nobody knew.
I was looking for a 24" , 3" wide auger and they only had 12"long .
I said to this guy I checked
the website first and it says you guys have a few available on the store at that point I noticed this guy was irritated with my response, i he said " if you stop talking I will explain".
I used this auger a couple of hours and got bend , it is useless now, for a very overprice tool $50.
Please be aware of this drill auger , it not worth it.
I don't want to waste my time and go back to this store and try to return it.
I writing this review not because the bad quality tool ,it is because the unprofessional, rude and bad customer service or this associate.
I greeted other employees and they were friendly.
Definitely not coming back to this store , next time I'll order what I need though Amazon. I usually do that , I went to this store this morning because I need it for today. :(

CUSTOMER ALWAYS RIGHT

I wanted to replace a part on a mid-century light fixture instead of replacing the whole thing. Stefan found exactly what was needed and even put the new part in, along with a modification. He was helpful, knowledgeable, and pleasant in helping me on my quest.

I've been to this store a number of times even though I live in Oakland. I've always been impressed with the service and products.

Was looking for a special shower stem to no avail at Home Depot and here. The manager was extremely helpful though at finding replacement parts for me.
