Duke's Hardware

I hardly do a review on a hardware store, but this one is over the top that I need to do it since I worked at Nordstrom for quite a few years and know about customer service. I went to this hardware store because I wasn't able to use my paper gift certificate that I purchase through online and went to the one on 3rd Avenue and Clement which was a lot closer to my house because I do not drive. Even though I asked the sales person in the cashier area and even requested for a manager to help me with this gift certificate but they still couldn't do it.

Even though the Noriega store is out of the way. I found the most wonderful person name JP. I even met the store manager today and told him that he should be a All-Star or assistant manager when he is not around.

I came in on the weekend and noticed JP wasn't there so I got three gate keys to be done. I went back home and tried the keys and it did not work so the next Saturday I went back again to the store and JP wasn't there. It turned out to be the same guy that did my keys the first time. I told him maybe you need to do a new set of keys and he looked and looked again. He said I don't think there should be a problem. Let me just change a little bit and let's see if it works. I said it loud and maybe I should come tomorrow on Sunday and he said I'm working. Unfortunately, when I went home, it did not work again. OK this is the guy. I don't wanna deal with.

I told my daughter I need to go back to Ace again because the keys did not work. Can you drive me during the weekday so that maybe that guy is not working and turns out he wasn't working again. It turned out to be JP working and I was overjoyed , he really look at the keys and actually he made all new keys He gave me a Ziploc,of the bad keys and any ziplock of the new keys so I will know which keys to try out.

He went over and beyond and offer the store phone number and told me to call him when I get home to try the keys. If it didn't work, he would give me a refund so I don't have to come back there again to redo the keys. It turned out perfect, that's what you call customer service

Owners were helpful and pleasant and had just what I needed. PLUS they love dogs, complete with treats!

Always excellent service. Much friendlier than the the place on the other side of Sunset. Even though I live closer to that one, I prefer to travel a litttle farther to Duke's. Extensive selection. Everything you want in a neighborhood hardware store.

This place was very organized & provides a whole lot of varieties of choices for tools and utility items, owner is super nice and knows where everything is will point you straight to whatever you're looking for.

When I seek good service the first factor for consideration is quality employees. I'm not a regular at Duke's and based upon my experience today can't believe their ratings.

Yesterday I called to confirm that they had what I needed. Before heading over today I called again to be sure they had not sold out their inventory and was told they had none.

I won't detail my mad rush and agonizing hours in search of something that the employee cavalierly told me was out of stock when it was there all along.

A real bummer; getting stuck in crazy crazy traffic, lost with the loss of navigation, and incredible frustration of wasting my valuable time because of one lazy guy who chose poor service as his default.

Great hardware store with exceptional service.

My kitchen sink was leaking last week due to a broken part so I came here for help. I brought the broken pipe with me and the gentleman working there was extremely patient and helped me figure out which parts to get and even cleaned the nasty pipe for me.

I was really impressed by the level service and was very thankful for the help as I have zero knowledge of these things.

I needed some keys duplicated, and I usually go to a family owned hardware store on Irving St., but remembered how fun parking is there, I had to seek other options. Luckily, I recalled passing by this store. It's only a few minutes away from where I was, I came, found parking right in front and had the coolest people greet me and help me with my needs.

This store has the vibe of a neighborhood business, with a friendly staff, a plethora of household items and good prices on duplicated keys. I went by a couple of more times for more keys and to pick up small items for a remodeling project, and each time the service was consistently good. It's stores likes this that make me feel good about supporting the small local stores. For me, it's easily a 4.5.

Great hardware store. They have all the things I needed for my home improvement projects.

The store needs to improve on customer service time and first come first serve.

Great service from the store clerk. Price is better than the chain store on certain merchandise.

The workers here are very helpful. Really good customer service. They will help you find what you are looking for and they offer helpful feedback for what you are trying to find. If you are in the area and need something from a hardware store, the level of helpful assistance will not disappoint.
