Does your restaurant use any peanuts, peanut oil, or vegetable oil in your cooking? My niece has peanut 🥜 allergy so want to make sure before bringing her to your restaurant.
A:
they do have peanuts in some of their dishes and i wouldn't be surprised if they use peanut oil too. i would highly suggest calling them and asking,

The interior is clean and spacious, and they also have a few round tables for medium-larger sized groups (would estimate that they could each fit ~12 ppl max). Service was efficient, and the food was delicious!!
We got:
SOY MILK (hot) - honestly don't really know how to describe the taste, but would highly recommend; this is the place to try soy milk if you haven't had it before!
PORK XLB - lots of meat + soup in each dumpling and full of flavor! would have been nice to have some ginger on the side though
PORK & CHIVE DUMPLINGS - taste is pretty classic! packed with filling
NOODLES IN BLACK BEAN SAUCE - noodles are thick and chewy, paired with a very generous amount of sauce that's well balanced between sweet and saltyHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Christie N.San Francisco, CA143813Jul 19, 2024
I can't count how many times I've ordered takeout from this place. It's definitely my go-to Chinese spot. My usual order is in the photo and listed below:
-Shanghai-style chow mein: super thick chewy noodles
-Shanghai-style pan-fried pork buns: if you've never had these before, you are in for a treat! They have the slightly crunchy exterior of a regular pan-fried dumpling, and the interior is a partially soupy filling. VERY GOOD. Only downside is that I regularly ask for extra dipping sauce and do not receive it. The dipping sauce containers are also barely filled. I ended up buying my own chinese black vinegar to supplement.
-dry-braised string beans: very garlicky! And good level of firmness.
Other things to note:
-they are WICKED FAST. Usually my order is out the restaurant door in 15-20 min. Great for you hangry people out there.
-ordering is on the ChowNow app. I know it's a drag to download yet another food app, but this one is well worth the download bc the fees are MUCH lower than other apps, at least when you order from Dumpling Kitchen (i think it varies by restaurant? Not sure).Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - Erin F.San Francisco, CA34428Jul 17, 2024
Very nice service, extremely attentive and fast! Food was really good, we ordered:
-pan fried XLB (the standout)
-dry fried green beans (excellent)
-wontons in chili oil (excellent)
-bean thread salad appetizer (meh)
I would say prices are average, after all it is San Francisco. I did like that they offered a cash discount.
We came during the week, around 7pm and were seated right away.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Aug 15, 20241 check-in
It's simple but cozy inside, and the food arrives quickly with friendly service. The vegetarian hot and sour soup is a hit, pork buns packed with flavor as well as the braised tofu. I had to ask for a water refill.

Let's start off by saying the portions are generous, we usually encounter XLBs coming in 8 and not 10, and the beef tripe being a much smaller portion, but they charge around the same compared to other restaurants, which is great!
The food was decent, the XLBs were filled with broth and flavor, and came very hot. The tripe could've been spicier to really bring out the OG flavor, the pan fried pork buns were drier on the inside than I'd like, it lacked broth. The salted egg custard buns were perfect, we tore them in half and the custard was oozing, which is already a way better sign than other restaurants service solid custards.
The service was quick and easy as you'd expect, they were quite busy on the weekend. The inside has tons of seating, and even though the restaurant was full, it didn't feel cramped.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 26067100May 19, 2024
Great food, great service. This place is awesome - came at peak dinner time on a Sunday and they weren't too busy at all. We got seated quickly and they took our order within 5 minutes of sitting down.
Food is good. We got the fish filet in chili oil and it came with a lot. We also got shanghai noodles and those were pretty good and the green beans were solid. The pan fried dumplings were okay - I've had better.
The tables are far apart from each other which makes the restaurant feel roomy and not cramped. Really enjoyed this place overall!Helpful 0Thanks 2Love this 0Oh no 0 - Aug 16, 20241 check-in
San Francisco must have dozens of little hole-in-the-wall Chinese restaurants. I am extremely glad that I stopped in at this one. I was there for a late lunch and was starving. I love trying different dumplings, especially fried potstickers, and these did not disappoint. The person who took my order, an older gentleman who may well have been the owner, nodded approvingly when I also ordered the Dan Dan Noodles. He made sure I was good with spice, told me that he also likes a little bit of spice. I appreciated that he took the time to make sure I understood what I was ordering. It is a small restaurant and I don't recommend you come here for the ambience, but the food was excellent and reasonably priced. I really enjoyed this neighborhood Chinese restaurant.

Dumpling Kitchen is different but still good! Friends ordered delivery for us, and it arrived hot and delicious, so this review will be based on how the food was delivered.
Pan Fried Dumplings: The dumplings are stuffed with juicy pork balls and seared to perfection. The fat from the pork is balanced by dipping it in dark vinegar, creating a delectable and savory dish.
Spicy Dumplings: Served with chili oil and vinegar, these dumplings are simple but delicious. They taste better in-restaurant, however, because the dumpling skins stick together, making it difficult to share.
Mongolian Beef: Fresh vegetables and very tender beef reminded me of how my momma makes it. The sauce was a tad salty, so I suggest pairing this dish with white rice.
Beef Fried Rice: The dish tasted good as far as fried rice goes but nothing stood out.
String Beans: The beans were tender, but good Lord, they were on the salty side. This one would be a pass for me next time, and I would substitute it with another vegetable dish.
Overall, still tasty and Yummy Certified!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Apr 28, 2015Previous reviewThis place is SO GOOD that I don't even know where to begin describing just why this is the BEST dumpling place in the city. Let me give this a try anyways..
This restaurant serves dumplings and its kingdom is the great city of San Francisco. I'd visit Dumpling Kitchen over Shanghai Dumpling King and Kingdom of Dumplings any day of the week (give me a note if there's another dumpling place I should try).
+ Food: The XLB, pan fried buns and green onion pancake are all VERY good. The real must try here is the Egg Puff Doughnuts. HOLY CRAP! These things must be the pride of the Kitchen. I actually ask the waitress to bring those out before any of the other food. I don't mess around with my desserts and I can't have all this delicious chinese food fill up my Egg Puff Doughnut stomach. Order it. You won't regret it.
+ Service: The staff is very nice and the kitchen is very fast. This place can get crazy busy but the servers all keep their cool like real professionals and get people in and out. Props to the team for bringing their A game each and everyday.
+ Experience: The whole experience is just phenomenal. The restaurant is larger than both Shanghai Dumpling King and Kingdom of Dumplings. They can accommodate large groups and I believe they also accept reservations. Parking isn't too bad in the area and also right off the L line.
Absolutely a 5 star establishment. I come here just for those tasty Egg Puffs. Everything else is just a really, really sweet bonus. Their whole menu is really solid. Dumpling Kitchen reigns supreme. I highly recommend a visit to try these mythical Egg Puffs.
