I discovered this place after leaving my surgery center down the street and I couldn't be happier. The food here was absolutely amazing. The soup dumplings I ordered and shared with my friend were exquisite and full of flavor. They popped in your mouth and satisfied exactly as you'd expect from a soup dumpling. Hot, tasty, and juicy, I'd order these again. The mapo tofu I ordered for myself was amazing also, and really hit the spot. If you're a fan of mapo tofu, you should definitely try this.
Service was just fine, about what you'd expect from a busy dumpling or Chinese restaurant. The neighborhood and the restaurant itself were very tidy, and very well kept.
All in all, I'd give this place 6 stars if I could. It was a really serendipitous find today, and I'm glad I had lunch here.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kimi C.San Diego, CA01230Aug 24, 2024
The food was tasty -- flavorful and authentic! my favorite dish was the pan fried noodles, it had just the right amount of crispness and the noodles held the sauce so well. for the XLB, they have a thicker skin/wrapping but still tasty! the chilli wontons didn't have as much "mala" as i was expecting and was more of just "spicy".
The service was fair- they also give discounts to UCSF if they see your badge! Overall, the atmosphere was inviting & food was definitely worth it!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Aug 15, 2024
It's all about the dumplings plus everything else we ordered was delicious.
My 6 year old granddaughter is a soup dumpling addict. She conceded that the dumplings were better than those in San Diego where she lives.
The restaurant is very attractive and the service was attentive.
We ended up ordering beef chow fun in a delicious sauce, Szechuan shrimp( ample amounts of large shrimp in a spicy sauce, pan fried pork dumplings plus 2 orders of Shanghai original soup dumplings.
The tea arrives in a pretty teapot.
The portions were large and our food arrived piping hot and pretty quickly.
Can't wait to try more dishes from their menu. Everything was very fresh.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Aug 22, 2024Seated via Yelp Reservations
overall solid choice for good chinese food. The restaurant has plenty of indoor seating and good service. We ordered the mu shu pork and the kung pao chicken medium. Everything was tasty and fresh. For the two of us it was more than enough food.

Got lunch at yet another one of these places for dumplings. It may be one of the more affordable options in Pacific Heights. Dynasty Dumpling is bigger than it looks with a good sized dining area. Plenty of tables for a crowd. The prices are pretty okay for the amount and how big these are so eat up and get stuffed.
At lunch it was pretty busy. It's annoying but it's a good sign. The dumplings are the main thing. Get a lot for not a lot. It's about $8 for the Vegetable Dumplings, which comes in the basket in which these are steamed. Big green dumplings. These are filling. Looks are deceiving as these are filled up and a few are enough. These have carrots and peas.
Better place among the options for dumplings. It's affordable for how much you get. There's plenty of choices for vegans and vegetarians.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - 66227558Jun 24, 2024Updated review
The most recent time I came to Dynasty Dumpling definitely bumped this place up to 5 stars for me! It was my second time eating in the restaurant, and the service and food were absolutely deserving of the highest praise.
My group of 8 came in on a Friday a little before 8pm and it was really busy inside. Every table was basically full, so we put our number down and went to Scopo Divino across the street to enjoy some wine while we waited. I got a call at 8:30 that our table was ready, so we headed over.
Our waitress was so friendly and welcoming even though we were getting seated within 30 minutes of closing. We ordered walnut prawns, salt and pepper fish, garlic chow mein, veggie fried rice, mapo tofu, cumin lamb, orange chicken, crab and pork xiao long bao, bbq pork buns, pan fried pork buns, and har gow.
The food started coming out shortly after we ordered and everything was piping hot and fresh. The new standout items for me were the garlic chow mein, cumin lamb, and pan fried pork buns, but there was nothing bad to say about any dish.
The garlic noodles came with thick and chewy noodles tossed in a delicious garlic butter sauce, made even better with some of their chili oil. The cumin lamb was sooo tender and flavorful, and went so well with some rice. The pan fried pork buns had a nice thin wrapper, full of juicy meat, and was crispy on the bottom.
I didn't get to try the veggie fried rice and mapo tofu, but they got good reviews. The dim sum was pretty good too, my fav being the flavor of the soup in the crab and pork xiao long bao. We had a vegetarian and pescetarian in our group, and there were good options for both of them. The house cold sake was easy to drink and went well with the fried and spicier dishes.
Huge shoutout to the restaurant for staying open until almost 10pm for us, we were so thankful that we got to enjoy our meal and we weren't rushed out. It was some of my friends' first time coming to visit and I'm so happy I got to share this neighborhood spot with them! :DHelpful 2Thanks 2Love this 3Oh no 1Feb 12, 2024Previous reviewAfter a long day of moving, my boyfriend and I decided to grab dinner from Dynasty Dumpling and we were so happy to have found this spot. We ordered the spring rolls, shrimp fried rice, vegetable chow fun, and the mapo tofu with a side of rice. It was ready in about 15 minutes, which was good because we were starving. It came out to about $70 but we had a lot of leftovers since the take-out portions were very generous. The spring rolls were fried perfectly and had a flavorful veggie and tofu filling, no need for sauce. The shrimp fried rice came with a lot of shrimp, and I adjusted to my taste with a packet of soy sauce and sriracha. The mapo tofu might have been my favorite thing we ordered, it was so flavorful with a touch of sichuan spiciness, full of soft silky tofu, and delicious sauce to go with white rice. This one comes vegetarian, but I was not missing the meat in this dish. The veggie chow fun was okay, decent amount of veggies like bok choy, sugar peas, zucchini, and carrots. I added sriracha for more flavor, but it was lacking wok hei. Overall, this is a solid spot for takeout, and I'd definitely like to dine in at some point.

Came here on a Saturday night for dinner. We did not have to wait, but the restaurant eventually filled up and had a bit of a wait as the night went on.
XLB - 4/5. I am usually not the biggest fan of XLB, but I liked theirs here. Mine was not super hot like XLB normally is; this could be a good or bad thing depending on how you like your XLB.
Dry braised seasonal beans - 4/5. Solid vegetable dish, but this dish was actually quite spicy! If you can't handle spice, you should just get the garlic beans option.
Pan fried pork buns - 5/5. This is my favorite dumpling over XLB, and this place does it really well. I really liked this dish.
Dry fried chicken wings - 3/5. They gave a LOT of wings, which was good! The taste and the friedness on the chicken was just okay though. Other places make better versions of this dish.
Beef roll - 3/5. I liked the pancake on this roll, but I did not like how the beef was a bit cold?? I would have preferred if the beef was warm too, but the vegetables inside like the cucumber were cold.
Parking is street parking only. It could get difficult in that area, but people come and go in that area pretty often.
Overall, a good Chinese/dumpling place in SF. Not the best, but it compares to the other "top" dumpling spots in SF.Helpful 1Thanks 2Love this 1Oh no 0 - Pickle R.San Francisco, CA372806116Aug 18, 2024
This place was packed at noon on a Sunday, it was pleasant to see. I use to come here when the old couple ran the restaurant with their son in his free time. I was hoping to see them behind the remodeling, since I would always order two dishes here. Alas I did not see them, so I placed my to go order, and patiently waited outside, the waiter brought it out to me within ten minutes. The Singapore style noodles is as good as the old restaurant, even without the MSG. I hope the former owners of this place are finally enjoying their retirement.

The place definitely hits the cozy aspect. The place was not too loud, the service was to the point but good. The custard bun was good (extremely soft), the spicy xlb was decent, and the crystal shrimp was amazing. As dumpling places in sf goes, this is definitely top 10 (maybe even top 5) overall.
The only caveat is the service is a bit slow and I wish the spicy stuff was spicier :)Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Rcd M.Sacramento, CA6441351968Aug 2, 20241 check-in
We were greeted once we walked in the door.. the food was amazing good.. the chow Mein wasn't too greasy... The Orange Chicken had good flavor.. and the Pork XLB had juice but not enough juice at a less, that what I think.. but my little munchkin she loved every bit of it. Inside was not big nice little ambiance and not so crowded.. Food came out fast just we two 2 server at the time that we went. "well till next time, my food lover till next time."
