Authentic Chinese cuisines - specialty roasted fish is so delicious and satisfying, definitely a must-have! Braised meat is another specialty, flavorful and hearty. Staff is friendly auntie style, loves sharing and recommending. A lovely experience overall.

      Awesome execution.

The signature Boiled Fresh Fish in Green Pepper Sauce was beyond our expectation. The homemade broth was slightly tangy, thick, spicy, had deep flavor and was extraordinary and memorable. The owner mentioned that her husband prepared the broth. Fish was tender (we did not order the live version).

Eggplant with string bean in Lao Gan Ma sauce was the best eggplant dishes i've tasted. The eggplant was beautifully sauteed to a delightful crisp (almost tasted like meat) and quite addictive.

Crispy spring roll was good with the accompanied plum sauce. Service was prompt and friendly.

Time: around 3pm as no one else at the restaurant. We are the only guests.
Food: not good at all. The chicken claimed to be "走地鸡" which is free range, tastier, and more expensive, but it's just normal chicken. The dry pot is cold and the waitress isn't happy when we ask for more fire to heat up the chicken.
Service: forget our order, and when we asked for the check and refused to pay, the waitress refused and rush to kitchen to avoid the conversation and come back with the food.
Ambiance: door is open on a busy street, and flies flying around

I would not comeback but I would recommend it to people I don't like.

Came in on Friday night and it was just us in the restaurant. Their Tsingtao beer goes for 9?! Server was really nice albeit his 2nd day on the job.

Gizzards taste like the Chinese cold meat served at restaurants but with a good kick. 2.5/5

Ginger scallion chicken: looks nothing like the picture. Completely difference sauce but nonetheless was surprised that it still tasted delicious. 3.5/5

Dan Dan noodles: delicious with that numbing Szechuan. Needs more meat but the noodles were perfects 4/5

Not bad of a restaurant if you want to try something new and support the locals!

Food was great. They're known for their spicy grilled fish and it did not disappoint. I'm not a big fan of mala but this fish was so well-cooked the mala flavor really didn't bother me and in fact I quite enjoyed the taste with the savoriness of the fish. Unfortunately my spice tolerance is not that high so I could not eat a lot without my mouth dying but I still enjoyed it (and I think they allow you to adjust the spiciness so you can get it less spicy). But I really liked their salted egg and shrimp dish. Very flavorful. Also I liked their griddle cooked cabbage. It was very savory. Their cumin lamb tasted great, but I wish it had more lamb pieces. There were a lot of onion pieces (which I still liked and were very flavorful).

Service was good as well. They only had 2 people working on the day we came (Sunday evening), yet the food came out in a timely manner. And they got me a spoon when I requested one, which I appreciate.

The restaurant interior is nicely decorated with traditional Chinese pieces on the walls, which makes you feel like you are back in a royal Chinese courtyard.

We parked in a small lot nearby. There is also street parking as well.

Came here at an odd hour with a group of 6 and the people who run the place were nice enough to seat and serve us while the restaurant was basically resting (we can at 3:00pm).

We ordered 5 entrees, 2 veggies, salted egg yolk shrimp, cumin lamb and the signature fish. Everything was super tasty and came out super fast despite just the owner and her husband working! Would definitely order the cabbage, lamb and fish again, and would want to try other stuff next time. Overall really recommend this place for an authentic Chinese food group experience!

Tl;dr - if you like fish, get their Szechuan fried fish. Be warned they don't mess around with their mala spice.

Came here on a Friday night close-ish to closing time. Got seated pretty quickly. What we got:

      - Golden sesame cake: consider getting this as an appetizer!! These remind me a bit of scallion pancakes cause the inside has layers with bits of green onion inside. The outside is a bit crunchy and loaded with sesame seeds.
      - Scallion and ginger cold noodles: another delish appetizer option with the perfect marriage of green onion and ginger flavors in a light sauce. Noodles weren't necessarily cold though but this didn't detract from the dish
      - Spicy grilled fish: easily the star of the show. They fry a large fish (can't remember what exactly) and drown it in mouth-watering, numbing mala spices and oils. The fish was fried to perfection and I was surprised by how much we really enjoyed this. It was spicy in the moment but I wasn't struggling afterwards.

We ordered the spicy grilled fish, griddle-cooked lotus root, and Jiangxi stir-fried rice noodle. The fish came in three sizes (small, medium, and large), and we wanted to order the small since we were only two people, but they only had the large available. The lotus was only slightly spicy and the noodles were not spicy at all, which made for a good contrast with the fish. We were able to finish the other two dishes and brought half the fish home.

There were only a few other diners there, and at the end we had a very nice chat with the owner.
