If you own an EV this should be your "go to" garage. Forget the dealerships and head straight to Earthling! They have perfected the "no hassle, no b.s." type of service that dealerships should take note of! You can see the estimate the night before, approve it, check in the day of service, know what to expect, get the work done, be NOTIFIED when it's done, PAY before you pick it up....when you arrive to get your vehicle, they go over everything, ask if you have any questions, hand you your keys and away you go!
AND....if you want to wait, they have a great waiting area, free wi-fi, coffee and snacks....This place ROCKS! I AM a bona fide EARTHLING!

Another seamless, positive experience at Earthling! everything was explained to me before during and after and I felt that my 2014 Prius and I are both being well cared for by everyone there.

I've been an Earthling Automotive (EA, formerly Luscious Garage) customer for about a decade since ~2015. I still take my 2005 Prius to EA, which replaced the main battery ~2018 & a stolen catalytic converter ~2021. Last year in 2023, I inherited a 2016 SmartCar, which EA has serviced twice. I previously lived on The Peninsula (Pacifica / SF). Although I now live and work in the East Bay (Oakland / San Leandro), I still take my cars to EA in SF. Shout out to Bobby, who books appointments and thoroughly explains the work done: I appreciate your friendliness, patience, and expertise. You clearly are knowledgeable and passionate about your job. Thank you from a long term, satisfied EA Customer... you have earned my trust and loyalty!

Brought in an EV due to a specific issue that we needed fixed. Earthling was nice, but repeatedly refused to provide diagnostics relating to our issue, saying there was a missing part. Long story short: We asked what was missing. I copied and pasted their latest response here, because I don't want to misquote them: "We would not be certain because it is missing". That there is the best example of circular logic I think I've ever seen, and is dishonest at its core... [smh] Earthling then demanded the EV be picked up or storage charges would result. We repeatedly asked for their pickup hours, but there was no response for three weekdays.

Fearing storage fees, we finally took a chance and made the 1hr drive to pick up the car. Earthling demanded a full diagnostic payment in exchange for the vehicle, even though Earthling never gave us any diagnostic report related to the only issue we asked Earthling to address. We have five of this exact EV and anther six similar EVs in our fleet, so I'm very familiar with this vehicle. At pickup I popped the hood, and sure enough this EV looked as complete as the day it was built.

We gave Earthling many chances to make it right. This is not what we were expecting from Earthling, so we're really disappointed. The EV failed again almost immediately after pickup (as the issue is 100% repeatable), requiring it be towed the rest of the way home. Not the worst horror story, but Earthling was a waste of time, money and effort, for sure.

I have been taking my Prius since they were Luscious Garage. I love that they specialize in hybrids and electrics and do high quality work for a FAIR price. So many mechanics & dealerships charge insane prices, including just for diagnostics! Earthling is the opposite. I thought my car was dying, and it turned out it was just suuuuuper low on oil. The cheapest fix ever! They are honest, clear communicators. I know my car is in good care, is safe, and I feel cared for too. Big fan.

After some pretty disappointing experiences at the dealership, I took my EV here to get a checkup/routine maintenance and new tires. It's a 2016 Spark, which is kinda niche since there weren't many of them made; the Chevy dealer kinda treated it like an inconvenient curiosity, plus was condescending to me (I'm a woman... Feels like that had something to do with it).

I cannot say enough good things about Earthling - the shop is clean and organized, with a super comfortable waiting area (I was there for 3 hours since I decided to wait... Coffee and WiFi!). Wonderful communication by text pre and post appointment. They stand by their work, explained everything that needed to be done and why, and never seemed annoyed by questions or too rushed to give thoughtful answers. My husband brought his plug-in hybrid here, too, and had a similar experience - plus Earthling charged hundreds less than the dealer had quoted. Really, a great shop; I don't know why I'd ever take my EV anywhere else. It's going to need a new battery soon, and honestly having an EV shop like this around makes me want to keep/maintain this car forever.

Friendly and professional. Great communication. Keeping my 2007 Prius purring along. New, light filled waiting room. Easy location.

I have heard great things about this shop so I wanted to bring in our 2020 Toyota Highlander Hybrid for our 95K mile service.

I reached someone this past Wednesday afternoon, around 4:45 pm (right before they closed) to inquire about the cost for a 95K mile service appointment. The person who received my call took down my information and said they would email me with the quote.

Thursday morning, still no quote so I call back the business, receive their answering machine, which then gives me a number to text. I texted their number to get the quote and hopefully make an appointment.

No response. I called them again and got their machine - so I have up and booked my appointment elsewhere.

Not sure what is going on here, but I really wanted to give this place my business. I hope they figure things out.

So many fake and paid reviews for this business, it's unbelievable!! It can't possibly have this many 5 star reviews, no way. The owner Carolyn Coquillette holds grudges from 11 years ago at her old location (Lucious Garage), but will flood your phone an email with service reminders and messages to visit the new shop. All over a discrepancy over pricing for tires, and she's still holding a grudge 11 years later because I was outspoken about their tire pricing and didn't want to be ripped off!


You're strictly in or out with the owner. A previous employee at Luscious Garage, told me to be careful of her, and "don't do anything to get on her bad side". Not something that gives you a warm and fuzzy feeling when you're entrusting your vehicle to someone. If you don't agree with her style or shop pricing, she will pin you to the cross!! I had previously removed my review, but now I'm posting it again after they texted they wouldn't even touch my Prius because of the review I wrote last year, so now they're blackballing me over a minuscule Yelp review.


I've already been taking my car to Action Auto Care (Robert) with fair and honest pricing for the last 10 years. NO ISSUES WHATSOEVER. But I just kept getting their trivial emails and text messages every month telling me my Prius needs all these "services", when it doesn't. Shady business practices just like Pat's Garage and their previous location downtown on 9th St. so I blocked them.
