I found Echo on Yelp. Ratings are very good and I called for an estimate. I spoke with Viri to schedule. I had to call numerous times and Viri was very kind and accommodating. Chris and Sahy arrived on time, gave me an estimate, I asked for a price match and they did. Chris and Sahy came the very next morning and installed the new water heater. It looks excellent.
I can not say enough about the service Chris and Sahy provided. They are very good and did an EXCELLENT job. Everything is very clean and thorough. I would not hesitate to call Echo again, as long as I get Chris and Sahy!!
Thank you very much Chris and Sahy,

We've been having issues with 1 of our shower drains for a while; drain-o and short drain clearing strips from Amazon weren't doing the trick. We finally decided to ask a few plumbers for some quotes, mostly expecting to need the snake for clearing of hair clumps. Echo Plumbing was quick to respond and sent some guys over promptly the next morning, beating out anyone else to the punch. On arrival, even prior to arrival, we were quoted $295 which felt a bit steep for a snaking job; we negotiated down to $250 but they wanted to do the job right then and there cuz they came from Concord. We weren't too happy that we couldn't get quotes from others without these guys leaving in a huff; even more annoying was they finished the job in 10 minutes. I can't deny their effectiveness and quick response, I'll just be more conscious about scheduling my quotes for jobs in the future, especially if they need to travel some distance and don't want to go back home without being paid.

Hello Gene.
Thank you for your feedback. We apologize you were not satisfied with the estimate we provided. Before coming out we did send over the $295 flat rate through a yelp message. We offer free estimates and there is no obligation if the estimate was not in your price range. My technician did lower the price to provide a discount since he was already there. The new free estimate was $250. We charge by the job, not by the hour. Jobs can be unpredictable depending on the issue. For this issue, if everything goes well it can take between 15 minutes to 1 hour but if by any chance it gets complicated then it can take up to 1-2 hours to unclog the line. Despite the time it takes for our technicians to do the work, the price would not change if it took longer. We thank you again for sharing your experience with our company. We hope you still consider us in your future plumbing needs and we hope you have an amazing week! - Jerome H.Pittsburg, CA01Aug 5, 2024
Echo plumbing has done some great work with the plumbing in my house and gained my trust to pay with cash to get a discount.
The business was honest until I paid them in cash for a job unfinished and was told by one of their tech's Chris Canas that I could pay him cash in advance and it would save me some money through working through him vs going through the company which would cost me more when getting a new water heater so I paid him in cash.
When the time came for us to get the new water heater that I paid for, Chris changed up claiming he is the most trustworthy person in the world, but lied to my wife and the company telling them that he doesn't remember that, but he wanted cash so he could keep all the money and not have the company a part of the deal.
I can understand that you want to branch out in your own, I am willing to support young entrepreneurs, but why lie about something that you agreed to when the person that sees you vision trusts you to do solid professional business. Then manipulate the paperwork to justify your shady business.
Don't pay Chris in cash unless you talk to Veri the rep or the manager and ensure that what is being discussed is on the up and up and that you get what you pay for. I got charged twice for a water heater and Chris got paid twice for a water heater and labor which he never worked for.
Do not give Chris cash for a job if he says it will save you money if you don't go through the company, Chris says he's trustworthy but not that trustworthy. I planned to work with Chris for the foreseeable future because honestly he does great work, but I will never use his services again. He used my trust against me and is now trying to use the company and its
"good name" to cover up his shady business.
I gave him 1 star but he gets no stars from for this.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Hello Jerome H, thank you for your feedback.
On February 29th 2024, you contacted our company regarding your heavily leaking water heater. Our tech Chris Cañas went out to your property to provide a quote on replacing the whole unit and parts.
Since there was water remediation work caused from the old heater that was needed to be done before installing a new unit on March 27th,2024, we decided it’d be best to uninstall the unit, bypass the lines so the water could be turned back onto the home, and leave the old water heater in your garage (as requested by you) to be installed again after the water remediation work was complete. Despite Chris’s recommendation at the time of a new water heater, you decided not to move forward due to low funds.
On March 27th, 2024, our technician Chris left the old heater connections covered in red tape to be protected for the future installation of the existing water heater. At this time, the agreement was for $800 to remove the water heater and cap the lines, $350 to create a temporary bypass, and $695 to come back when you were ready for us to reinstall the same water heater with the same parts as stated on the estimate and the invoice #2834 we provided.
You (Jerome) decided to pay cash for the total of $1,845 to avoid the 2% credit card processing fee we had at that time on 3/27/24, not to save money with Chris. After the total cost of the invoice was paid, there was no extra $800 that was given to Chris.
After Chris waited for you for over an hour to arrive with the payment, Chris read the invoice #2834 to you word for word to make sure you understood and you signed the invoice #2834 on 3/27/24. The invoice was not manipulated paperwork which you stated since both the tech and customer are both provided with the same invoice for records. The only error on the invoice was your name that our tech misspelled.
If you would have already paid the extra $800 on 3/27/24, you wouldn’t have texted Chris on 4/7/24
asking about the quote for a new water heater. On the text messages, it indicates you had not paid the additional amount.
We did not hear back from you until 8/2/24 when your wife scheduled the appointment for the following Monday 8/5/24. Before arriving at the appointment, we confirmed if you still wanted to reinstall the same old leaking water heater which was already covered in the invoice cost or a new one which was for an additional cost. The additional cost we provided on 4/7/24 was $800 but we wanted to help you with the part cost and we lowered it to $700 on 8/5/24.
After rescheduling our appointment from 9-10am to 1-2pm on 8/5/24 due to the misunderstandings between if the new heater cost was already paid for or not, we received approval from your wife’s brother/realtor Markus that he was going to take care of the $700 charge.
Luis, the owner, called you on 8/5/24 at 2:22pm in order to resolve the issue however you did not pick up and he had left you a voicemail with his personal number so you can contact him back at your earliest convenience. He has not received a call back till this day.
Echo Plumbing strives in providing customers fair and competitive pricing, and offers discounts and some options of payments. Your claims of getting charged twice are false. Invoices are a part of how we ensure what’s said is what’s done. As many other clients have already expressed on our reviews, our Tech Chris Cañas is very professional, trustworthy, and kind. Stealing $800 from a client is something not to be dealt with lightly. We attempted to help you with discounts, various detailed emails for your insurance provider, quick and immediate appointments, etc.
Regardless, Thank you for choosing Echo Plumbing once again! - Joshua P.Oakland, CA0101Aug 12, 2024
Chris (and the Echo Plumbing team) are amazing!!! Chris is literally one of the most professional, courteous, and trustworthy people we've ever had work on our house. Chris was great at communicating everything he did and was clear about exactly what was needed and what things would cost. There was always clarity because he was always explaining things thoroughly. The work was done extremely well and in a timely manner. He was respectful of our home and made sure everything was cleaned up well before he left. I would recommend Chris and the team for all your plumbing work!

I called Echo Plumbing to investigate a sewer smell in my bathroom, and got an appointment within an hour. Technician Chris arrived promptly, and discovered that the wax seal in the toilet was broken, leaving a gap between the floor and the sewer line. He gave me a choice of options at differing price ranges and made sure I understood the process. Repairs were completed quickly and professionally, and caulked the toilet and cleaned up the space. He wore booties inside to protect my floor and was very respectful of my home.

The team from Echo Plumbing & Rooter were great to work with. I had a stopped up tub drain and tried everything to fix it on my own. After a weekend of Drano and snaking, I realised it was time to call in reinforcements. Echo Plumbing & Rooter was able to come out within a couple of hours of my initial call. My interaction with them from the initial call to paying the invoice was positive. They were communicative, professional, knowledgeable, and efficient. I would absolutely work with them again.

After reaching back out to them we were able to come to an amicable resolution. Some words of warning
A Quote is free, however, you need to specify that you're requesting a quote at calling. My partner mentioned "scoping the line" and that's why we were charged $250 for them to come out and explain things. A quote doesn't cost anything but you get no video nor explanation of why it should be replaced, just a price. I was told the $250 would be credited towards the replacement if we chose to go with them (have to decide within 1 month of quote)
There was a miscommunication about "snaking" the sewer lateral vs. "Hydro-...something". I asked point blank, if "I pay you $250 more will you remove the roots" and the answer was yes and the roots were not removed. Given this miscommunication they agreed to refund us the cost of "snaking" the line. It was explained it would've taken longer to get rid of the roots and they would charge more for that so it's still bewildering that they agreed to take that extra $250 if they weren't going to remove the roots and they didn't appear to have done anything.
They ended up paying me back $300 out of the $500 so I'm still out $200 but now can use the refunded money to have another company get rid of the roots. Expensive miscommunication if you ask me but glad they met me in the middleHelpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0Dec 14, 2023Previous reviewWe requested an estimate for our sewer lateral replacement and they charged $250 to come out just for the estimate. They showed us some roots in our sewer lateral and strongly suggested they clean it out that visit (For an additional $250). After paying them $500 for the quote + clean out they emailed us a quote without the video (would've been another $100 for the video) for $12,000 to replace it.
Since we're new homeowners, we got a second opinion from Advanced Trenchless, who agreed to come out for free and quote the cost of a replacement. They scoped the sewer lateral and it turns out Echo did NOT clean it out as the same roots were present with no indication of anything being cleaned and let us know that a replacement was not needed and regular maintenance would suffice for the foreseeable future. Will be reaching out to Echo directly to get this resolved but wanted to put this warning to prevent someone else from making the same mistake I did - Andrei U.Martinez, CA115Sep 16, 2023

I have no complaints about this business! Juan and his colleague provided the best customer service and will now be our go-to if we ever need plumbing services again!
As most of you may know, COVID caused supply chain issues and delayed shipments. Juan was so flexible and was able to accommodate our busy schedule and worked WITH us to complete our bathroom renovation. When Juan initially opened the package for our toilet it arrived completely shattered, he offered a suggestion on where we could purchase the exact toilet and ACTUALLY ended up helping us SAVE money! He even offered to pick it up the exact same day so our renovation could stay on schedule and be completed. Echo plumbing installed our new Toto toilet and vanity with our upgraded touch less faucet.
Echo plumbing are professionals and did not leave a mess! They offer reasonable pricing. I would definitely recommend them to anyone.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 1Business owner information
