Eileen McCarthy, DDS

I've been going to see Dr. McCarthy for as long as I can remember. She is kind, gentle, thorough, and very patient. She will take excellent care of your teeth.

Fondest memory: When I was young, and had to have a tooth pulled, she gave me a BEANIE BABY to make me feel better!

Beyond being a great dentist, she is one of the nicest people you will ever meet.

I have my gum issue as bleeding while brush my teeth , so I decided go and check with the general dentist, I find Eileen DDS near my work ( Burlingame neighbor), first expression from Eileen was great , she had good humor and claim , she explain everything's where I concern about , and after all , she had advice how to protect the gum to avoid damages. What a nice experience .

Dr Eileen is the best dentist I've had. Shes always nice but will give it to you straight if youve slacked on taking care of your teeth. Explains everything in detail and visits are not rushed whatsoever. Shes also fun to talk to. It's a nice touch she or Dr Tim answer the phone and take care of everything themselves. Always sends me off with a free toothbrush and floss. Easy parking and location

I wish there was a 6 star rating because Dr. McCarthy deserves more than 5 stars.

Read the other reviews carefully. The same things keep coming up...kind, gentle, thorough. I would add that she is also a perfectionist which is a darn good thing in a dentist.

I have had other dentists who have a hard time working on my mouth because of my small jaw. Some dentists have been very impatient. Not Dr McCarthy. She is so consistently kind and patient that I never worry about my appointments.

She shares the office with her brother Dr Tim McCarthy who I'm sure is equally as great. I have seen him helping a daughter get her very elderly mother (his patient) in the car after her appointment. Kindness seems to be a family trait.

I used to work at a think tank at Stanford University. We had visiting scholars from around the world. Many times they would have a need for emergency dental work and I always recommended Dr McCarthy. They were always happy with her work and the prices...

One of my cohorts also switched from her high priced dentist to Dr Eileen and has been ecstatic with her work.

Dr.Eileen McCarthy has been my dentist since the early 90's when I first moved to Burlingame from the city and her office was a few blocks from my house. She is also my children's dentist-and now they are big enough (in theory) to make their own medical/dental provider decisions. We all still travel back to Eileen from wherever we are because she is the perfect dentist. She is conscientious, meticulous and professional, yet completely relaxed and so gentle. She respects my desires to do miminum x-rays, but lets nothing slide. She has always alerted me to any developing issues in such a timely manner that I can take care of them before they are a real problem. She communicates concerns in a respectful, direct, but kind manner. I know she will be honest but I actually don't even dread the reports or the sweet reminders to floss more! I trust her completely and like her a lot.

Dr. McCarthy shares a low-key office with her brother. They answer the phones, do the billing and all the dental work as well. I am sure her brother is great too, if you want to go that way..

Dr. Eileen McCarthy is a great dentist.
One of the most knowledgeable in her field and the kindest.
She also is a professor at University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco.
Dr. McCarthy runs the business with her brother and their office is very welcoming and clean.

I would recommend her to anyone who asks.
Because of her, I actually look forward to coming to the dentist.

Dr. McCarthy is the best. She's calm, super-nice, and makes sure you understand what she's doing. If you're nervous about seeing a dentist, she's HIGHLY recommended. She'll make you feel comfortable and will give you options. I only see her and if I had kids, I would only take them to her. Appointments are easy and the office is conveniently located.

I really like Dr Eileen~!! She is very easy to talk to and very friendly. Dr Eileen is very thorough in her examination of your teeth & gums. It has been a while since I had a great dentist like her. She reminded me of the proper ways of brushing & flossing. The office has a very comfortable home-like feel. Dr Tim, Eileen's brother, shares this small dental office in Burlingame. They are the only staff in the office, so everything is taken care of by them. They are a great team~!!

I love Dr. McCarthy. I have a serious fear of the dentist, and she makes me feel very comfortable. I'm not sure how the office works--I've never had a dental hygienist clean my teeth, only Dr. McCarthy!! I like how she takes the time to do that, and I feel like she knows my teeth very well (wow, that was a weird thing to write!). I'd recommend her to anyone!

I decided to test out my fellow Yelpers and switched dentists when I moved to Burlingame. I was not disappointed. Dr. Eileen McCarthy is an outstanding dentist. She takes the time to explain EVERYTHING to you (and if you don't want to know, you can let her know that also). I like to know what is happening when I am being worked on, so I appreciate the time she takes to explain. She is reasonable and has a good understanding of the insurance process, so she makes recommendations based on what is best for you as her patient. She always gives options so I feel like I can control what and when I get work done. I never feel the pressure that I have sometimes gotten at dentist offices to do more than necessary.
I liked her so much that I brought our daughter here for her first dental check up. It was painless and actually fun for her! Talk about starting off on the right foot. As long as we live within driving distance, our family will continue to see Dr. McCarthy.
