Alfredo came out and checked out my faulty garage. He was super helpful and great at communicating the potential issues to me. He is clearly an electrician expert and I would highly recommend him to anyone with issues!

EJ responded the same day when I called them for diagnosis to our water heater. Sam came over on time, and figured out what's wrong quickly. The inspection is free and they give clear quote afterwards and allow me to decide on my own without pressure.

When I made the decision to accept their quote, they came back very quickly on the same day too and have it fixed. Shoutout to Sam for his good service and it was a pleasure experience with EJ

Hurrah! The hot water is back on after replacing a failed igniter. I won't have to take another shower at the senior center. :-)

Samuel came out and introduced himself and took off the panel and took a look. Identified the part and they had it in stock and problem solved!

My tankless water heater is from Noritz and I learned of EJ from Noritz so definite A+ for EJ.

We'll be calling EJ again if another plumbing issue arises whether or not it's the Water Heater itself

We first used EJ plumbing service about 2 years ago for a simple problem, it was fixed pretty quick and at a reasonable price. But the experience this time was not as great.

I like that they are a bigger company so they are able to send technicians out pretty quickly. They set a window and communicate when the technician is on the way, however the appointment window is 4 hours, which I think it's a big window to hang around and wait.

Within the last 10 days, we have used EJ service twice and our technician for both times was Jairo. At first he seems to be a nice guy, very polite, seems to know what he was doing and pretty professional. BUT, both time he came to fix the issues, there was always a leak that made him have to come back the next day. It was quite frustrating to have this happen twice in a row. I have to wait around to have something fixed that was caused by their job not done properly. And when I called at 4.40pm (they closed at 6pm), the lady said they wouldn't send a technician out until late next morning. I would understand if I needed help with a problem I have from my end, but not for the one that caused by their fault.

Not sure if we will use their service again. Probably if we really needed something in a short notice. Either way, I think I will ask for someone who is not Jairo. I feel it's a bit too much to be a coincident.

I'm changing my rating here on EJ Services concerning the water heater installation they performed to ONE star.
On 06/26/24 I contacted this company for a water heater replacement. I decided this was needed because for one the current water heater was about 20 years old plus I already purchased a pilot kit that I installed which didn't work.
So two technicians came to my address. I work from home and the water heater is located just outside my front door of my condo. I had my front door open and can see pretty much most of what they were doing. My at homework computer station close to my front door.
The invoice was higher at $2,328 for a 40 gallon tank but I didn't have a lot of time available to obtain other estimates from companies at the time.
Samuel was the main employee doing the work and at the time he seemed to be honest and professional in his work plus what he was telling me.
After the install they left my residence and I had hot water again after about an hour had passed.
I forgot that a PG&E person was scheduled to my residence because I was thinking of replacing another part from the water heater. This person suggested since he was already here, he would check for leaks. He said all the piping was fine except there was a non-hazardous leak at the main valve. This is the valve that allows you to shut off all gas going to the water heater. He told me that this was a basic check that EJ Services should've performed and yes he did ask me who did the work. He even wrote this information into his report that he gave me.
Later after PG&E was gone, I called EJ Services. They sent out the same people that did my water heater installation. After arrival Samuel said the service call would be $150 plus something around $50 for the part. He attempted to tell me that the main valve wasn't part of the water heater installation. I told him you don't know who you're talking to. I know a lot about subcontractors and contractors and work that's done plus what is considered a complete job. I was the person who for example worked as Subcontract Administrator for the electric rail line between San Jose Ca to San Francisco. After a back and forth, I told him he needed a management decision for a no cost invoice or another words it's part of the original invoice contract I already paid. He did call and was told to do the work at no cost.
This is where things go south!
Lewis a manager at EJ Services calls me. During our long conversation he admits Samuel told him there was a non-hazardous leak at the main valve. Lewis suggested that Samuel didn't inform me of this leak because he didn't think it was necessary.
Do you think this sounds reasonable?
If for example your car was leaking oil before an oil change, do you think it's reasonable that a mechanic should inform you of this or just ignore it?
Later on 07/03/24 I receive a no cost invoice and it's bad enough that in it Samuel lies about what took place concerning the main gas valve but he also makes a statement that says that if this main valve should fail, EJ Plumbing will not be held liable. Keep in mind the original invoice has no breakdown of costs for materials. It's one line item for $2,318.
Also consider that this company has published a Code of Ethics on one of their history pages.
Further all of what I'm sharing is odd coming from a family company that was first established back around 1878.
I sent this company feedback on a questionnaire they sent to me.
I told them their employees Samuel and Lewis are unprofessional and lied and made every attempt to perform a cover up instead of admitting their oversight of not simply replacing a main gas valve to my water heater that really is part of the $2,318 paid; period. An apology and we would've been done, right?
I informed at some point to not only Samuel but Lewis too that if we were in Small Claims Court a judge would find it reasonable that the initial work performed was incomplete. As evidence from my next door neighbor that had an exact same 40 gallon water heater with everything replaced which included the main valve!

I recommend not to use EJ Services. Tell your friends too that this company will attempt to evade responsibility and they will try to charge you for work that is covered in the original work they performed. Don't fall victim to their unscrupulous tactics and select a different company that does service of what you need.
You don't want or need the headache EJ Services will give you.

Antonio came out to replace a bathroom faucet. He was on time, explained everything that needed to be done, and was friendly and professional. We had a bit of a tough situation in that a previous contractor cemented our pedestal sink to the floor, so Antonio couldn't move the pedestal to easily get to the pipes. It was a tight squeeze to access everything, but Antonio worked his way through the issue with no complaints. Excellent work. EJ Home services was also great at keeping us posted on arrival times, etc. Not the least expensive company in town but overall a very professional company, and I highly recommend them.

Our landlord hired EJ to tackle a challenging sewer line issue, and we were fortunate to have Ben Maher assigned to the job. From the moment he arrived, it was clear we were in the hands of a consummate professional. The problem was far more complex than anticipated, but Ben handled it with impressive expertise and grace. He kept us fully informed throughout the process, ensuring we understood each step of the diagnosis and resolution.

Ben's colleague, Jonathan, also contributed significantly. Together, they not only provided a reliable short-term solution but also laid out a thoughtful plan for a long-term fix. Their ability to communicate clearly, address our concerns, and maintain high customer empathy truly set them apart.

Watching Ben in action, demonstrating leadership, deep technical knowledge, and genuine care for our home, was a refreshing experience. This has been one of the most positive encounters we've had with home maintenance. Kudos to Ben and Jonathan for their outstanding work!

Bruce was absolutely incredible. Our challenge was two-fold. We had a faulty supply line in one bathroom sink, and then we had a wobbly toilet in a different bathroom.

We called around to several plumbing companies and EJ Plumbing was immediately responsive and we were able to book an appointment within a day.

On appointment day, this was done as a consultation. Evaluate our situation and then offer the appropriate guidance on what to do to solve it.

Turns out, Bruce was able to determine exactly what was needed, he even phoned a few other colleagues in the area to see if they might be available to help knock this out on the same day.

Lucky for us, Bruce was very clear on the cost estimates, let us know that some team members were in the area and could come by to help. We agreed.

My toilet was clogged this morning. I called for help and I have to say that the entire team was extremely professional. I called at 8:30am, they said they would send someone by 1pm but they resolved it by 12:15pm. Ramiro came out to assist us. He called to say he was on the way, he was patient, consultative and very professional. I would recommend Ramiro and EJ Home Services. Thank you for helping me.
