      Service - 4/5
      Food - 5/5

Popped in here midday on Saturday and had a good experience. Quick service and good food.

Ordered the carnitas torta and would 100% order this again. We also ordered the bean and cheese Pupusa and cheese and pork pupusa. Both were delicious but I preferred the simple bean and cheese one.

      Food:
Having visited twice, I found the food here to be a mixed experience. On my first visit, I tried the street tacos - carne asada and al pastor - accompanied by a generous bag of chips. The chips were a highlight, fresh and crispy, complemented by two salsas: a mild salsa verde and a spicier salsa roja, both served in convenient squeeze bottles. The street tacos, priced at $3.50 each, felt somewhat pricey given their small size. The carne asada was decent, while the al pastor, though generously sauced, was overly salty.

My second visit was for the Baja-style fish tacos, which, at around $19-$20 for two, were notably expensive. The tacos came with guacamole, garlic aioli, and pico de gallo. Unfortunately, the pico de gallo and guacamole didn't seem freshly made, impacting their quality. The fish itself was crispy and plentiful, but the overall experience didn't justify the high price.

      Service:
The service here is straightforward and efficient. You order at the counter, and the food is brought to your table. There's nothing particularly special or noteworthy about the service, but it gets the job done.

      Ambiance:
The ambiance is typical of a casual, hole-in-the-wall taqueria. There are some seats inside with paper towels on the tables and additional seating outside, which is convenient for those with pets. It's not a place you'd go for a fancy dining experience, but it serves its purpose well for a quick, casual meal.

      Overall:
Overall, this taqueria is just okay. It's not a place I'd highly recommend, but it's a decent option if you're in the area and craving tacos. The prices are more reasonable compared to other nearby Mexican restaurants, though some items can still feel overpriced for the quality offered. If you're willing to spend a bit more for a possibly better experience, you might consider other options, but for a quick taco fix without venturing too far, this spot might be your best bet.

The food is so good and the staff is very friendly. Also the horchata should be illegal because it's the best I've ever had.

Just want to express my LOVE of this place again! And love love love the new chicken Al pastor! Soooo good! I'm currently on a keto/low carb diet. My go-to's are the two super tacos with the chicken Al pastor. They load them up! I take them home and scoop them onto my own Keto tortillas and they are absolutely fabulous!!! Also the chicken tortilla soup is the best I have ever had! Great for keto diet (as long as you don't put the tortilla strips in it, and trust me it doesn't need it.). Super hardy with big chunks of chicken and vegetables. Big fan! And as always the staff is amazing and super friendly. They are the best in alameda!

      Pork and cheese pupusas. Amazing!!!!
Steaks tacos. The al pastor is perfection! Soooo good!

Secret gem in alameda for the best Mexican food. The place is really small like 4 tables, it's more a take out spot than a dine in spot, but the food there is insane. Also pro tip their green sauce is amazing get extra. Out of all the Mexican places I've tried, this one just gets everything right, it doesn't hurt that it's around the corner from me. Would recommend to anyone looking for traditional and flavorful Mexican food at no fuss. If ur looking to sit in an instagrammable restaurant this is not it tho.

El Caballo Wraps is a small hole in the wall Taqueria on Lincoln Ave in Alameda. The menu is quite extensive though offering every type of burrito imaginable, tacos including snapper fish tacos, fajitas, pupusas, and the list goes on.

They were kind enough to let us sample their chicken tortilla soup which was fresh and homemade. While sampling the soup we order one of their special burritos called Super Seafood Burrito.

Super Seafood Burrito: at first I was taken back by the total which was $19.88 with tax included. But in defense, burritos on this side of the bay for whatever reason have inflated to that price. I wish someone would tell my employer, I shouldn't have to work so many hours just to buy burritos. But I digress... The burrito was good tasting and every bite had shrimp in it. That makes it a winner in my book. No skimping and good SABOR.

El Caballo is definitely a spot to check out for solid Mexican food in Alameda.

Ordered the super seafood burrito, fish tacos, and kids quesadilla. Everything was delicious. I mistakenly ordered a different taco than what I wanted and they cooked up what I meant to order for no extra charge. Great customer service.

Cute little spot sitting along the side of Lincoln Ave. Their nachos are fully loaded and served fundido style (Mexican fondue), which I absolutely love! It's usually about $25 for my nachos and tea but it's a huge portion and large tea. The Jamaica tea has the perfect amount of tartness and not overly sweetened. The chips are fresh and not stale, or tasting like old oil. The gentleman that is usually working in there during the day is super kind which is also a plus. Family owned vibes.

I've reviewed before. This place is our go to with amazing food. I just wish that they could stay open a half hour later! I say that with nothing but affection for our favorite Mexican spot on the island. Try it, you'll be happy you did.
