El Torito

What an amazing dinning experience me and my friends had at El Torito today!
Jessica and Rafa helped us pick the most tasteful dishes and flavorful drinks I have ever had. They constantly came to check on us to see how we were doing and they did it with the most enthusiastic and energetic attitude that it left us all wishing we could stay in there for much longer.
It was an experience that's gonna be difficult to beat!

Our exceptional waitress, Jessica went above and beyond when taking care of our party of 4. Her customer service made our experience at El Torito very pleasant. She was wonderful in every way possible. I would definitely give more than 5 stars for her service!!

This evening some friends and I visited for happy hour. My last visit (bar area) was about 8 years ago and wasn't the best but was open to giving it another try. For my friends, it's been awhile since they've been to any El Torito's and first time visiting the San Leandro location.

Happy Hour food items priced from $4 -$10 with a nice variety from dips, corn, tacos, sopes, flautas with complimentary chips and salsa. A great deal along with HH priced drinks and food that we all enjoyed.

What made me update my review is the customer service provided by staff in the bar area...especially Hilario...efficient, professional, friendly and provided exceptional service. No complaints and we all appreciated his hospitality. Definitely deserved the generous tip we left! ヘ( ^o^)ノ＼(^_^ )

Happy Hour is offered everyday from 3-9pm. Bar area was lively, clean with a small view of the Marina. Great spot to get together with friends, enjoy tasty snacks and option of drinks.

NOTE: Parking lot is a bit "interesting" with parked RVs, people just hanging out in their cars and saw a U-Haul with people sifting thru boxes like a lot sale...um yeah. (0_0) A bit worrisome at first but all good.

Definitely worth going to Happy Hour great prices! Signal at this location may not be the best inside the restaurant since it is located by the San Leandro marina. But they have guest WiFi if needed.

Open seating, first come first serve in the designated HH area.

Service - okay
Waiting for the food to come out took longer than usual even for the guac and chips. But all wait staff were very friendly and great!

Quality - okay
Favorite was the street corn. The rest were a hit or a miss. Maybe because this was for HH so not everything was good, but regular dining definitely has more options to try

Went out to eat Saturday evening with my family as a group of 10+. When we got our food, most of us noticed that our food was just about cold. A lot of the food had to be taken back to be re heated. Our server was okay but she kept forgetting to bring us drinks, or silverware when requested. We ended up getting the drinks after we got the bill.
It was a warm evening and it seems that they don't have central AC system so it was reaaaaallly warm in there.
Looking out of the windows to the nice water & sunset was great though.

A visit on Friday afternoon.
This poor old restaurant has been around for too many years that it doesn't even have a sign on the building. The outside needs a serious power wash! Soooo DOES THE INSIDE!
We had a drink or two.
And that's it
Service was meh!

My first time eating at a Mexican brunch buffet and I really enjoyed it! There were so many dishes to choose from and I appreciate they offered savory and sweet dishes. The dining area did feel a bit crowded. It's hard to walk between other guests tables while holding your plate.

I was so excited to try this spot. This place has so much potential to be honest especially given the location. They should revamp the menu to more authentic Mexican food and would attract more folks I think.
They have good offers for happy hour and prices are not too high however although the place wasn't busy, the team took forever to even just bring drinks.
We ordered the flaming fajitas and a mixed plate and both were not great. The meat was dry and flavorless,beans were watery.
The enchilada I had was ok, so was the chile relleno but the and a beef taco which was not great.
I think they could honestly do soo much better. Like some pozole for the brunch or chilaquiles etc so yeah pretty disappointing.

it's my 2nd time going to Sunday brunch, everything is delicious, from pozole, to huevos and chorizo, shrimp cocktail and ceviche. Complimentary churro pancakes and champagne. We look forward to going back.
