      So many great rolls!

The space is on the smaller side, but if you sit at the sushi bar they often make a little setting extra for you!

Solid sushi spot in San Francisco with typical sushi prices you'll see in the city! I'm not a huge fan of raw fish, but ended up trying their "white dragon" roll (shrimp tempura topped with seared walu, white pepper & sweet soy glaze) and had miso soup as a starter.

It was pretty quiet around the afternoon/early dinner time 5pm, but gets increasingly busier throughout the night. The service was friendly & quick too! Located on top of Russian Hill/Nob Hill, relatively small inside, but nice ambiance and atmosphere.

Not the best sushi I've had, but would return for a quick bite!

We got seated right away as a party of 2 around 8 pm on a Friday. The space is very small and the tables are close together. Intimate ambiance and lighting.

They gave us a small appetizer of two nigiris, on the house, at the beginning of our meal. I thought that was nice.

We both got the omakase ($64), which came with 10 pieces of nigiri each. The toppings on the nigiri were interesting, the fish quality was decent. The uni on top of the toro was the best bite of the night, hands down.

We also got the flaming seabass ($22), which is cool if you're looking for presentation as it comes out flaming, literally! The roll was very saucy.

Overall, cute/romantic date night spot. Not sure if I'd come back, but it was worth a try.

I've been to elephant sushi several times now. But this was the first time that I tried their signature roll called the flaming roll. Aside from being really fun spectacle for the table since it is served at the table on fire, it is also incredibly delicious. I wasn't sure how I felt about a cooked roll since I've never had that before however, it did not disappoint. In fact for people who are wary of raw fish, coming to a sushi restaurant this role would be the perfect Segway for them to get. I've always highly recommended elephant sushi for its intimate dinner atmosphere. I especially recommend sitting up at the bar and watching them make the sushi.

I ordered elephant sushi to-go while I was in town for a conference, so keep in mind that this may differ from a dine-in experience. While I would probably get it again (if my company was paying for it), I was rather unimpressed by the quality, especially for the price. I ordered the chef ochko roll, as well as the sake and o toro nigiris. What I didn't like: The rice felt a little tough and almost stale. Maybe it had been slightly undercooked, but the texture seemed off. The avocado was also browning and going bad, which I didn't notice until after I took the first bite of the roll and was left with a weird aftertaste. So some of the ingredients just didn't seem fresh. the hamachi on the roll was just ok. What I liked: the sake and o toro slices were rich and flavorful. I would get these again. Overall, an ok meal, but it definitely was not worth the $70 that was spent on it.

This spot never fails to satisfy my sushi craving! I love that they have butterfish on the menu too. Awesome, friendly efficient service. If you're considering the flaming sea bass, get it!

The restaurant is really small so they have limited seating. There are some tables outside but a little awkward since it's on a hill.

Elephant sushi is always a treat, especially after work or on a date night!! The ambiance is super cute and romantic with fairy lights around the restaurant. Keep in mind that it is pretty small, so if you have a larger party, I would not recommend walking in! Out of all of their locations, I do recommend checking out the Hayes Valley one if you want something more modern and spacious, or this location if you want something more romantic and cozy.

      - My favorite dish is the negi-toro! It has toro and fresh uni, I always get this when I come. Easily the best roll I have had at a SF sushi spot, it melts in your mouth. Highly recommend it!

      - The truffle hamachi is also pretty good! The truffle taste is not as strong and more subtle. It is definitely worth a try if you like truffle and more earthy/salty flavors.

      - Their tuna tataki from the Tokyo fish market was recommend by the server. Personally, I am not a fan of fish eggs, so it was a bit fishy for my preference and I would probably skip this and order another one of their dishes. However, the fish does taste very fresh and presentation is pretty!

      - The showstopper was the sea-bass flaming roll! It definitely was tasty and a cool sight. Would recommend definitely getting this to get the full dining experience.

Service was pretty tasty and friendly!
