Q:
Are kids allowed at this restaurant?
A:
Yes, I did see some children there on our last few visits. The staff was very attentive with them from what I saw.
john j.ÂQ:
Did this restaurant use to be called Lokanta?
A:
There's a Lokanta on Main in Pleasanton, that's all I know. Maybe it was there before. Both Mediterranean- Elia is Greek and excellent!

Great restaurant! I've only been here twice but would 100% go back any time I'm in Walnut Creek area.
Not only their food is amazing, everything we ordered did not disappoint, their service is top notch.
We ordered tzatziki, melitzanosalata and Greek salad for appetizers and both dips were amazing, salad was great too. Pita is super fresh and warm.
We also had Levraki (sea bass) which was delicious, comes out with head and tail removed (not quite like branzino), and lamb. Lamb was on a more rare side which I'm not a huge fan of but my family enjoyed it.
Poached pear was fresh and light to end our great experience.Helpful 2Thanks 2Love this 2Oh no 0 - 14124387Aug 10, 2024
Came here on a Monday night for dinner. Made reservations but it was not busy and got seated right away.
We ordered fried calamari, seafood paella, grilled octopus, feta and watermelon, a bottle of wine, and the pita bread with dip, and ended it with grilled pear dessert.
I enjoyed mostly everything except the paella rice and feta with watermelon. Paella rice was not cooked evenly. Rice was wet and mushy outside and hard from the inside. Feta with watermelon was a weird mix and not my taste so I did not like it.
Our waiter was very attentive and always checking up on us if we need anything.
Overall, my friends and I enjoyed the food and it felt like we were in Greece with the esthetic decor.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - dee l.Walnut Creek, CA010485Jul 29, 20241 check-in
I've been wanting to try Elia as I reminds me of my trip to Greece. I finally had the chance on a Sunday afternoon at around 3:00. We were seated right away as there was only four other parties when we arrived.
Staff were friendly and efficient. The decor was lovely and inviting. My expectation was high ... until the main course was served.
The fried cheese was yummy and the sea bass was delish! Sadly though, the Halibut dish we also ordered was overcooked/dry. It may just be a one-off, but I probably wouldn't take any chances with them again.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - 3362211541Aug 23, 2024Updated review2 check-ins
Service and ambiance was great! Super friendly, attentive, especially as we sat at the bar. The food was prepared and presented super well. Best grilled octopus I've had & beet salad was fire. The calamari was a little overdone for my preference. I love their dolmas, but my company debates me. Desert is a must try- we had the pear this time and it was marinated with some type of cherry sauce- delicious! I would come back!
Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0May 19, 2024Previous reviewFood was goood. Def a foodie delight's day or night out if you'd like to try some fresh prepared Greek food. The dolmathes were pretty elevated with the capers. We enjoyed that. The zucchini cakes tasted well made. Sort of like crab cake.. fried olives were interesting! All the seafood was made well. My least favorite dish had to be the breakfast paella, as the rice was a bit undercooked. The masouka was a nice blend of beef & lamb for someone who isn't too fond of lamb taste. The drinks were okay, we tried the mocktails. Our favorite part of this was the ending-- deserts are definitely worth a try! We shared the coffee some cake & chocolate cake. Wow! Service was attentive and friendly. Ambiance was chill for a Sunday late lunch service- not crowded at all. Decor inside is cute & they did a nice job with it all. We'd be back.. esp me, for the deserts!

Such an aesthetically pleasing and tasteful restaurant. I booked my husbands birthday dinner here and the staff did an amazing job being attentive. Upon booking the coordinator reached out to me and asked if I would like a birthday celebration notated on the menus. I thought that little detail being offered itself made the night special other than the amazing flavors.
I ordered the Lavarki (seabass) and it was perfection. The fresh taste of the fish was lightly seasoned to a very perfect bite.
My husband ordered the lamb shank and it was very tender, rich in flavor and paired with a nice tomato flavored orzo.
Our table ordered a few mezza's, dessert and mocktails.
Everyone enjoyed their meal, the service was great and it's worth trying if you're local.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Robert M.Canyon Lake, CA409022Aug 22, 2024
I literally have no words for the filet. Okay i do have words. Blow your d#%k off good. That's an industry term. I mean. Honestly. I'd leave my wife for that steak. Been happily married for 15 years but nothing is set in stone. I mean wowwwwww. Just wow. If you are eating anywhere else. Huge mistake. Andrea was awesomesauce. Also and industry term. Like amazing amazing. Cheers to Elia. Are u open for brekkie? Bc I need it. #hooked.

Having gone to both locations I prefer the original
Service: very slow, had to ask for a server to order drinks. Turned out the one who gave us water was our server but didn't tell us? So 20 min later asked the hostess to get our server
Food
Eggplant: really great flavors would get again
Octopus: the other location portion size was wayyyy better. Here is was a tiny amount. Amazing flavors but felt gipped for what we got
Paella : very salty and too much liquid wouldn't get this again. The runny egg on top wasn't necessary
Lamp chops: didnt try but my friend said was done perfect
Baklava: cant go wrong with sugar, asked for a side of ice cream as well :)
Drinks
Evil eye: tasty but the blue edible on top will turn your mouth blue lol
Espresso martini: espresso was light ok, but have had better
Great ambiance but gonna stick to the originalHelpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 1 - 427111Jun 6, 2024
If you want a taste of a european summer, then you have to check out this fabulous restaurant. The interior and exterior are both stunning, instantly transporting you from the Bay Area to Greece. Our service was excellent and so was the ambiance. Thankfully it was a slow Sunday afternoon because this place can get very busy!
We ordered the kotopoulo souvlaki (chicken skewers + couscous) and the seafood bucatini (pasta). For cocktails we tried the evil eye, the gift of gaia, and the santorini. Since we were celebrating my birthday and my friends graduation, they brought us each out a delicious piece of baklava. Everything was absolutely divine. I truly cannot wait for my next date at eliaHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 2162261173Jul 28, 2024Updated review
Girl dinner at Elia!!! Best bartender, Dre, making the most beautiful cosmos and killer martinis. We paired it with the roasted cauliflower and flaming cheese. Great service, excellent food and drinks, and such a fun vibe !
Helpful 0Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0Mar 16, 2024Previous reviewDinner at Elia! Always a fun way to celebrate! It's a party in Greece! Great service and atmosphere. The drinks here are as good as the food! Perfect martinis, espresso martinis with a kick, the spicy tingly fire of Olympus (must try at least once), and a tower of bubble shots!!! We started with their great bread and olive tapenade. Then we had the meatballs, the flaming cheese (complete with show), and my fav- the roasted cauliflower. Even non- cauliflower lovers love this. We enjoyed the little gem salad- creamy, crunchy, and full of cheese. The filet mignon was perfectly cooked. The halibut with mussels comes with this great lobster sauce. The moussaka is hearty and feels like a Sunday dinner at your grandparents. Always great!
Aug 19, 2023Previous reviewVroom Vroom start your engines! The kick off to my birthday week started on an awesome note! Elia with my best girl! A perfect Friday lunch on the patio. Started with the best espresso martinis. We shared a bunch of apps. The shrimp was delicious in a garlic tomato olive broth. The flaming cheese is quite a show and who doesn't love melty cheese! The lamb riblets are fall off the bone tender and so flavorful. And the roasted cauliflower is my all time fav! I could eat this everyday. Ended with bubble martinis for dessert! Always great!
May 21, 2023Previous reviewElia for the birthday boy! Didn't take a ton of pics but everything was great. Started with the lamb meatballs and falling cheese- classics for a reason. Also tried the fried smelt- perfectly fried crunchy seafood goodness. The espresso martini was the way they should be made- no cream liquors! Dinner was the Greek salad full of crunchy veggies and perfectly grilled shrimp. Always the perfect place to celebrate a birthday not just for the food but the fun and beautiful atmosphere. Like taking a trip to an party island in Greece!
Jan 14, 2023Previous reviewLunch @eliarestaurants with my fav foodie friend! This place is a welcome addition to Walnut Creek's dining scene. The atmosphere transports you to a summer day on an island in Greece- as does the party atmosphere (late night there is a DJ spinning the best house music). We started with cocktails from their amazing bar- the fire of Olympus.... A great spicy yet sweet cocktail with a twist... there is this little flower bud you eat. All I can say is whoa ! We enjoyed the calamari- thick slices paired with jalapeños and the cauliflower -with chili butter, spices, almonds and feta. I would come here just to eat that cauliflower again! The lamb riblets were huge! Perfectly cooked with a sauce that balanced the lamb. The shrimp with feta, olives and tomatoes was delicious- just wished there was pita for soaking up all the flavor! We finished with another round of cocktails using the "bubble gun". It releases bubbles infused with flavor- like smoke for my mezcal drink. Service was attentive and knowledgeable. I can't wait to go back!
Jan 7, 2023Previous reviewDrinks at Elia- quite the smoke show Beautiful interior, fun atmosphere, and a great bar with killer drinks.... now I just need to try the food next time -- eating dinner at Elia Walnut Creek.
