Excalibur Moving Company

I've moved 4 times in the last 5 years in SoCal, and each time have used a different moving company. Each move, I spent quite a bit of time reading through yelp reviews, narrowing down to a handful of top rated companies and then comparing their quotes.
My experience with the first three moving companies in LA was disappointing to say the least. Movers from the first company (rated 5 stars on yelp) would not leave my house until I wrote a 5 star review with at least 60 words. He literally counted the number of words while I was standing there. Since I did not think they did a very good job with the move, I have since deleted that review.
The second company spent an exorbitant amount of time stretch wrapping the furniture. They charged for the stretch wrap, and also was paid by the hour, so they overwrapped everything and also wrapped very slowly. It was getting ridiculous so I grabbed one of the rolls and started wrapping as well, and I alone wrapped faster than two professional movers combined. Needless to say, their final bill was way higher than the estimate.
Third company sent three people but two of them disappeared for about half of the move during loading.

Then, on my most recent move, I used Excalibur. At this point I concluded that there are too many unreliable reviews on moving companies so I just went with the one that gave me the lowest quote. Excalibur was cheaper than any other moving company and also cheaper than using pods plus two movers.
The movers were on time, very professional, fast, and overall awesome. It was raining during the move and they wrapped everything thoroughly with blankets and stretch wrap so nothing got wet or damaged, but were still way faster than any other movers I've experienced, and didn't charge me extra for all the tape/wrap they used. Oh and they didn't ask me for a review, so I presume the other reviews here are also legitimate.

Even though I initially chose them because they were the cheapest, knowing what I know now, I would use them even if they are not. Unlike the other companies I've used, their quotes are honest, everyone I dealt with both over the phone and during the move had a lot of integrity and professionalism, and overall, they saved me a lot of time/cost/headache.

I would use Excalibur again in a heartbeat for my next move.

Contacted Excaliber about 2 weeks prior to our move in date, they asked me to do a FaceTime walkthrough of the job to estimate the labor and cost. After this, they sent me a quote citing the max possible charge for those services.

On the day of service, they arrived exactly on time, were polite and professional, and did an unbelievable job of moving even larger pieces with ease, without a single scratch to the wood or paint.

All told, they completed my move in less than 4 hours, and the final charge was about half the "max quote" given.

I would use their services again in a heartbeat, and give them my highest recommendation.

I had a last minute move that stressed me out but Excalibur made it so easy. The 3-man moving crew was so fast and careful with things. they were on time and communicative. I can't say a single bad thing about the actual move. the price was great too. Very affordable especially compared to some of the pricier last minute moving companies quoted. Thank you guys so much!

The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because I did not love the confirmation process the day before the move. they didn't try calling me, just sent a text telling me to call them to avoid cancellation. I had to call and sit on hold... had they just called me I would have answered and saved time. This rubbed me the wrong way. I would still use them again in a heartbeat.

I've been waiting to post this review because oh my goodness, they were so amazing they deserve the best review ever.

I've moved about 7 times now, and have never hired a mover before. This time, I was making a big in state move from Los Angeles to San Francisco alone and knew I needed the help so I reached out to a bunch of movers on Yelp. Many of them quoted outrages prices for the amount of stuff I had (about 10 boxes, no furniture) that were in the $3K range. Excalibur was the only one who had a reasonable price ($1000 flat rate, no hours (which I liked because I know they wouldn't rush my stuff) so I decided to give them a go.

I am so glad I did and it completely opened my mind up about movers moving forward. I'm never going to move anything myself ever again. The Excalibur guys showed up bright and early on moving day, were professional and logged all my stuff correctly and packed their truck in less than an hour. They even got up the hilly driveway of my house (with a huge truck!)

I wasn't moving into my new place until two months later so they even offered one month of storage which was so helpful and then they delivered my stuff a few days after I moved and it was perfect timing. I did pay one additional month of storage.

When they unloaded my boxes, it was very systematic and they did it in 20 minutes. In less than 2 hours, I had all my stuff loaded and unloaded from the trucks on both trips. I was impressed by their speed, kindness, and professionalism.

Also shout out to Luis for being my POC on emails and phone calls and answering my questions.

I would recommend Excalibur to anybody! I want to use them again if I move within SF.

I used Excalibur before for our previous move and I've decided to give them another chance as well to move to our new apartment. I'm hoping to have the same team.

Aaron and his team got the job done on time, with understanding and concern for your belongings. The team worked tirelessly and with great energy to get the job done the same day. I believe they went above and beyond offering advice with an idea of furniture space and spacing of the destination. Communication was great with each person. They knew where to put the items with minimal input. Great team. Would hire them again any day. And i have as this is my 3rd move with Excalibur.

Moving day is never fun, especially if you're travelling 45 minutes away to a new home. However, from the moment I contacted Excalibur via Yelp, the conversation was always clear and straightforward.

They do send a representative to your location a day prior to moving, in order to provide an estimate. For example, they gave me a guess-stimate of 8.5 hours, which would cost no more than $1000. If they go over this estimate, you will not be charged more. If they finish under this timeframe, you get charged less.

On the day of the move, Guido, Julio, and Bayron arrived on time. I have to tell you - they are no nonsense and get down to business right away. Everything fragile was wrapped and promptly taken to the truck. We were in and out in under 2 hours!

We had to travel from Pasadena to Porter Ranch. Again, they arrived quickly. Mind you, we have no elevator and live on the third floor. They unloaded everything quickly and asked every single time which box went where. They were very considerate and so easy to work with.

Now here is the highlight - the entire move was completed in 5 hours!!!! I have found my go-to moving company and will recommend them to my friends and family.

Edit: I received a call being informed that we were overcharged, since the deposit should be deducted from the total at the conclusion of the move.

Mind you, Guido the foreman, had verbally told me that we would be charged a total, minus the deposit, so this was absolutely a honest mistake.

Excalibur is an honest company and again, will employ their services if I move and recommend them to friends and family.

Tony and his crew were amazing!!! My experience was so seamless that I will exclusively use Excalibur for any future moves.

I have moved about 4-5 times in the past 5 years for work and this was hands down the best moving experience I've ever had.

I shopped around for quotes but only discovered Excalibur through word of mouth. Pricing is extremely competitive and the service and communication was unparalleled.

Super easy to call them up and ask questions and they will call you the week of the move to review the logistics of the move date. The deposit is really cheap ($50) and the quote was spot on.

The move was extremely quick and the 3 movers wasted no time. We had a decent size apartment with large furniture and the entire move only took 4.5 hours! And 0.5 of those hours was my apartment's fault for double booking a parking reservation intended for my movers.

The movers are incredibly kind and hard workers who took really good care of my furniture and belongings. I can not recommend them enough!

They would've taken 3 hours but I hired them for 1 more hour totaling 4 hrs to PACK & **UNPACK** with 3 WORKERS.

You lock in the date with a $200 deposit.

This packing & unpacking service was worth every penny. They packed, Saran wrapped my room up including a heavy reclining bed and frame in no time all whilst it was pouring rain that day.

My move was seamless and painless just as you'd pray for.

Moving is such a disruptive life event. Having a well-coordinated, extremely professional, thorough, careful team of movers to help is priceless. They were able to send someone out to do a walk through of our home very quickly and it was a personal touch that other companies are lacking. I felt respected by the movers and they were even quite cheerful. Watching them in action - well, they are incredibly efficient and professional. We had some very heavy furniture pieces on a second floor with a somewhat complicated stairway and never once was I concerned for my things or the safety of the team doing the moving (which was absolutely not how I felt about the movers we used the year prior). They were also very responsive to questions and followed up afterwards to make sure everything went as planner.

I highly recommend this company. I had used them one time about 8 years prior and they have stood the test of time. Just incredibly professional and a great team. If you are looking for a truly trustworthy moving company, you've found them!!

The total cost was also extremely competitive.
