Extended Stay America - Oakland - Alameda

The highlight to this place is that it's "surface clean"- no visible issues with sheets, toilet, and tub and vinyl wood flooring which reduces dust and bacteria etc instead of carpet- no bugs . Also there's a a beautiful view of a boating dock and America at the front desk who had awesome and calm customer service.

After that- experience is beyond sub par for a place that charges anywhere from 160-220 a night ! There are tons of clean options for that price. You could be anywhere that doesn't tell you - that yoi have to exchange towels to get an extra set. I don't want to pay 160-220 for a place that is supposed to have dishes but only when u ask - do they put the dirty ones in the dishwasher. So even though you have a hotel full of guests.. you're letting a main amenity not be accessible which is what we paid for smh. Then you're encouraged to pay extra for workable wifi??? You guys don't even have food or daily cleaning service service.

You're ten times better off with an air bnb !!!! You'll pay less and get pots and pans and not have to worry about towels and maybe even get a pool and someone is hired to fully clean personally for you before your check in

Update : before checking out. Just as I thought I had to add a picture of a roach in the bathroom. We didn't even cook or eat in because getting pots was too difficult and now ... we wake up to roaches smh

I give this hotel one star due to the unprofessionalism of the general manager Dora Munoz she is extremely rude, unprofessional, inconsiderate, blamatory, accusatory without evidence she goes based off assumptions. She doesn't like children especially teenagers she's rude and wouldn't give them a key when they were locked out of our room and I wasn't on the property she laughs at you makes rude comments and blames you for things you don't do I do not recommend unless she no longer works there our rooms had roaches, centipedes and bugs biting my kids

I was in town for work and asked the front desk if there had been any thefts from vehicles recently, the answer was no, because police patrol the parking lot and it had been 6 months since an incident, over night my truck my van was broken into and all my tools were stolen, if someone had warned me this hotel was this dangerous I would have paid a little more for a nice more secure one, Imp heartbroken and I don't know how I'm going to replace everything that was loss ,billion dollar hotel chain that is dangerous and has no security, stay way from theses hotels

1. Toilet did not flush consistently 

2. Bathtub had dark ring around tub.

3. Towels were dingy. You had to turn in towels before receiving clean towels which were dingy and stained.

4. Bed sheets had stains. Looked too used.

5. Should not have to ask for kitchen items. 

6. Dingy shower curtains 

7. Breakfast items were minimal.

8. Floor was dusty under bed.

9. Roach crawling up the wall

10. The rooms are overdue for updates.

11. A little dingy and musty

12. Windows need washing. Cannot see out clearly. 

13. Shades need replacement 

14. Two hundred something a night is utterly ridiculous for this environment

Awful customer service, awful place. Arrived here at 2AM for them to mess up my information and not give me a room. LADY WAS RUDE AS HELL.

The receptionist shirt was dirty she had like brown stuff on it so I shoulda knewwww smh Room smelled like urine, the front desk recommended we turn the AC on and open the windows. Now we gotta be cold smh then he gave us another room and the smoke detector needed a battery i was not about to get comfortable and the place had that " roachy smell" I left within an hour and didn't even bother to ask for a refund cause what are the chances ??

Uninhabitable. Roaches, roaches, roaches... Room seemed fine enough when we arrived, but the following morning, they were crawling in and out of the woodwork (literally!)... All life stages and cycles of them, too :( Stepped on 17 throughout the morning with lights FULL ON, can't imagine what was going on throughout the night with lights out as we slept.

There's no amount of checking through our luggage that could satisfy this *Ick* - who knows what visitors we are now about to take home with this.

Uninhabitable. Absolutely uninhabitable.

The rooms do not look like they do in the pictures. The entire hotel smells like weed/cigarettes. The couch and chairs in the room had dark stains on them. The elevator sounded/felt horrible so we decided to take the stairs throughout our stay. Our room keys stopped working after the first time we used them. All of the towels in our room were stained.

Not clean..looks clean but is really dirty.A bunch of bugs were coming from the top of the ceiling flying bugs im not sure what they were I grabbed my things and immediately left on the 4th day this happened.On the first day I almost wiped my face with a towel that had a bug in it.I don't recommend.

Really terrible place to stay! Super overpriced and not worth the money at all. A disgrace to the extended stay america brand.

Stayed here for a few nights recently and it was a horrible experience. The door closes but does not lock. Major safety concern. The room smells like dog urine mixed with excessive odor repellent spray and excess chemicals. The walls are super thin and you can hear people coughing while you sleep. There's no pots or pans or silverware in the rooms, you have to call to request them and the cutting board I got was broken. There's no shampoo or conditioner or lotion in the bathroom.

There was also no parking due to the construction trucks taking up all the spots. The whole 1st floor was being renovated so dust was everywhere, the lobby was tapped off.

Breakfast consists of coffee and muffins. I've stayed at many other extended stay and it's nothing like this.

Horrible! I would not stay here especially for how much they are charring per night. Not worth the $, better experience at a motel, the times that it did work it was super slow, worse than dial up. Couldn't even load a website without taking 5 min.
