Fall rental rates are the lowest of the year and the best time to travel. All Yelp customers get early pick ups (when available) and an extra 5% discount on the daily rate. We specialize in RV service, rentals, sales and consignment of travel trailers, motor homes. Rentals for short term vacation and tail gating parties and long term temporary housing needs. We help owners lease out or sell their RV on our consignment sales and lease back programs.

We do long term rentals with a two month minimum. We also work with a few different banks for financing as well if you are interested in purchasing.

Dave in Service was great this past weekend. We were passing through this weekend when it appeared our tires on our motorhome were low.
We knew Family RV was close because we have dealt with them in the past and always been happy with the service.
We were greeted very nicely by the office staff and Dave took time out of his day to help us out! we just wanted to use the air, but he took time to check every tire to make sure they were safe.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 1 - Nitzan A.Morgan Hill, CA095Mar 20, 2023
BE CAREFUL! My husband and I rented a Class A RV for the weekend. The rental procedure was very nice at the beginning they sent us a50 minute video explaining the use of the car. We took very good care for the RV throughout the whole weekend We were charged 1600 dollars for the weekend With a 3500 Deposit. When we returned the car this morning they inspected the RV and found a small punch dot on the awning blaming us that we were the first ones to ever use the RV. They didn't release the deposit saying they need to get an estimate for fixing the damage (see attached photos for "damage") we didn't make any unresonable use of the RV. As I mentioned we took very good care of it and returned it spotless. This is something that could of happened from a birds beak. After trying to understand from them why the deposit is not being released we spoke with Dave on the phone he had a very bad attitude with us and it is the worst customer service I ever recieved. We were planning to rent with them a couple of times this year since we were really pleased with the RV itself. As speaking to Dave on the phone he sent me an invoice of 600$!!!! For the repair of this "Damage". Honestly this is taking advantage of a very good customer and looking for reasons to charge more money. Feels like a scam after we took very good care of the RV while being on the road.
The answer I received from his is that we signed when taking the RV that there is no damage to the RV. I asked him if he was expecting me to open the awning and sea with a magnifier for a small dot. then he HUNG UP THE CALL IN MY FACE.
I am truly so disappointed from the treatment I received at this place. Be careful renting from them and thinking you can trust them to be reasonable and respecting.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 2Business owner information

We have reached out to this customer in hopes of them updating their review with All the information on the damage that was found upon return but after their reply we can see that this is just going to be one of those deals where there impossible to please. We have a strict check in and out policy. Renter was given a Brand New RV. Had 2200miles on it (From the manufacture delivering the unit from Indiana). Unit had not been put on One Rental. Customer above had her friend pickup the RV and return the RV. The person who picked up the unit did the damage assessment and signed off on the unit and the awning. We allow photos to be taken, video and we allow the customer to make whatever notes they want on the check out form to ensure we are all on the same page about condition of unit.
The RV returned and check in immediately noticed scrapes along the awning caps and so upon further inspection you could see the unit has something scrape along the top passenger side of unit. The photo of the one small pin hole is not the total damage done to this unit. There were decals scraped, paint scraped, awning caps scrapped, and then the minor pin hole in which you see above. We charged the renter for one repair kit which which was under 40dollars the rest of the cost was for the scuffs, scrapes damage done to the passenger side of unit. If I could attached the check in and out photos I would do so. We hope that clears the above message about what was actually found and charged to customer. - Jay G.Sunnyvale, CA03Jun 11, 2023
I have mostly great things to say about FamilyRV and other than that some words of advice for the challenges and risks for renting an RV.
There is so much to appreciate about FamilyRV. Having never rented an RV before, our adventure started with a tour of FamilyRV with Chrystal to see the different vehicles that we could rent. She was very helpful in walking us through all the different RV options they have available. The office team made the paperwork easy. We couldn't get the insurance rider from our auto insurance company, but Briana helped us with the process of paying for insurance for our vacation.
There is a lot to learn to use an RV for a vacation. There are many systems to learn such as the black water (septic) system, gray water system, freshwater system, propane, and electrical. On top of that, if your RV has a push out wall, there's a learning curve to operate it and make sure you don't damage the vehicle in the process. It's a lot to learn, but thankfully Dave's videos on how to operate the different systems and his explanations on checkout were really helpful to get us comfortable with operating the RV.
Another good thing about FamilyRV is that you can expect to get an RV that both looks good with all systems in working order. But I get it that FamilyRV or any RV rental place needs to be picky about the condition in which their vehicles are returned. On pick up, Dave went through in great detail to make sure I observed all systems that were in working order and we went through all the tiny bumps and scrapes on the exterior and interior surfaces. I was invited to take photos (I suggest to BE SURE TO TAKE LOTS OF PHOTOS OF ANY PRE EXISTING DAMAGE), which I was glad I did, because Dave forgot to note one scrape on the exterior ladder on pick-up but I had a photo of the scrape to prove that the scrape was pre-existing damage when I returned the RV.
So the only downside of renting an RV is the possibility that things can get damaged. It's the risk you take. FamilyRV rents equipment that is in great condition and they expect their customers to treat their equipment well or pay the cost of returning their equipment in great condition. It's not a defect of how they do business, it's just how they do business.
Our family would totally rent from FamilyRV again when we decide to do another RV vacation.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Maryan ross B.Fremont, CA635742Apr 1, 2022

My family and I have rented RVs for years...
... and I must say that the team at Family RV is great and I'd highly recommend them.
From Briana to Dave to Crystal (and several others in their team), they all provided great service and care for the customer.
I actually came across Family RV after watching a Youtube video with Dave doing a walk-thru of one of their rental RVs.
The amazing thing is that the video that Dave and Biana made was even better than some of the best videos on Youtube about that particular RV. It really showed their attention to detail and care for the customer and I ended up renting from them the very next day and took my family on a memorable road trip.
Thank you to the team at Family RV.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

I rented a travel trailer for a one month stay visiting family in San Jose. We pulled it to several weekend destinations with our granddaughters, and lived in it during the week. The trailer was very clean when we picked it up, and checking it out was smooth. When we returned it, the check-in process was equally smooth. I was met by Dave on his golf cart as I pulled in to the Gilbert location. He led me to a parking spot for the trailer, and we went through the trailer together. Dave then escorted me into the front office where Brianna walked me through the paperwork, which only took a few minutes. All-in-all, great customer service, great trailer, and a great experience!

Family RV made it easier for our family to enjoy the outdoors during COVID-19. Our experience was top noche and Dave, Vinny and Briana made it all possible and countless other staff (don't remember their names). Pricing was great vs rvshare an outdoorsy.
We rented a Thor Quantum 2021, Class C. It was wonderful, new and clean.
Tips:
- Make sure to check with your car insurance carrier to see if your auto policy will cover the RV rental.
- Make sure to ask Dave as to how to make the RV go on lower gears to go up hills. Since our RV was new and had different electronics, it was difficult to figure out.
- Pay the extra $250 for trip cancellation insurance. With COVID-19, you will never know what is going to happen next.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Sarah R.San Jose, CA5371Oct 15, 2019
Our experience with Family RV was Outstanding!!!
Where to begin....well lets start off by saying KUDOS! To April and Dave. Both helped out in making our rental as easy as possible. Great Job Dave on the instruction video. This helped out so much.
Special thanks to Crystal (sorry i didn't get the pleasure of meeting you in person) but email and phone call was all i needed to know this is our GO TO place from now on. I even got my cousin to rent a smaller RV to go on our trip. We are very happy and pleased with FAMILY RV hands down. Thank you all......until our next venture see you soon.

TLDR: Called on a Friday, and by Saturday they had my RV dropped off and ready to go at the campsite - Redwood RV Resort in Santa Cruz. They saved me in a pinch, and were incredibly friendly and easy to work with start to finish... Would absolutely rent here again and recommend to others.
Detail: April and Brianna both helped me several times by phone to get the rental setup. Each was incredibly helpful and relaxed, and even asked my opinion on a new, electronic contract signature process that worked much better than needing to print, sign and scan back. Dave - grey beard and ball cap - dropped off the RV and called me with updates on the way. He was super friendly, helpful and relaxed as he explained everything - zero pressure to ask quickly, he stayed 'till we were comfortable. He also left his cell #, and 3 days later he picked up right away when I called with a quick question. RV was just what we needed, a Thor 22E. The very few things amiss (missing stovetop cover, tiny leak in a roof light in torrential rain) were noted before and after and had no impact at all on our adventure. Awesome experience all around.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
