Five Points Fitness is the crown jewel of gyms in Marin County. The manager, Cary is a professional and an effective gym manager. This gym has good parking, is very clean (for a gym), and provides a safe, healthy, fun gym vibe.
Also, equipment that is "down" is repaired in speedy fashion (unlike other gyms !). Numerous sanitizing spray bottles w/ clean-up towels are positioned throughout the gym for equipment clean-up.
I give 5 points an exceptional rating in gym equipment. They have at least 3+ fitness machines for every conceivable exercise, thus, you can always find an available machine for any desired exercise.
5 Points Fitness has Cybex, Star Trac, Hoist, Technogym, Atlantis, Nautilus, Strive Smart Strength, Paramount, Life Fitness, Matrix, and other fitness equipment.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Alex J.San Francisco, CA17Jul 4, 2024
I've been a member of several gyms all over Marin -- including Bay Club -- and can confidently say that Five Points Fitness is the greatest bang for your buck. If you're actually interested in working out, this is the gym for you. If you want to pay ridiculous fees for a luxurious locker room, towel service, and fancy lotions, go elsewhere.

Pros:
- Extremely friendly and helpful staff
- A lot of equipment to choose from
- Decent hours opening at 5am on the weekdays and 7am on the weekends
Cons:
- Cleanliness: Apparently this place is cleaned everyday but Sunday. I find that hard to believe as I stared a large layer of dust on the bottom of my treadmill, top of the mirrors, and wall. I would not touch the emergency button if my life depended on it, it was so dirty.
- Gym cat in woman's locker room- is this even sanitary?
- People are not mandated to wear headphones- was not planning on having to listen to the person watching a movie next to meHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Marc W.Novato, CA21278May 26, 2023Updated review
Ok Five Points once again deserves kudos, so here's an update, Five Points consistently has great friendly customer service from front desk to Cary in mgmt.
My son loves the gym equipment, vibe and members. It has that old school get your workout on gym vibe yet comfortable and casual with fellow friendly members.
Competitively priced for the size and equipment as a gym. Do yourself a favor go by or call and check it out. Cary as the general manager really sets the tone with his leadership. He will take the time to connect and help you regardless of the matter at hand. I really appreciate the friendly professionalism aka customer service. I and my son feel valued as members.
Tip is one of the two trainers and he is just genuinely nice, experienced and very knowledgeable, I don't know about other trainer but I'm sure awesome too as this is the culture at Five Points Fitness in Corte Madera.
Thank you for reading..:-)Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Nov 11, 2021Previous reviewOk, here's another advocacy for a great local business due to it doing a great job at being a business in our community, my son and I joined Five Points Corte Madera about 5 months ago, actually he joined first then me. They have competitive prices, lots of equipment to choose from, space and not overcrowded. Front desk staff is consistently friendly, helpful and engaging to customers.
It's important to get the word out about such places to support them, I know I am one of many happy customer both past and present, I'm grateful for Cary the manager and his staff special shout out to Eric, Rami and a few others whose name I forget. I'm bad with names sorry.
The gym is clean and has a positive vibe, I have found other gym customers very friendly too and this is important when working out. They have great variety of weights and cardio options and classes too.
I recently had an Ebay fraud charge forcing me to get a new credit card number and I forgot to update them and a few other businesses (Fastrak etc). They were friendly about not being able to collect the money, mentioned it to my son on his way in and still let him use the gym, he called me and I called gym for help, Eric was great, Cary was great in this disconnect on my end. My son and I had two different billing dates and Cary easily with push of a button gave us same date to make my tracking monthly charges easier. Thank you Cary.
Let's support local businesses and especially ones that have a great culture and strive and achieve in providing to us the community excellent services and valuing our patronage through it's relationships with the customer base.
Thank you Cary and staff for caring and valuing your customer base. Thank you for your efforts to do, do to caring and efforts to match, the experience is a very consistent positive for me and my son and it has become a home away from home for him and can be for you and your family too.
Give them a call or stop by and speak with someone, I know you'll be glad you do make that positive change mind body soul and have a positive experience in your lifestyle choice and transition. No, I don't own stock in Five Points just a happy customer and wanna share with you why..:-)
See for yourself!

This gym is SUCH a great find. I'm an out-of-towner and I usually go to another gym that's been here for years.
SO glad I checked this place out! So many machines, cool vibe, cool patrons, music isn't too loud, nobody is scream-grunting, the machines are clean.
And a lot of machines. Like I can mix up my workout every time. Stair masters are all working, cables, weights, cardio stuff, etc.
Not only that but everyone who works here is very sweet. Very nice. From the younger folks, to Cary, the manager, just authentic good people.
It feels like a small neighborhood type gym like in the movies.
Thanks so much.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Russ F.Etna, CA02Oct 17, 2023
The equipment at this gym is pretty good, although they could definitely use more abdominal machines. They gym is never crowded so there is rarely a wait to use any machine or to get into a shower. Most of the members are teenagers, which means that the equipment is frequently abused and often out of order. I find the membership fees to be ludicrously high for access to a single gym that has no pool, jacuzzi, steam room, working sauna, basketball court, rock climbing wall, etc. Like many other reviewers, I also had issues getting a response to questions/issues. Administration could definitely do better.

The best affordable gym in Marin County!
Fabulous gym, that takes pride in keeping up their equipment, cleanliness and not over selling memberships. Easy access from hwy 101, with plenty of parking. Wish they still had childcare, bay club is the only gym that accommodates children.
Very well run facility. Highly recommend!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - David B.Novato, CA5796346Aug 26, 2021
Five Points does not value their members. Bullying is allowed. Harassment is allowed. Owners take the sides of their friends rather than listen to several members complaining about the same person.
If you decide to patronize this gym, I just hope you don't run into one of the many older men who think they run the place. They are nasty, rude, will take weights off your bench press while you're in the middle of a set and then play the victim to staff. Even threaten you.
I highly recommend that women stay away from this gym. It has quite a few creepy men of all ages who will stare at you as you workout. It's a very "old school, back in my day" gym.
On the positive side of things, I always enjoyed the friendly and helpful staff. Good selection of equipment, and the personal trainers. It's a shame that their hard work is tarnished by the actions and behaviors of ownership as well as a handful of rotten members. I can only hope that things improve. But I feel it's important for honest and unbiased reviews to be posted to give new members a well rounded view of what the Five Points experience is really like. I hope your experience is different than mine.Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Nick L.San Francisco, CA035Mar 4, 2023
Fantastic gym. Go to the one in Corte Madera. Love it. Clean, plenty of different machines and an awesome selection of various cardio equipment. Just a great gym!

I've been a member for five years or so -- it's a small but well-equipped gym, reasonably priced for the area, not too crowded, with a fairly diverse (or at least welcoming) clientelle. I go 3 times a week in the late morning and never have a problem getting the machine or space I want. Classes aren't my thing, but there appear to be many if it's yours.
What moved me to submit this review, though, was a gratifying (and complimentary) training session with Rain, who was particularly pleasant and proficient at optimizing my routine. She pointed out how I could get better results with the exercises I was doing and suggested a couple of things I could do that would compliment my routine. I'm gonna bring the summary she wrote up to my next exercise and put her stuff into practice.I
