      Updated review

Updating my review. I've now been a member at FORMA 3 years and go 4-5 times per week, usually around 9am. I regularly use use their valet, childcare service, cardio equipment, cardio classes, spin classes, weight machines, yoga classes, pool, locker room and showers/saunas. I will review each below.

VALET- FORMA shares a park lot with other force buildings. The parking spaces are limited on weekday mornings. FORMA has free valet service for when there are no park spaces available. WhenI first joined FORMA they outsourced the valet. They have since brought this service in house, and the valet crew is AMAZING! Frank, Michael, and Arturo are the first people you see upon arriving and they always have a smile on their faces, very professional, and get you into that gym without worry about your car. They also don't care if your car is dirty like mine always is, ha! These guys are "the face of FORMA" as far as I'm concerned. the place wouldn't be the same without this crew!

CHILDCARE- This service is located in Kidzville, just to the right of the check in desk. It is 2 hours per day for $25 child per month, with discounts for siblings. If you use this daily, it's something like 50 cents per child per hour. When I first joined, I had a 4 mo old. They take babies as young as 3 months. Staff was great when I started, then had a year of mediocre staff, and now it is THE BEST it's ever been in my opinion. The new staff makes my kids feel welcomed and wanted (previously they would t even be greeted and even blatantly ignored and I'd observe kids being ignored or being told mean things with previous staff, it was sad and I felt guilty leaving my children in there). Anyhow whatever changes they made to the staff have been incredible and WE ARE SO HAPPY!!! Thank you FORMA and Kidzville staff!!! I do wish Kidzville would be updated a bit- while the rest of the gym has had huge improvements and additions, poor Kidzville is still a bit... dated compared to the rest of the gym.

EQUIPMENT- they updated almost all their cardio equipment and weight machines about a year or so ago. It was unexpected, as their previous equipment seemed to work fine, but the new equipment is definitely nicer and makes for a nice experience. They seem to be proactive about making sure machines are in optimal places around the gym, and replacing bands and weights that are showing wear. There is no shortage of bikes, treadmills, ellipticalls, weights, bands... they seem to have the latest and greatest machines to try.

CLASSES- These are separated into studios, there is mind and body which has all the yoga and mindful movement classes and equipment. Then group cardio which had everything from HIIT, body power (low intensity), Zumba, dance etc., spin room which has a huge screen up front and fun classes, Pilates room downstairs which is an extra charge, and a jujitsu/self defense room (extra charge). Overall, you can find a class for anything you want.

POOL- what I might love best about FORMA is the group of aqua fit ladies and gentlemen who participate in the aqua fit classes. These ladies are dedicated and so welcoming. It was the first class I tried, just having a baby, and getting back into fitness this group and class was SO WELCOMING AND INCLUSIVE! Oh my gosh, I am so grateful for those classes and the love I felt from this group. I still love overhearing their stories friendships in the locker room. The pool is also open to families 1-4 on Sunday which is fun for the kids!

LOCKER ROOM/SAUNAS- this is my sanctuary. While I suspect the men's locker room may be nicer than the women's (looking at Picts online), I still enjoy the facilities. The big lockers are free while at the gym, and the small lockers can be rented for $10 a month, which for me, is worth not having to lug my makeup, hair stuff and shower stuff around everyday. I fully enjoy having time each day after my workout to sit in the sauna or hot tub, then shower and get ready for the day without my kids asking for a million things. Having the locker room to get ready or relax in after working out is the icing on the cake and I leave feeling so completely refreshed and prepared for the rest of the day. I pickup my kids feeling refreshed and ready to conquer the rest fo the day.

Overall, joining this gym has been one of the best decisions for me. I like all the options for classes & infdependent work outs, the mature members, and being able to workout without pretentiousness.

I'm at Forma as I write this. I love this gym. It has everything, the staff is great and I've made friends at the gym. However, the music is so loud that it's hard to hear my earbuds. I'd rate this gym with 5 stars if it weren't for the fact that the music discourages be from coming sometimes.

This place has really gone downhill. Membership fees keep going up and forget about bringing your college age kids with you once in a while. It's all about the dollars here . Machines are old and broken. Staff is phony and not so secretly actually dislikes the members who come here. It's like you're imposing on their own personal gym. Probably canceling soon.
Why spend money on 5 new TVs for the gym and not machines ?

Great unique classes. All inclusive weights room. Surprise party area overlooking the weights. Diverse exercise options.

Came here with a couple of friends to check out the meditation class for the first time. I was very impressed.

I expected it to be mostly just still meditation, but it was so much more. The teacher facilitated movement in the beginning, and then proceeded to guide with a guided meditation that went deep. Utilization of sound, Bowls and other equipment.

My friend got a training session and it looked pretty happy.

I feel like at some gyms I have to compromise utilizing equipment for some of my exercises, which is fine, but this literally has every piece of equipment I need for my entire work out.

Free guest passes on the first time trials.

Great locker room. Inclusive steam room and hot tub. Decent amenities.

      Highly recommend.

My main need with signing up for a gym was quality childcare. That said, I almost didn't join Forma due to a negative review of their Kidsville. I brought up my concern when reviewing membership options and they assured me the person in the mentioned review was fired due to leaving children briefly unattended. I took the plunge and joined. After a few months of being a member I can say I am THRILLED with the quality of child care we've received. I honestly feel like for the price of my gym membership my 2 year old is getting 2 hours of preschool. Every day there is a planned activity to keep the children occupied - from ornament making to coloring, to making slime, to using glue sticks to make fun art projects, etc, every day my daughter comes home with a smile.

As for the gym, it's relatively outdated but has everything necessary for a quality workout. No fluff which is really all I need!

Forma is a great gym with a variety of classes, heated outdoor lap pool and indoor/outdoor weight equipment.

A special highlight review for Pilates classes. Over the past couple of months I taken early morning Pilates classes. Yuki (instructor) provides good instruction while reading the class attendees capabilities. Based upon the attendees, He adapts and adjust the class to improve the benefits of utilizing the reformer (see pix) as well as other devices in the studio.

For me, Pilates is the ABC's.
      A. : Adaptive - reformer is adjusted to your size strength and abilities
B : Balance - noticeable improvements in balance and movement (ie hiking)
C : Core - which holds the body is much stronger and improved posture (swimmer here).

I highly recommend giving Pilates a go at Forma Gym.

      Updated review

During a morning weight training session (5am) I was threatened by another member who took the gym equipment I was working from me and then got in my face about it. A bully and a thug. As i walked away from this individual he said "Do you know who I am?" I stated, "I didn't care who he was" and he replied well you are going to find out!"
I immediately reported the incident to the front desk and the young gentleman at the desk witnessed the individual come by the desk while I was speaking to them and the bully again was yelling obscenities at me and just throwing his weight around. Seemed like some entitled guy who wanted a fight. He then proceeded to push open the door and leave the gym. Ruining my workout session and not even finishing his own.

I left the gym, after speaking with the front desk, looking around me as I left the gym. These days you never know the sanity of some people.

I received a call from the manager late morning who asked for my side of the story and I informed him what happened. He looked at the video footage and stated he needed to speak to the individual who threatened me.

I received a call later that day from the manager who stated the individual's membership had been revoked and he would no longer be welcome to the gym. He also thanked me for not escalating the situation and under the circumstances, keeping a level head. In one day the management at Forma Gym had taken care of a very serious issue.

I did feel threatened, harassed and did not feel safe coming back, but justice was served this day and I commend the staff and management for their swift response.

This review is specifically for the childcare. The rest of the gym and amenities are very nice. I've been putting off writing this until I learned that multiple other parents have had the same experience as me with their own children and I feel it's my duty to warn other parents so this doesn't keep happening.

The day after I joined, I used the gym without my baby. I went to check out the childcare room again before bringing my ~8 month old the next time. There was a baby not much older than my own sitting alone in the room without a caretaker. I waited for a good 5 minutes and nobody came. I went to the front desk to let them know about the baby left alone. The biggest concern for me is that there is no lock to the childcare room and it is directly next to the front entrance. Anyone could easily walk in, grab a baby and walk out without being noticed.

I spoke with a membership director later that day to cancel and refund my membership. It's really unfortunate, because it's a very nice gym.

Great place. Staff is fantastic, facilities are great, cleaning crew is always working on something, and being able to get a workout in without my kids tugging on me was life changing after dealing w postpartum. I've seen mixed reviews about the childcare and I do know that there are different staff members depending on what block of time you go to, but I take my kids to the M-F morning and those girls are awesome and take great care of my 1 and 3 year old. Mulain is amazing and is super easy to communicate with re: kids. Had a facial from the in house estheticians and it was the best I've ever had. And I can use the daycare while I get said facial Great community vibes.
