Finding an experienced Porsche mechanic in New York City is a God send. Nestled next to the Queensboro Bridge is the mecca of everything Porsche. 20+ rare and mint condition 911's line their parking spots. Each Porsche with its own story to tell, and Michael the owner to tell you each one. He is not your typical example of exotic car shop owner rather someone who would be recognized as the expert in Porsche cars nationally. This guy knows literally everything about Porsche. I could not stump him no matter how hard I tried. He explained to me how he grew up in the Porsche world and remembers riding around in these cars as a child. After spending 30 minutes with him I knew he was the expert I have been searching for since moving here. I found it so interesting that they had a 356C, 911S, Macan, 930, 991 Turbo's, racecars, etc. all under one roof. It is sort of a museum of Porsche history but they fix them on site. After doing immense research and finding a few Porsche shops in Long Island, Brooklyn, and New Jersey I choose Formula Motorsports due to their impeccable reputation, review, and location to Manhattan. I must say the first shop I stopped at in Brooklyn was a joke and the one uptown in NYC that claimed to be a Porsche shop uptown was actually a jaguar and range rover garage. I will not get into that experience. I was completely satisfied with every aspect of the experience with Formula Motorsports such as pricing, time frame, location, etc. It was all what I would expect if I were in Stuttgart. I am leaving such a detailed review since it is not often you get what you pay for. I did have my two cars spruced up for quite a few bucks but was worth every penny spent. If you have the means and a top quality Porsche give them a try. Be warned though they are a little picky about the Porsche's they take in even if by referral.

Michael and the team are top top notch. If you care about your car, look no further. I had a clutch replacement and cables replaced - runs like a new car. They are truly experts and enthusiasts that will give an honest assessment of what your car needs. Will be back. Michael is very responsive and a nice guy to talk all things p car.

I brought my 911 in for an engine rebuild and things could not have gone smoother. Pricing was transparent, communication was great, and the final product as described. Given all the variables with the air cooled engines, especially the 77, I was pleasantly surprised to see a quick turnaround and no additional issues. Additionally I had them refresh my gearbox and shifter assembly.

Brought in my Macan GTS for 2 year service - Michael had me in and out within a half day. These guys know what they're doing with Porsches and I'm fortunate to be local to them. Don't forget to check out the cars if Michael provides a quick tour!

So I lost my one and only key to my 2007 GT3RS- I was told by my dealership that the car would have to be towed to the dealership to create a new key and program. This wasn't possible as my car is on the second floor of a garage and no clearance for a tow truck to get to it. After calling everyone including legitimate companies and some shady ones, I tried Formula. I got a call back within 8 minutes on the Sunday after Christmas from the owner Mike. He offered to order me a new key and program it on the spot. Life saver!

Found out afterwards that I paid a little to much for the install of a Borla exhaust. But over all good experience and they do good work.

These guys are amazing. Their expertise and knowledge of the Porsche brand is unmatched. Recommend them to all my friends and family.

I met Michael when my 991.2 was nearing its 40k service interval and needed some cosmetic work done. All in all, he has helped with brake replacement, oil/air filter replacement, and replacing damaged body kit parts, as well as general tweaks and tune-ups. I had asked Michael to perform a general diagnostic on the car to make sure it could keep running in top form for the years to come and he was very detail-oriented about the issues at hand, issues to come, and clear about pricing and turnaround time. I look forward to continuing my service relationship with Michael and Formula Motorsports.

Worst body shop ever. Just do the partial painting for bumper and fender. Because they corporate with some parking garage, they just want to save money. This body shop do not really care about fixing the cars in the right way.

As soon as you say you will pay for it, they will recommend you a higher price way to fix the car.

I've had the good fortune to have owned numerous 911's over the years. I will never forget my first one, a 1986 turbo. Mark completed a pre-purchase inspection (PPI) and gave her the thumbs-up. This was after a prior PPI on a another 930 where Mark discovered the car's registration was incorrect, was "grey market", and had body work! Most recently Michael gave me some sound advice about a swap I was considering. In conclusion, if one needs mechanical work or a deep understanding of anything Porsche, Formula Motorsports should be their first stop.
