Ranel and Arnell are fantastic employees and are always willing to help provide great service. This is a SMALL parking lot where they have to stack cars to fit them all in. What does that mean? It means you may have to wait a few minutes since they have to sometimes move cars out of the way but they are doing their best to get everyone in and out. On top of it this is one of the cheapest lots in Oakland compared to other places so I think the wait is worth it.

Ultimately, if you are going to park your car often make sure you get to know the parking lot attendants. They will provide top-notch service and make sure you get out as quickly as possible.

I had planned a day trip to Oakland and everyone was saying parking was horrible so I figured why not pay the extra few bucks and save myself the hassle of finding parking. I pulled in and there was a "wait for attendant" sign, no attendant in sight. After about 30 seconds of waiting, he finally shows up and tells me its two dollars an hour (super cheap).

I opted to pay 10 dollars for 5 hours, to which he told me to pay when I leave. I ended up staying for only 4 hours and when I left he charged me 8 dollars. Parking spaces itself are a little tight but you have the option to park in 2 spaces and no one is allowed to block you in so it was no issue whatsoever.

Next time I am back in Oakland, I will pick this same parking garage. Location is great (right in the middle of chinatown), and super budget friendly.

This parking garage is just fine. Early bird parking before 10am is $10 for the day. Some valet drivers are nice, and some not-so-cheery.

It is a small garage so the parking is set up to where two cars park in one long spot...one closest to the wall and the second one in front of it. If your car is the one that is/would be blocked by the second car, you can keep your car keys. If your car is the second one, then you have to leave your key with the valet so that your car can be moved to unblock the first car.

When car is the one that is blocked, I never wait too long to have the other car moved. Hey...I'm paying $10 for the DAY for secured parking.

Horrendous. You have to give them your key and then when you want to leave the garage, they have to back out other cars so that you can drive out.

      I think it was $1.50/hour.

With early bird parking prices going up in the area, I noticed the $8 early bird pricing at Franklin 88. It's a small two level parking garage under the condo complex on the corner of 9th and Franklin. The garage is also open to hourly parking as well.

As you enter the garage, you pull up to stop sign and an attendant will stamp and give you a ticket. Then you proceed to find a spot in the garage in the lower level as the upper level with the two tiered stacked parking appears to be reserved. On the lower level, if you find a single slot space, which are at most ten slots, you can lock and keep your keys and not worry about the stacked parking system. That means if you park in back slot of the two vehicle slot, you can keep your keys, otherwise you need to give your keys to the attendant if you're in front slot. At the end of the day, you pay the attendant at the booth by the entrance and if you're parked in the back slot, you will need the attendant to move the car in front. It's a little inconvenient, but the attendant works hard to move the cars so people can get out of the garage.

For all day parking at the early bird price of $8 is very reasonable, if you can deal with a little inconvenience in getting your car out of the garage.

It was pretty straight forward, self parking this week. Very reasonable rate, for about 5 hours I paid ten dollars.

Where do I begin?? This place is probably the worst parking garage I have ever parked at, and I've parked in numerous cities for conferences and travel.

The attendant at the garage told me to park in an area where it was dark to accommodate other drivers parking space. There was a yellow beam pole surrounding the foundation of the pole and I backed up slowly, but the pole was situated so high that it was in a blind spot for me to see and there was also not enough lighting in the area.

I reported this to the attendant just to prevent any future liabilities and then the attendant told me that I was "stupid" for parking so close even though I was trying to accommodate customers. His words were, "in my 7 years I've worked here, I have never met anyone stupid enough to park like that." Then he goes and asks my gf "if she even had a driver's license". Afterwards, when I question him about his verbal tirade to my gf, he goes on and denies everything he said, probably in order to cover his butt. I am a health professional, so I am very adamant about documenting every word and event that happens around me.

I demanded to speak to his manager David to inform him about the situation but also to express the rudeness of his worker and how unprofessional he was during our interactions. His worker goes on and says that I am asking for his manager to pay for damages, which I did not. My main concern was to notify him of safety concerns I had with his parking lot and to avoid future problems arising from other patrons. He informed me he would handle it and give me a phone call back, but I have not received a call since the incident yesterday around 3pm. STAY AWAY from this garage, you are better off paying or parking on the streets of Oakland.

This garage gave me no problems. I came here on a Saturday morning around 9:30am and only paid $6 for the whole day. How cheap is that?! I was in Oakland for an event in the convention center and it was just a couple blocks away. I left my car here for about 9 hours no problem. I paid before parking and the worker told me to park in the bottom level against the wall. I had no issues with finding a parking spot that early and no problems with any cars blocking me when I left around 7pm. The only issue would be having a safer walkway if you walk back to your car on the bottom level. You basically walk on the same ramp as the cars. Considering parking costs, $6 for the whole day is totally cheap! I'd be back to this garage

Make sure you are one of the first cars in (~7:00am) so you can park your car yourself. I would advise to park in a single stall and not park in a double stall as it will require you to leave your keys with them which means they can access your car and move it at any time. I witnessed one of the "valets" try to back into a stall only to swipe the rear fender of another car. He pretended like nothing happened. When the garage is full its complete unorganized chaos. Make sure your auto insurance is on par to cover any comprehensive claims and if possible take pictures of all angles of your car before you leave.

My friend introduced me to this parking garage! For as little as $8, you can park in Oakland Chinatown area for the whole day for $8! Just come in before 10am!

This is the worst parking garage in all of history!! They have these parking spaces where another car can block you in but they don't make sure that they have the keys for those vehicles blocking other cars.. i was stuck waiting for half an hour cause they didn't do their job correctly!!! They don't even bother making up for the time wasted either!!
