Not mentioning any names but unfortunately there are two staff members here who are super cold, aloof, unfriendly, and extremely unhelpful. So sad. If you come often enough you probably know who I am referring to. But just stay away from them and don't let them affect your day - just look for someone else to help you. This is still a wonderful store.

Condescending employees working in the paint store. They talk to me like I'm an idiot and are so rude. I won't be returning. It's a shame since this is in my neighborhood. Employees possibly on the spectrum bc of complete lack of social skills/human decency.

The only KIND and NORMAL employee is Robert.

We live out of town and stumbled across this 100+ year old store. Loved it! We purchased a holiday gift and enjoyed the miniature amusement park set in front of the store. This is a treasure of a local SF shop and not many small businesses like this anymore. Please support small and local business.

Excellent Service, resulting from strong knowledge and actually caring about their customers. Gives them a small town community hardware store feel, with the inventory one would expect in a city. Love this place.

This is a solid neighborhood hardware store that you can get everything you need for the house.

I'm impressed with the variety of things they have in addition to the standard hardware store items: kitchenware, glassware, office supplies, patio furniture, bathroom supplies and other household items. It's essentially a fusion of Walgreens, Target, Staples, and Home Depot in one.

I found when many stores were out of cleaning products due to supply issues I could always find them here probably because many people don't' know they sell cleaning products. They also rent steam cleaners for the carpet. The back room has a seasonal section selling patio furniture during the summer or Xmas decorations during the fall.

There are 3 store cats that roam the establishment. They don't show their face nearly as much as Lilly the Michael's Liquor store cat which is located catty corner (pun intended!) to Fredericks but whenever I see one it's always exciting.

I just saw on the news the new rules to go shopping. I think it's a great idea to have one on one. I think it would be a good idea to have people shop by appointment only at all stores.. Maybe that's similar thing of what you're doing now I am not sure. It's for the safety of the customers as well as the store. I don't live in san francisco but I wanted to express my thoughts.
