Fred's Burger

The new owners, Michael and Amy, are very friendly and Amy cooks my burger just the way I like it. Has a little char flavor and the double burger fills my appetite, I think on Fridays, they give you free fries. I come to the place once or twice a week now. It's worth a try if you want a good burger.

Front to back good quality, good food, and excellent service. Great price value!

I had the cheeseburger with cheddar cheese w/ grilled onions and husband had a cheese burger with wild fries.

Everything was absolutely delicious!

PROS- Service, the owner was working the counter and she was wonderfully helpful and personable.

Parking-restaurant is in a strip mall, parking is plentiful

Interior is a bit small but is pleasantly decorated

CONS- the area has a notable homeless problem and I approached 3 times for money

MIX BAG--the burgers were unfortunately fairly mediocre, not bad but not notable. I was hoping for a burger that would stand out and it didn't happen. I thought the fries were well above average and are recommended

This is absolutely the best burger I've EVER had ..... period. Not since the last great burger I've eaten... EVER! The owners and staff were exceptionally kind and proud of the food being served. From the warm hello walking in, a little hype up the food while paying, then the staff and OWNER checking in during the meal. It is exactly how you want to see a restaurant run. I felt like the VIP of this little burger joint, even though there were plenty of other customers being treated the same! I'm just blown away and think I found burger heaven!

The young gal at the register was the sweetest! I told her the burger place needs to be in a busier area of town or perhaps get a food truck to advertise the food! I'd love to see them cater events! The menu is so simple that it's doable! But everyone needs to experience the way a hand smashed grilled patty is supposed to taste. Nothing complicated, seasoned perfectly, and the crunch of excellent fries complimenting the burger. Veggies were fresh and delicious!

Now the milkshake! When you can taste the cream in the ice cream.... you know there is no cheap ice cream here. It's perfectly thick and delicious! Excellent end to a wonderful meal!

I'll be dreaming of Fred's until next time!

Dude, I went again today and was so excited about my burger I didn't take a picture AGAIN. Just come enjoy yourself a fresh yummy burger. The owners I met last time weren't here and the food didn't lack the same standards they brought. Worth the money!!!

This place was delicious! Went there for the first time today. My husband and I got a double cheeseburgers. They were huge! Juicy and cooked to perfection. The boys got a grilled chicken and fried chicken burger and the girl got the tenders kids meal. Everyone enjoyed their food. The staff was amazing even met the owner. The restaurant is mall but very nice with an out door patio area. Will definitely be coming back. Only got a pic of my food.

Why does this place only have ~280 reviews? After a very long (VERY LONG) time, I think I've had the burger - PERIOD! It was such a euphoric experience - 10/10.

My burger was delicious! Well seasoned , I could really taste the char broiled meat , and produce was super fresh . Their fries are a must have! They are crispy and satisfying, especially if you opt for the "Wild" style, you won't be disappointed. I also had the pleasure of tasting their cookie and cream milkshake . It's sweet and creamy without being too sweet. It was the perfect combo with my cheeseburger and fries.

Service is super friendly and personable, with the owners going the extra mile to ensure guests feel welcomed. They have indoor seating and plenty of outdoor seating on the covered patio. So bring your pups , they are definitely dog friendly!

Double Cheeseburger meal with everything, add BEEF BACON, jalapeño, grilled onions. Oh, you haven't tried that combination before? Just call it the Eric Burger! You're welcome!

I saw this new burger place on my way to class and since I was early, I decided to stop in and see what they were about. The proud franchise owner greeted me with a smile and proceeded to tell me about the halal meats (read beef bacon) that were used and the freshly made patties that were delivered daily. Honestly, after she said "beef bacon" everything else may as well been blah, blah, blah because she had me, hook, line and sinker. I wasn't even hungry when I stopped in, but I digress...

Simply put, the burger was great! It was cooked perfectly and quite juicy. The bacon and grilled onions did a wonderful dance on my tastebuds and the jalapeños gave a nice finishing kick. I'm not sure if pepper jack cheese was an option but that would have put it over the top! I couldn't honestly tell you that gluten-free fries made a difference in the taste but the fries were also perfectly cooked with a satisfying outer crunch and soft inside.

The only minor thing I could even think to nitpick is the fountain drink dispenser was running out of syrup so my refill was diluted. But I had already been informed that they were switching brands so that was not surprising.

Overall, this was a great find and I will definitely visit again when I am in Elk Grove area. Excellent job!

My dad and I love trying new burger spots and Fred's is one that's been on our list but haven't had a chance to try until this weekend. When we walked in we were immediately greeted by one of the owners, Michael. He was really friendly and you can tell that he loves what he does which is a huge plus. My parents had the single cheeseburger and I had to try the double cheeseburger. We stuck with the regular fries. The burgers were amazing! Full of flavor and the bread (potato bun?) was perfect. The spot is small but there is a lot of outdoor seating. I noticed a lot of people complaining about the homeless but I didn't notice any. We went on a Saturday afternoon with my 7 month old and felt safe. I grew up in the neighborhood so I'm always aware of my surroundings. My wife got a little upset with me since she's also been wanting to try this place. Just another excuse to come back and try the other options. Highly recommend!
