We signed up with Full Gardening Services a couple months ago and have been happy so far. They come every other week to service our relatively small front- and backyards with standard lawn care, plant trimming and leaf blowing (electric required in Palo Alto) for $65 per month. We found them through my in-laws, who are based in San Mateo and have been using the service for a couple years. In our direct experience thus far, the staff varies a bit over time, but the guys have been courteous and thorough.

Relative to most of the gardeners we've dealt with in the past, these guys run a fairly large and professional operation. The good news in my mind is that we seem to get the benefits of a real organization, but without any apparent price premium (their quotes were the same or lower than those of independent guys).

This larger organization also means that they offer greater geographic reach (they're in Burlingame but serve much further South) and range of services (they were able to send a guy out to successfully move 2 small maple trees for us within a days' notice).

I just bought my first home and called several different services, but Full Gardening Service was by far the most honest and attentive company I encountered.
They have been in the Peninsula for over 25 years and the Manager was aware of what was best for my garden and my needs. The price for weekly service is very reasonable. Highly recommend them!

You have to love a small company that has made it in this very competitive industry. 30+ years! It has seen the Bay Area grow. We are proud to serve this community and all the lovely homes as our climate changes we will too. Count on us!!

I've used Full Gardening for about a year. At first, they seemed to do a good job keeping my rental property looking good.They charge me $80 a month for bi-weekly service of the small front and back yard. But after a year of their care, it's clear they're not doing a good job. The yard is now mostly weeds, they trim plants that they shouldn't, and don't cut back stuff that needs to be. They've maintained a fountain grass that volunteers in the middle of the patio. It's as if they don't know much about plants. I've made four requests for mulch to no effect. Neighbors started commenting on the looks of the place, saying it's really gone downhill. So, between their poor work and not being able to get any response from them, I'll be changing gardeners.

I would recommend using Full Gardening Services for any of your gardening needs. I had a large clean up project in my back yard and I have to say they did a great job. My only complaint is that they only sent one person for such a big job and it took him all day (I was told it would only take a few hours). Otherwise, they were very friendly and was able to do my project within a couple of days of my request.

My HOA was looking at our expense and noticed that Landscaping was costing us over $100,000 a year. I spoke with Steve @ Full Gardening Serive who came and inspected our HOA. His bid was $85,000 and his work has actually been better then the other company. We even had to have a couple of odd jobs performed by his crew on short notice. Everyone at the company has been nice to deal with. Thank you guys for saving us close to $20,000 a year. We can do a lot with that money :)

They have been working for us for several years. They are okay. Not expensive. When you ask them to do something specific, they normally listen and carry out.

We just bought a new little home in San Mateo, and since Full Gardening Service has been servicing our home and my parents for years we did have to think twice before calling them. They have very competitive rates and are fully licensed and bonded. So no worries when we have to have any big projects done.
