Food was delicious. I ordered Pozole and it came with all the fixings. It was delicious.
My daughter ordered came asada torta and she loved it. The is my go to spot when visiting San Francisco.
The down side is limited street parking, but with the little hassle. Quick service, nice ambiance.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Michael W.San Francisco, CA1444628Aug 9, 2024Updated review
Don't know why.... But I gave this place another try and again was disappointed.
Waitress was very nice! Guacamole was not that great very little seasoning and has a tinge of brown to it. After we ordered our food, I could hear the microwave being ran so I can only imagine that it's all just reheated. My Chile Reino was oily and had other vegetables stuffed inside of it which I have never had at anywhere else. My enchilada had a heaping mound of sour cream on the top it which just ruined it for me. The overwhelming smell of the cleaners they use in this place ruined it for me. We paid 63.00 for a meal that was very subpar. Could have had a better dinner at a taco truck.
I know this place has been around a long time but I do not understand what the draw to it is.
Service was 5 stars.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Oct 25, 2018Previous reviewCame here today and was waited on by a very nice server. Sat down and ordered lunch which came out pretty quickly. The food was sort of mediocore I ordered a chicken taco salad.
I gave two stars to this place for the nice staff and decent food. My main issue with this place was that I sat next to a column and it wreaked of a combination of mop water and wet dog................. Not what I want to smell as I eat. - May 31, 2024
Major props for being so authentic.
We were the only non speaking Spanish people there.
Very fresh ingredients and food.
Flavor isn't our style though. Our beef enchiladas were a bit dry. The quessabirria was a mixture of lamb and beef. So if you don't like gamey foods, you won't like this. I like gamey meats, but this wasn't seasoned enough, and the broth is very salty.
I felt the birria needed more flavor. And for almost $9 for ONE side entree birria, it's not worth it.
The cripsy taco was okay, nothing to write home about.
My friends combo #3 beef enchiladas were a bit burned. Like they had been sitting under the oven too long. My enchilada plate wasn't burnt, but the asada was also dry, the cheese was burnt, and the beans weren't even worth eating. The rice was good though.
3 stars for solid average.
This is a cash only place.Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 4Oh no 0 - Fiona Y.Berkeley, CA11021312Aug 24, 2024
They have the nicest staff and most delicious food with fresh ingredients and generous portions. The outdoor seating is especially gorgeous in style and covered in greens on weekends for brunch.
They are cash-only but have an ATM machine on site that makes forgetful customers' experiences a lot easier! 5+ starsHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jul 27, 2024Updated review
I've come here many times sense and each time I leave so happy and satisfied. I finally tried something different, the chilaquiles were delicious. I can't give this place enough stars for how tasty the food is and how kind the staff is.

Wow am I glad that I chose this. I got the pozole which was absolutely delicious complimented with all the fixings. I'm hungry gal and I was impressed by the portion and took about half of it home. I got the menudo to go for my friend who absolutely loved her soup as well. The service was very kind and attentive. They have an extensive menu so there's lots of options to try and I can't wait to come back.

Was recommended to come here for the chilaquiles and they did not disappoint! Really delicious and full of flavour. A building spice that isn't overpowering. The nopales super burrito with chorizo was also fantastic. Make sure to ask for some salsa on the side. This may be one of my new fave Mexican spots in The Mission!

A decent and cheap Mexican place - the food is really simple but also I wasn't that pleased with my dish.
Good:
- The prices are great - about $11 for an entree and it feels like you get a really good deal
- Portion sizes are huge
Bad:
- There were flies around and it felt a little more messy
- Hard to get the attention of servers and the service was slow
- The enchiladas were a little bland
Overall wouldn't come back but this place felt authentic and that it was a local business.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jessica T.San Francisco, CA01939Aug 22, 2024
I used to love this place. Decided to come back today, food had no flavor. Chips were stale, tortillas were not freshly made. Everything tasted reheated. Service was also bad. No one came to check on us and place was empty. Will not be coming back.

The most delicious salsa verde on top of my huevos divorsiados! I love the table salsa and the waitress that's always there is super super nice. Next time I have to try their enchiladas! Will be coming back. Great little spot

Very friendly and family oriented Mexican restaurant. The owner is super personable and came over to chat with us at the table.
I love that their Michelada's are served with the caguamas the pozole was also amazing and served hot with all of the fixings. Inside is beautiful and well lit.
Not sure about parking, as my friends and I walked here. Overall, would definitely recommend to anyone in the area.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
