Game On

My kids used to come to this building when it was Studio Grow. Now they're older and need different activities and so this new business is perfect for them.

Our family loved playing all the games, especially the rope one and the whack a mole. Maybe the one we couldn't do too many times was the scent one as it could get nauseating if you do it too much. But we loved the teamwork required to solve the games.

The owners were welcoming and very helpful.

We can't wait for them to build out additional rooms so we can come try them.

Went here a few weeks ago with some UC Berkeley colleagues and it had such a fun time! I would describe it as a multi-room puzzle experience, but you honestly have to see it for yourself.

A great alternative to escape rooms with much more variety and still challenging for adults. All the rooms are differently themed with intricate mechanics, decorations, and sensory details,

A great date night activity, but also a viable option for staff retreats or group community building. They also offer a space with tables for eating/drinking. Discount for students as well which is always a plus in a college town.

Honestly I haven't had this much fun in a while and I'll definitely be back! The owners are so nice and really make this an immersive experience with attention to detail. Looking forward to their new rooms which will expand their activity options in the future.

!!!!! Best business in Berkeley, hands down. As a puzzle lover, I can't recommend Game On enough. This is a must-visit spot if you enjoy riddles, brain teasers, escape rooms, and the like. All ages welcome! Excited for what they're building next.

My bf booked us a visit for a date night with no idea what to expect. The pictures online don't do the experience enough justice-- this is SO COMPLICATED LOL. AND SO FUN. I can't even imagine the combined creativity, engineering wizardry, dedication, and sheer intelligence it takes to build physical puzzles like this. HUGE PROPS TO THE FOUNDERS :D

Our reservation was around 2 hours long. We were welcomed by one of the founders, James (?), who walked us through what to expect and provided a key card lanyard for our locker and game room access. After watching an intro video and stowing our things away, we had free rein to explore the rooms.

There's currently 6 rooms, with puzzles specific to the number of players you have in your group (2-4); and for each group, there are 2 levels you can play. So, the next time we come back with friends, there will be entirely new puzzles to do.

Each room has unique puzzles that utilize different senses and require vastly different solutions. The key cards log your progress as you go. You can attempt the rooms as many times as you like-- for us, we solved one level in 1 go, while another took us 9 LOL. We were using all brain cells today :')

We took the entire reserved time and still had 1 whole room untouched. And they still have tons of rooms in progress!!!!! Ten out of five stars. The second the new rooms open, we are HAULING ASS to come back. When we left, I went to their site and hit subscribe to that newsletter SO FAST.

NOTE: Expect some physical activity-- would recommend sneakers and breathable clothes. Some rooms will get you working up a sweat. Doable in sandals (like me lol) but I would try something more agile!

We are so grateful to the team at Game On for providing a fun and memorable experience for our son's birthday! We brought a large group, which we worried might even be too large ... since packs of middle school boys can get feral. But the kids had a blast exploring and playing, and we had a blast hearing them laugh and walk around exclaiming "This is so awesome!" They willingly put their phones/devices into lockers and stayed engaged in the puzzle rooms, exploring the place for the full 2+ hours, and they all seemed delighted and lit-up the whole time. There was zero whining, zero "I'm bored," and lots of giggling and friendly competition.

The games are challenging and brain-teasing even for adults, so if you're reading this and thinking about having a party for kids, know that it's challenging and the rooms do take concentration and focus. I think all ages can have fun there, and our group loved it, but it's definitely geared toward older teens and adults. They have beer on tap and a nice hang space, so it would be a fun date night and an AWESOME spot for a work mixer.

This place is truly something special - congratulations to the creative minds that brought this to life and thank you again for graciously hosting our rowdy boys! We will be back, though next time with a smaller and less scream-y crew ;)

My son had his 17th birthday party here and the kids loved the rooms. We played a few of the rooms and found them challenging and engaging. I really respect the team that put this place together. The cat6 cable trays down the hallway gives techies a feeling for the data transfer and control going on here. This place is a labor of love for them. I understand there is an electrical, programming and mechanical specialist and they work together to bring this experience to us! The kids were all hyped up and many said they wanted to come back to win all of the rooms. Really impressive small business in Albany. If you had an aspiring engineer- this would be an excellent hands on place to volunteer and learn.

Here is the sign you need! Not only did we have an amazing time but we were impressed with the number of game rooms available. You can tell there is passion and time that go into each room! And there is much more to come! Each room has a unique game/ puzzle there were 6 available when we went. We also enjoyed a pitcher of beer and freshly popped popcorn! We weren't sure what to expect but we are extremely happy to have taken the chance. We were a group of 4 and the games are altered based on the number of players. Each room has a completely different game and is challenging in unique ways. The pictures do not do this experience justice! Great staff, tasty local beers, and tons of fun, well thought out game rooms. We originally thought to do an escape room but are so glad we chose this experience instead.

So so so much fun!! Great time as a double date night. Such an amazing idea and the thought behind the whole experience is evident. Can't wait for more rooms!

This is such a cool idea!! Basically you pay for two hours and then you have several rooms that you get to "solve"
We were a group of 3 adults and we had SUCH A GREAT TIME! The puzzles were challenging and took a lot of teamwork to figure out. They are so well thought out and the two hosts at the front desk were so friendly and awesome!

The staff here are amazing! So helpful and kind. The games are very unique and challenging. It is a great place for teens or adults and it is a perfect place for team building or hanging with a group of friends!

I had long been looking forward to my first visit to Game On and it did not disappoint! My son got a gift card for his 11th birthday, so I brought him and 3 of his school friends, all rising 6th graders. They were absolutely gaga for the place!

Although the number of games currently open is small, there is a lot of replay-ability because our party of 5, after playing all the games for 1+ hours, split into a group of 2 and a group of 3, and they offer different challenges for those sizes, so you can have more fun in the same rooms: very clever!

Some minor technical glitches occurred during play, but the team was ready to spring into action and help out and they always gave assistance when needed with a friendly, hands-on attitude. Much appreciated!

It's clear that the team behind the experience is wholly dedicated to making sure everyone has a great experience. One of the boys in my group fell down one instant after I had reminded the kids NOT to run, and he sort of carried on and made a fuss - this kid has a flair for the dramatic - and the on-site team did a great job checking and making sure everyone was OK and then also giving him space and time to regulate. It's all part of a day's work. Our whole experience from the on-boarding, to the check-ins, to sharing some shop talk (I also design games), felt very personal and friendly, so combine that with amazing, sophisticated, original, hand-made challenging games and puzzles and you've got a real gem of a destination right in our backyard.

There was even 1 game that we could not solve, but as we left we got a sneaky hint that there may have been a way to do it that we didn't discover, so we're going to go back and play some more. New rooms are coming soon, and once they open we will be so glad to return to play on at Game On!
