Gang Nam Korean BBQ Restaurant

Friendly staff, good food but need an extra server for sat night crowd. Had to ask for rice 3 times 20 mins apart. Good marinates. Tofu hotpot soup was okay.

The restaurant is actually on the Hazelbridge side of this strip mall even though the address states it is on No 3 Road,. Do book reservations as they have limited seating. Generally for a meal for two it will run you about $60 dollars . bbq meat were all terrific, love all the side vegetable dishes. Staff were attentive and polite. I do recommend!

Came here twice so far, and both have been excellent. Food quality, service and pricing worth. Tonight sadly, there was some mixup on staff communication and some confusion about area code after our reservation. We were informed our booking was canceled because there was actually no space and they tried to contact us beforehand to a phone number with 605 area code.

Please kindly inform your staff the area code here is 604, not 605; and recheck the phone number when you are contacting clients. We had to change our plans last minute. We understand mistakes happen, so just to keep in mind for the future. Still highly recommended :)

First time in Korean barbecue, very nice, very tastyBeef Rib. The staff was very professional and helpful.

Food was delicious, beef was fresh and well marinated, I tried their Jajammyeong it was saucy and tasty, did bring home left over Japjae and it did not become dry even after two days.they generously refill side dishes twice and I like that they have lettuce so you can do Lettuce wrap. The downside though is they don't have enough parking, and confusing for first timers as the parking is at the back. They do have limited table so its always better to call before you go. Went there three times and it was always full.

Hidden gem! It looks small but the inside is quite roomy. Best KBBQ in Richmond. Prices are good and the cuts of meat are excellent as well. Went here on a weekday and it was pretty busy. Their seafood pancake is pretty good but their highlight is definitely the Korean BBQ.

When it comes to dining out during covid19 pandemic you always want to be careful where you eat. We came here cause we hadn't been here in awhile and it seemed like a nice time for just the two of us to dine. Just for two . Sometimes it's better because we don't have to worry about big groups. Especially during the pandemic it is nice that this place was able to keep separate seatings between groups and had sanitizer at the front. Staff was limited to one server and that was perfect for today's times . Everything was good. Well the bulgolgi beef was kinda soso but the rest was good. Especially the beef tongue and the pork dishes. We also prefer their grill styles too.
Happy that they were able to open during these tough times where so many couldn't. Thank you.

My favourite kbbq spot in Richmond! Lots of options and still good for a dinner for 2.

Gang Nam Korean is a fabulous place to have korean bbq! We love it here. They have good portions for groups, like ours (our family), and the meats and the cuts were large enough for all of us to be full by the end of our meal.

Much like every Korean restaurant, they have their signature side dishes. They do not do unlimited refills. They refill twice, and then if you want more of the side dishes, they do charge a fee for every refill after the 2nd refill. That's fair, or else they would go broke and people would definitely take advantage. We've never needed more than 2 refills of the side dishes, so I do not know how much the charge is for them.

Their ambiance is very good. When you walk in, it definitely feels like a korean restaurant. Lots of korean posters and advertisements all around the restaurant. Their staff is very friendly and attentative to our dining needs. When we went, there was only one lady who was serving the entire restaurant. Sometimes we needed to go and find her, because she would sometimes be in the kitchen helping out, but it wasn't because she was ignoring us. I didn't mind looking for her from time to time for small things like an extra pair of chopsticks, etc.

Service was very good considering they only had one lady serving and sitting people.

Price, like most Korean restaurants, is on the more expensive side. And considering this was Korean BBQ, it was a little pricy. Thankfully, we had a group of five of us, so it came to be a little cheaper as we split the bill together.

Love how they do their sweet potatoes here (side dish!). SOOO Good! Not every Korean Restaurant does it well, and Gang Nam does it well :) Great appy before the mains came out.

Location is decent. It's in the plaza right next to Parker Place. Lots of parking, but they do share their parking with all the other businesses in the plaza. So while there is a lot of parking, it could be filled up pretty quickly depending on the evening and time of day.

We'd recommend Gang Nam as a place for Korean BBQ! Come, check it out, try the food :)

Came here with my bf on an early Saturday evening. When we got there, we were the 2nd group of people which was great.

BBQ Hotpot Combo: This was a set menu which included your choice of hotpot, plates of meat and 2 bowls of rice. We got Combo C which was a plate of rib eye, pork belly, seasoned beef rib and pork bulgogi, and we chose the pork bone soup for our hotpot.

Meat: First came the pork belly and rib eye which the pork belly was just okay for me because I don't like eating the fat parts of meat and this was completely full of fat. The rib eye on the other hand was good. It was very lean and meaty, and they gave you such a good decent size too. Lastly came the seasoned beef rib and the pork bulgogi. These were both amazing! They were so tender and full of flavor. I didn't need to use any dipping sauce for any of it. (Pork Belly - 3/5, Rib Eye - 5/5, Beef Rib - 5/5, Pork Bulgogi - 5/5)

Pork Bone Soup: This was delicious! It was seasoned just right and there were quite a few ingredients for such a small pot. I also liked how it wasn't too salty compared to other korean restaurants. The pork bones were so tender and they fell of the bone. (5/5)

Side Dishes: They consisted of salad, braised potatoes, kimchi, seaweed salad and soybean sprouts. I liked how they had a variety of sides compared to other places where they just give you 3 dishes. (5/5)

Overall, staff were super friendly and attentive. They would refill our tea and made sure our grill was changed. Food was delicious. The only negative thing I would say would be that the dishes were pretty expensive and you would only get a small portion of meat per plate and the hotpot was super small too. Nonetheless, we wouldn't mind coming back to try other items on their menu.
