I wish I could have had a more positive experience to share about my recent visit to Garricks Head Pub, but unfortunately, it was anything but pleasant. My dining experience was severely disrupted by a critical hygiene issue, and the response from the staff, particularly Vennessa, only compounded my disappointment.

While trying to enjoy my meal, I was shocked to spot a mouse running around freely within the establishment. In an era when cleanliness should be paramount in any dining venue, witnessing such an incident was truly alarming. I proceeded to document the situation by taking pictures of the mouse as evidence of the hygiene issue.

What made the situation even more disconcerting was that Vennessa and her coworkers observed me taking the pictures but chose to question what the issue was, rather than addressing the problem immediately. This felt oddly dismissive, and their indifference towards a blatant health hazard struck me as a significant failure in ensuring customer satisfaction and safety.

When I expressed my concerns to Vennessa, who was in charge at the time, her response was nonchalant, stating that "mice are everywhere downtown." This casual attitude towards such a serious matter was unprofessional and entirely inappropriate. Furthermore, her reluctance to escalate the matter to management unless I took the effort to email was equally frustrating.

Urban environments can present pest control challenges, but such issues must be met with proactive measures and professionalism, not dismissal. It is the responsibility of any dining establishment, especially one like Garricks Head Pub, to ensure a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for its patrons. This incident, coupled with the staff's dismissive behavior, has significantly tarnished my perception of this pub.

While I hope my experience was an exception rather than the norm, I find it necessary to bring attention to this matter publicly. I trust that the management of Garricks Head Pub will take these concerns seriously and make necessary improvements to rectify the situation and prevent such occurrences in the future. Until then, I would recommend potential patrons consider these issues before deciding to dine at this establishment.

Great happy hour! Bigger drink selection than other places in the area and a discount off the appetizers, which were delicious. We had the poutine, yam fries and crab cakes. Server was friendly, good music and quiet area in the back where you can relax.

We stopped for a snack by the fire. My wife wanted a beer and I wanted to try a couple of scotch whiskeys to see if I could find my favorite. We ordered the chicken strips with some honey mustard dipping sauce. The waitress picked me some whiskeys and I started fumbling through my attempt to find my favorite... that effort will take some time. The food came and my wife had a bite and stopped and said woah! These aren't normal chicken strips! These are really good! They are tender, and the flavor is awesome. The fries are good too!, she said. We came for the drinks and the atmosphere of the fireplace, and were tazed with an awesome snack. We will be back!

Great beer selection, very strong pass on the service. Staff will happily mock other patrons/accents but feel confused when they don't get a tip. In particular the girl the black and white sweater seemed to have a real chip on her shoulder.

Excellent food, wonderful wait staff, traditional pub style atmosphere... Had a superb time here!

We were in Victoria and decided to try this pub, the restaurant was very good we liked everything that we ordered.

Despite this, our server, Jenn, was not friendly whatsoever. I work in the customer service industry so I can appreciate good service when given, and she did not provide it. She was not enthusiastic nor friendly when taking our order and had a aggressive manor as if she did not want to be working there. The only time she was fairly pleasant was when she handed us the check to pay. If you are going to work in the restaurant service industry the point is to enhance customer service, if not work at a fast food restaurant like McDonald's. We were impressed with the food and pub, but Jenn's service was careless and the worst I've ever seen.

Great selection of beers. Casual atmosphere. Friendly people. Enjoyed the vibe. Check it out.

Busy place good selection of beers, our server wasn't the greatest. (Pretty dry) they share kitchen with the Churchill Bar that is next door. The ambiance it's ok nice to sit by the windows and sip some good brews or wine.
