GD Towing

Gabriel was helpful in towing our car from the SFO long term parking lot at 10:30pm on Saturday night. He called while on the way and showed up on time. The clearance to the old parking structure was only 6'9" and the tow trucks, both flat bed and wheel lift would not fit. Gabriel used his compressor to try to inflate the tire but the puncture was on the side, so it wouldn't hold air. I had to drive the car with a flat down and out of the parking structure. Gabriel drove us 49 miles and allowed us to ride in the cab. I would use GD Towing again.

I ran out of gas and Gelmer Dubon was quick and very friendly. I recommend this place if you need any service.

Waited 90 minutes for a tow. I called ahead and spoke to the dispatcher and sent them photos of my truck , per their request, to make sure they had all my information. They showed up. Demanded an additional $300 over what the insurance company who hired them to tow the truck would also send. They had accepted the tow from my insurance so I should not of had to pay them. The driver said that he didn't get any of the information that I had provided to dispatch. told me to call insurance and as I was doing as he instructed he drove away abandoning me with no explanation.

I called dispatch and asked what was happening. They hung up on me. I called back and asked why we disconnected. He said he didn't want the job and hung up.

I really wish that I had been rude or hostile or unreasonable at any time so I would feel that I would deserve this type of treatment, but unfortunately I wasn't.


UPDATE: instead of apologizing for their poor service, they called several times and the then texted me the following day demanding that I removed this review. Seriously.

A guy at the business called me after I posted my review of my experience with this company. He wasn't happy with the Yelp review I posted. After listening to him tell me how unprofessional I am for posting a review and him saying "f-ing this, and f-ing that," I told him that I would remove the previously posted commentary and just include the facts. I considered changing my rating to two stars, but decided I'd keep it at one star after being cussed at on the phone.

The guys doing the towing were professional and nice. Service was quick and courteous (at the time of the tow). Pricing seemed very high to me.

SCAMMING PREDATORY TOW TRUCK COMPANY

This company uses police/ambulance scanners to find the closest call on highways. They somehow show up faster than you can even make contact with SFPD.

I had an encounter with this company last week and the tow truck driver showed up less than 2 minutes after my accident, due to their scanners. They basically harassed me to take my totaled car to one of "their" mechanics shops, where I was assured I wasn't going to pay for any tow fees. Come to find out I owe 1250$ just for the tow fee, not including the trap of placing my car in one of their mechanic shops in this case it was "Eur-Asia auto body". I was charged 4 days of storage at 300$/day.

Avoid this company at all cost. If you're in accident and you see a "GD tow truck" deny their service and call your insurance or call 911. Tow to your house not to any random mechanic.

REMEMBER YOU CAN CLAIM YOUR VEHICLE WITHIN 72 HOURS WITHOUT PAYING A DIME.

This company is the absolute worst and shady as hell! My car was recently totaled in hit and run at 2 am in San Francisco and after I called the police, GD Towing arrived out of thin air to offer a helping in or so I stupidly thought..... turns out these ambulance chasers listen to a police scanner and pull up to offer "assistance" before you have a chance to call anyone else with the sole intention to take you for all they can. The morning of my accident i received an email saying i needed to retrieve my car from Eurasia Moters to avoid getting screwed worse than. My car was towed less than two miles and stored almost 12 hours in which they ran a "diagnostic ​test" without my permission resulting in a 1500 bill. They scam you and laugh in your face because they think they're smart but my attorney is smarter.

I have Good sams towing company kinda like a AAA. they dispatch to have GD company come out and I was notified that the driver was close by after an hour later. After waiting another 20 minutes I see a tow truck driver go by. I flagged them down and part of this is the companies (good sans) fault.. they put my car into the system wrong. The tow truck driver never tried to contact me. I had no missed calls, but then told me that I needed to call back the company because he was no longer able to tow me. In total, I waited an hour for them to get here an extra 20 minutes while I waited even though it said he was right next to me. After contacting his boss, they couldn't do anything to accommodate me. They just blamed it on the company that outsources them. No customer service.

I have no idea how these guys are still in business. One of the worst experiences of the last year for me.
Long story short: My nephew was charged $3,650 for a 3.7 mi tow and less than 48 hours of storage.

None of these fees were explained or presented to him before the services were rendered.

My nephew was visiting in town and got rear-ended. He called GD towing after finding out they had good reviews online. He didn't check Yelp because he would have seen their abysmal reviews here.... but rather he looked on Google reviews where for some super suspicious reason they've got 4.7 Stars....
They came out and did helpfully tow him to a body shop.... they recommended ....called Eur-Asia Motors on Van Ness.
Less than 48 hours later we go to pick up his car as soon as they opened.
They were super polite and handed over an invoice for $3,650.
What?!
All we could ask was what did they do to the car? Nothing.
Well ....you see ....it's $300 a day for storage(!) and they count it per calendar day.... so even though it was less than 48 hours they called that 3 days. Then they added a bunch of b******* fees which took that up to $1,550 for storage.

oh and the towing was an amazing $2100. I'd like to repeat here once again ......that's for 3.7 Miles.

They then held my nephew's car hostage until he came back with a cashier's check for $3,650.

We refused to pay and left and fortunately found out his insurance company will cover it all. I really hope they did not pay those fees.

A big thanks to yelp.com for being a true store of accurate online information on companies! I'm still amazed at what a difference there is between Google reviews and Yelp reviews.

Great service and super fast response! The driver was extremely nice and took great care of my car. I'd give 6 stars but I'm only allowed 5!

I called them to get a quote and they quoted me $140 to tow my car less than 1 mile. I had called around to several other towing companies that quoted me $150, so I decided to take the $140 as the best price. When we reached the destination, the driver held my car hostage and told me the fee was $240. When I refused, they tried to negotiate it - first it was then $225, then $175, then finally, "alright if you give us cash $150, you can have your car back". I called for a price quote specifically to avoid this type of racket.
Liars and crooks, avoid this company at all costs.
