      Gary is fantastic. Reasonably priced, highly responsive, and knows his stuff. He was great to work with when our Frigidaire wouldn't cool lower than 54 degrees.
      His 5 star reviews are well deserved!

      At one point, this owner was extremely good at his business. These days I am not so sure how to characterize the problem.

      The two times he has made in-home visits, he has down played the problem with my refrigerator and while pleasant, did not want to do a deeper dive into assessing what the problem was. Rather, he brushed the problem off by recommending I defrost the refrigerator. And while I expressed reservation, he did not offer to investigate further.

      BTW, I was not a one-time customer. I have used this business for several years. In fact, I started using this company a few years into having purchased my refrigerator. So the owner had a history with me and my appliance.

      My better instinct told me to get a second opinion, and I did. And I was right, the next company found the source of the problem and confirmed a much needed repair.

      The Gary I once knew, would have done the more intensive diagnostics.
      One might reasonably argue that maybe he felt from his experience that all the refrigerator needed was a minor tweak (in fact the unit that produces ice needed replacement). But having a history with the appliance and knowing how old it was, the possibility of something more serious should have been considered.

      I also indicated I'd pay for his time. So money was not an issue for me.

      I eventually used the second company to repair the refrigerator and they were excellent (and noticed that they consistently receive 5 stars).

      So there are a few takeaways from this experience with the owner:

      #1.
      He truly believed it was a minor problem and offered a simple solution
      #2.
      He didn't have the time to inspect the issue........

      or the one which would make me pause to call him again:

      #3.
      He didn't take additional steps to get to the root of the problem or at the very least, rule it out.

      Two stars for the owner being very pleasant and responsive as other yelpers note. I agree with them.

      Gary's amazing. I've called twice for completely separate issues and he came out and resolved them both same day.

      He's fast and effective and absolutely saved me a ton of time and money.

      I will not hesitate to call him again and I can't recommend him enough for any one having fridge issues!

      Having a trust worthy car mechanic, gentle dentist, and a consistent hair cut is one of those things you never let go once you find it. Fridge/appliance on the fritz? Gary is your GUY!!!

      He was able to diagnose our fridge problem over the phone on a Friday. And despite a laundry list of appointments, make time for us first thing Sat morn (off hours...so don't call on Sat please :)

      Hopefully won't have to ring him back soon. But if I do, have all the confidence knowing the first problem of finding a repair guy's fixed. Thanks again Gary

      Gary was referred to me by another reputable repair technician who does not service Frigidaire, the brand of the refrigerator that we had problems with.

      It was certainly a vote of confidence by his peer and sure enough, as soon as I described to Gary over the phone the problems and whether it's worth fixing a 4.5 year old refrigerator in this situation, Gary immediately knew that it could be easily fixed and he ended up charging us the minimal charge.

      It's great to know expert and honest people like Gary who we can count on for future repairs. Highly recommend General Refrigeration!

      The water dispenser suddenly stopped working. Check Warranty: phooey! six months out of warranty. What to do? Call Gary. He talked me through and in a few minutes helped me solve my problem--two days ago I installed a new water filter, flushed the system per instructions, and water/ice seemed to be working hunky dory. 36 hours later the water dispenser started making a loud noise and water flow dropped to a dribble. Next morning I tried reinstalling the filter, figuring that was likely my trouble source. Didn't help, in fact, was worse no noise and no dribble water. Arrgh. Call Gary. He talked me through in 5 minutes. Turns out that filter needs to be pushed in REALLY hard--had to close its little door with the heel of my hand--really shoved it. Magic. No more noise, water flows again. Thanks so much Gary. As many say no nonsense just excellent speedy service.

      There aren't enough positive words to express my gratitude toward Gary and General Refrigeration. My son called to tell my that our refrigerator had quit cooling and that there was water under it. I called another service first to tell them that my Kenmore Elite refrigerator had quit working. They were kind enough to refer me to Gary, saying that he was an "expert" with these. The folks that I called did have a strong 5-Star rating as well, so I felt the recommendation was solid.

      After calling Gary to explain the problem, he told me that he would be there within the hour. Wait, what??? Really! While I see reviews where other company's did not even return their calls, Gary was there as promised. Friendly, professional and stocked with parts. I really can't say enough for someone that so values their customers. I would without hesitation refer anyone to General Refrigeration Service.

      My 10 year old Jenn Air (Maytag) refrigerator stopped cooling. Another refrigeration tech referred me to General Refrigeration so I called Gary. The first time I called he spent a lot of time on the phone explaining how I might be able to fix the issue myself. It didn't work so I called him the next day. He came over within 2 hours to diagnose the problem. He could have charged me a bunch of money to try to fix it, but he recommended that I replace the unit instead. He only charged a very reasonable service charge. It's great to find an honest and capable tech. I have several rental units, so Gary's my go-to guy from here on.

      Gary is great. I called him because our ice maker in our fridge isn't working. He came same day, diagnosed the issue quickly, and told me a easy fix for $20. Great and honest guy.
