Gil's Safety Service

The owners are brothers who bought out long gone Gil. So there is no Gil.

Tried them after years of nasty and questionable work from a Ho Ho Sunoco guy.

These guys are not cheaper. But do good work.

All I want is a one time repair n I'm done. Not repeat visits to an incompetent mechanic.

So far on my brakes been great.

Only issue is expensive full synthetic oil but change every 3000 like cheap stuff. Makes no sense!

Happy to find this local service station, received a prompt and competitive quote for the work I needed and it was completed quickly by a friendly team.

I asked for a quote for my car and they wouldn't give me one. After I asked for a quote they didn't provide, they told me my car wasn't worth it. They said they don't replace engines even though it said online they do.

I almost don't want to review Gil's so I can keep them a secret but Gil's is by far the most reliable and genuine auto shop I've been to.

My family has been going to Gil's for years. They're super accommodating and James even offered to help me out over a holiday weekend when the shop was closed! I've been having issues with my tire and tried many spots in the area. I've even tried Tire and Wheel Performance on Route 17 and they couldn't find the issue. Gil's found the leak and plugged my tire in a few minutes. Gil's is no nonsense, straight to the point and very fairly priced.

I highly recommend Gil's for your auto needs.

Fourth time I've visited Gil's - they do excellent work, which is dealer quality without the dealer pricing. Jim is both honest and nice, and has helped keep my Toyota Avalon running smoothly. Highly recommend this repair shop!

Excellent service experience.

They responded promptly to my request for a repair estimate.
They sent the quote with complete details and each related price.

I requested that they inspect before doing the repair to see if it was necessary to do all the repairs in the quote, and they gave me honest details and their recommendation without trying to sell or offer unnecessary services.

In the end, I authorized the complete repairs, even though they told me that a part could be done later.

In summary, transparency, honesty, cheaper prices than the Service Dealers, and in much less time, in my case, the job was done in just one day. And the final cost was the same as the quote, without surprises or new charges.

Definitely my new service shop for my cars.

Gil's is great! Honest, professional and reasonably priced. Jim (owner) was super accommodating and took the time to explain the work he/his team performed. Will definitely be back.

I have lived in Ridgewood most of my life and used Gil's many years ago.But when my cars needed servicing during the years I would always bring them back to the dealerships and just accepted whatever they claimed was wrong and paid dearly for their repairs.Those days are over!
Recently my car had a coolant problem and I decided to go back to Gil's.
Not onyl did they give me an accurate estimate but fixed the problem within hours.When they called me to tell me my car was ready, they did not just shove a bill in my face and hustle me out. They showed me what parts had been replaced and why it had to be done! This experience was so new to me, I was almost speechless!!!
Hopefully, I will not need any major repairs any time soon. But no matter what happens, Gil's will be the shop I call!
