Ferry's are comfortable and they have a little bar on board for alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks as well as soda, few chip types and coffee. The coffee they have is called Verve Coffee and is so delicious. Will have to take the ferry again sometime soon

Convenient way to get around the bay without a car. You can get to angel island or Sausalito from San Francisco and these are great day trips. The ferries run efficiently but they can be confusing for lines and payments so make sure you get in the right line and have your ticket or clipper card ready.

Nice way to get to a Giants ball game. Vallejo to San Francisco and back. Beat the traffic, beat the tolls, beat the parking. Take in the views of the bay on this great way to voyage.

Today I caught the Golden Gate Ferry from the San Francisco Ferry building to Sausalito in the rain.

I truly had a beautiful experience.

Not only do they have a small cafe on board, serving coffee, tea, juices, pastries, wine and of course mimosas! but they also have outdoor warmers on the third deck for anyone that wants to enjoy the fresh air on a breezy or rainy day.

And if you find your iPhone in need of a quick charge they also have outlets in several convenient locations in the main seating area.

We rode the ferry yesterday to the Giants game with our children. We go to games often but are not season ticket holders. We usually drive so this time we decided to take the ferry. What a MISTAKE. We arrived late and missed the first pitch, missed getting the bobblehead and the WORST was the toilets in ALL the ladies room's were broken and not flushing. The boat stunk and people were still using the bathrooms. My daughter almost wet herself because she had to go so badly as did I. WE WILL NEVER TAKE THE FERRY TO A GAME AGAIN. Seriously rude employees that could have cared less. Terrible experience.

Great experience taking the ferry this weekend for $7.75 one way. Great views on the water with a bar and plenty of indoor, outdoor seating. There's also clean bathrooms and the trip doesn't take too long.

Was nice to be able to take the ferry from Vallejo into San Francisco. Was a pretty decent ride for time as well and not to expensive. The seat can fill up pretty quickly. So if able to buy tickets in advance I would definitely recommend that. Was a pretty peaceful ride there, on the way back wasn't to bad. Just had one of the crew members on her cell phone with personal calls so we could here her conversation. Could have done without that part of it. But other that that the night ride was different.

Golden Gate ferry is a great service to use if you don't have a car. The scenic is absolutely amazing especially during sunrise and sunset.

The Golden Gate ferry goes all over between the North Bay and SF.
There are special events- Giants Games
Get a clipper card to ride- yes you can charge a ticket- but clipper makes it easy and gives a huge discount on transit. You'll be able to use it on BART and the local bus and Caltrain too.
We love going from SF to Sausalito, but there are other destinations- even Angel Island. You can take a bike (space permitting) arrive early to line up with bikes- you'll board first.
We love the short ferry ride and standing outside.

When you go to Sausalito- you'll be going past Alcatraz island (decommissioned prison) .
Note: To visit Alcatraz- get a different commercial ferry- get a reservation.
