What types of payment does GreenCitizen accept? I called, and no one answered my call. I've looked on their website and couldn't find it. For example, Cash, Credit, Debit, and/or checks?

      A:

Everybody accepts cash and I would expect GreenCitizen will have to accept credit cards in order to be in business in the 21st century. But that's just an educated guess.

These guys are amazing - they serve the local community by recycling a lot of electronics for free. Also, they are open on most days vs my city's electronic recycling center that is open only 2 hours each week at the most inconvenient time.

When it comes to dealing with e-waste, this is the only company I rely on. Yes, there is a cost associated with disposing of electronic and computer waste, but I simply cannot put my trust in those who offer free recycling services. This company is legitimate and trustworthy. In the past, they had a physical location in downtown SF where I would bring all my hoarded AOL CDs for recycling. I even managed to transport a 30" CRT TV to their store, despite the challenges of finding parking in that area.

Since they moved to this location, it has become more convenient for me as it is right off the freeway. Even after a decade, I continue to use their services and highly recommend them to others. Let's not add to the problem by dumping our unwanted electronics on the streets, let's be responsible and environmentally conscious Green Citizens.

However, I must deduct one star from my review due to a recent experience. Given the large quantity I had, I wanted to make sure of their capabilities first, so I took a sample there and inquired if they could recycle it. Initially, they assured me that they would be able to recycle it. However, upon arrival, I was informed that they were considered oversized and would be charged an additional $120 per item. Obviously, I was not willing to spend a staggering $12,000 just to have them recycled. As a result, I had no choice but to take them to a local scrap yard.

      Great place for recycling!
They take a lot for free like televisions and monitors. I had to go to recycle some me old cables and an old phone it cost me $2 it's $1 per pound.
Super easy and convenient. They also destroy hard drives and have other services look online.

I had the duty to find a place to dispose of - bunch of old flat screen tv's and old monitors for our business. I had to find a cost effective recycling facility that didn't give limits on the amount we can bring. GreenCitizen was such a relief to find that they were on the peninsula. The staff were kind and efficient!

      Thank you!!!

It is VERY difficult to find a place locally that can do ewaste and styrofoam recycling. Ridwell has a limited amount of items you can recycle, but what if you don't need a subscription service?

I've used GreenCitizen a few times already to recycle styrofoam and it's been a really easy process. Each bag (I've used large trash bags and filled them with styrofoam) is $5 to recycle and priceless to keep this stuff out of the landfill. Styrofoam takes 500 years to decompose!

Their location is generally easy to find? They're almost on the corner of Cowan Road and Old Bayshore Hwy. Once you turn onto Cowan Road, there's a large chainlink fence and a driveway to GreenCitizen. It's likely kind of squishy if you're driving a large vehicle like an suv.

Representatives working there are always kind and helpful. GreenCitizen is a beautiful resource in the Bay Area!

Wow these guys were so nice when trying to get you to give them your electronics, but they don't care once everything was set up. Super rude with bait and switch tactics. Beware

A great resource for free e-waste recycling. Especially for San Mateo county residents that don't have free recycling service through Recology like SF. They make it quick and convenient with an online form to complete before you arrive to avoid the need to fill-out when on-site. Very friendly, efficient service where the person came out with a cart and helped us unload the big screen tv from our truck.

Brought by 3 desktops (plus monitors and accessories), an all-in-one, a laptop, and an iPad Air after calling them earlier in the day and then filling out their form. Angela greeted me and helped me unload all the items and got me on my way really quickly.

I like how they claim that they will inventory the items and repurpose as much of these electronics as they can.

Made another trip to GreenCitizen and had another very positive experience. A gentleman came out the minute I pulled in and unloaded my things for me. He was very helpful and kind. The drop off is very convenient and it is so nice to have a place to go and not have your electronics end up in the landfill.

This according to Apple. so they sold us the Mcbook for $350 plus we have to pay $249 for battery and $89.95 for charger. LAWSUIT is the only remedy for these greedy fraudulent company.
