Handy Fellas was hired on May 11, 2019 for a $23,800 project quoted for completion in 3-4 weeks.

After many delays Jacob agreed to finally "wrap" the project on September 23, 2019. He has been paid 90% of the project amount to date and left behind inferior workmanship, debris from demolition, and zero communication of how he plans to resolve this despite multiple attempts to contact him.

We were willing to come to a resolution with Jacob so long as he provided satisfactory work, but due to his unresponsiveness, we have since hired a replacement and are looking at another $9,100 to FIX + COMPLETE the work that he was initially hired for.

Our experience with Jacob & Handy Fellas was incredibly disappointing. In the end, the project is costing us far more money and time than expected because of our decision to hire this contractor.

We reached out to Jacob for help with a few projects in our new condo. The major project was mounting a television over the fire place and hiding all cables into the wall. Jacob was able to do the entire job in one day (running a conduit from the floor to behind tv, setting up new electrical outlet behind tv, mounting tv, etc.)

Working with Jacob was awesome. Prior to Jacob, we had others provide estimates on the job and they completely exaggerated what needed to be done. This was not the case with Jacob. He was straight forward, and looked for the best way to do a quality job efficiently. We are so glad we reached out to him.

We look forward to continuing to work with Jacob and Handy Fellas on future jobs.

Tried to get them to give me a quote for some repair work. Had an appointment for them to come to the house. No call no show. I texted about missing, they were apologetic and we rescheduled for the same time the next day. No called no showed a second time. Never replied to my inquiring text I sent 30 minutes after meeting time.

I hired Jacob to do some work for my clients. The job was small and supposed to take about a week. He came out to start the work and asked for 60% payment up front. Red flags went up after he got paid and left shortly after getting the money. Needless to say, he performed a small portion of the work and NEVER came back. He gave excuse after excuse about why he wasn't able to come back. Promising to come this day or that day and never following through. After so many excuses and no shows, I put him in touch with my clients directly so they could coordinate their schedules. My clients expressed that they were nervous about getting screwed. (Who wouldn't be after giving a stranger almost $2000 and they never came back to do the work?) Instead of easing their fears, Jacob took offense and texted that he wanted to conclude business. I was shocked at how unprofessional he was but agreed and asked him to give the portion of the money back for the work he didn't complete and that I would arrange for him to pick up his tools. He flat out refused. I asked him several times to come back to finish the work that he'd been paid for or return the money. I asked him to send a picture of the cabinet he claimed to have built. He never sent a picture. My clients paid him to do work that he NEVER did and in order to save face I ended up reimbursing them OUT OF MY POCKET. $1345!!! Unfortunately, after asking him if he was going to finish the job or give the money back he chose to "cut his losses" leaving his tools behind. This man is a fraud and refuses to this day to do the right thing by returning the money. He went as far as threatening me if I wrote a bad review. I can't say if this is a good review or a bad one, but I can say that this is the TRUTH. Avoid the headache and find someone who really "prides themselves in giving their customers exactly what they would expect for their family and business". Sadly, my experience was exactly the opposite. Run...as far away from this company as you can! You have been warned!!

Update: At 9:17 PM on 12/16/2019 Jacob called after reading this review and threatened me to take the post down or I would have a "mafia" load of problems. Then hung up on me. That's how he handles business.

Update: 12/16/2019 Jacob's response to my complaint speaks volumes about his work ethic. For anyone who'd like to do their due diligence, I've attached photos of some of our texts. My texts are in green. I've blacked out my clients name for their privacy. I have no reason to lie, furthermore I have proof that I AM TELLING THE TRUTH! I don't want anyone else to get scammed like me.

I'm incredibly happy with the work Jacob and his crew did to make my old garage look new again with brand new siding and fascia. What I especially appreciate is the attention to detail and creative problem solving that comes with just about any improvement project when you're dealing with an old structure. As issues were found, his team brought them up -- with quick solutions -- before addressing them so I had a chance to provide input and feedback.

I liked the work so much had them do another quick project before they left. I'll definitely be using them again when the need arises.

The handyman was excellent. I had stripped several screws entirely when trying to install a curtain rod. I had no idea what to do because there was no room for pliers in the rod fixture. The handyman from Handy Fellas was somehow able to fix my mess and quickly installed three curtain rods & curtains.

He was friendly, courteous, and efficient. He even spent extra time with me for free to advise me on options for a battery backup sump pump. I will definitely use Handy Fellas the next time I need home maintenance help.

Jacob is easy to work with and communicative (which I definitely can't say for most of the contractors / handy professionals I've hired). He did quality work finishing a wall in our basement and improvising (when angles didn't fit perfectly) to make it look nice.

My girlfriend and I recently bought a condo and needed some repairs done. Our back door frame had to be replaced due to water damage and the wall in our bedroom had a big crack in it that needed fixed. Jacob gave us an estimate right away just from a few photos I sent him of the work, and he stuck to it with the exception of a few minor costs that came up in the process. Jacob and Nick did a fantastic job with both, maintained transparency and professionalism through it all. They even gave us help and advice on some other aspects in our new home that need looking at, which we will definitely be in touch about in the future! They made sure we knew everything we needed and answered all our questions (there were a lot), and never made us feel overwhelmed.

A life-saver! Jacob and his team were able to fix some incredibly annoying pipes in my walls which have been making noise at all hours of the day. We didn't know what we'd find in the walls once they were opened, but the friendly guys at Handy Fellas were able to adapt to the situation and resolve the issue. Thanks to them I am no longer being disturbed by banging noises in my walls at all hours of the day. It's surreal to think this issue has been fixed after a year of dealing with it in two rooms. I'll be contacting Handy Fellas the next time I need work done.
