Got a perm with a haircut and had a great experience. Amy pays close attention to your hair and is very detail oriented. She also gives some consulting about which hairstyle would fit your face shape. Prices are good, especially for the Bay Area. Overall, I would come back for another perm.

I had a great experience at Happy Hair Salon. Amy was fantastic, friendly and really knew what she was doing. One thing to note is that we had a bit of a language barrier because she primarily speaks mandarin and sadly my mandarin is very lacking - but regardless of the circumstances, we were still able to have a back and forth by referencing different photos and all that matters was that she was able to properly assess what I was looking for against my hair type and my facial structure to go with a style that would work best.
I felt cared for through every step of the process; through the trimming, washing and curling processes Amy was very attentive and meticulous.
The photos I'm posting are from the day after I got the perm; needless to say I'm happy with the job well done.

Amy is a true professional who has a deep passion for her craft! She takes great care in every detail and make sure you are happy with the hair.

Amy also has a talent in haircut design; unlike most hairdressers who would do exactly as you say even if the haircut doesn't really fit your facial structure - Amy gave me some candid advice on what haircut would make me look good based on her decades of experience in this industry.

I am definitely coming back for another session :) Can't wait!

Took my son and his very thick and flat Asian hair for a cut and I got what i expected. My son didn't come out looking like BTS but at least he no longer looks like he has a mop on his head.

3.5 stars because of the price and cut. Could have been a solid 4 if Amy wasn't late for our appt by 25 minutes. When we arrived on time for our appt, Amy was still with another customer. There was a gentleman that worked there and he was very nice along with another female worker that offered everyone cookies. Amy was also nice but she didn't speak much English. We communicated with me showing her the picture I wanted for my son and a big nod of agreement between two Asian mothers, not sure if she is a mom but she did give off mom vibes especially when she kept asking my kid to stop moving.

Overall, the experience was good and would definitely go there again especially for the price. Next time, I will just make sure my phone is fully charged so I can watch a movie while waiting.

Yesterday was my 2nd visit to this salon, and I like it. All staffs there are very friendly and attentive. Not to mention, the hair stylist (Amy) cut my hair the way I wanted. Thank you, Amy.

I got Brazilian treatment in happy hair salon. I made an appointment online. The staff were very friendly, and I love my hair result! Amy was patient and make sure my hair was done right, she gave me good advice for hair cut. In general, the experience was pretty good!

I was waiting here for about an hour for my haircut sitting in a chair after my hair was washed, while my appointment was an hour ago. We were never given an estimated time for my haircut after waiting for an hour and walked out. Appointments and times are not stable.

Amy was so lovely to talk to and she suggested this hairstyle that compliments my face shaped. Her husband Zhong washed my hair with utmost care and gave me a head massage that was so relaxing :) I'll be back again for sure!!

Amy was great! Very reasonably priced and did an excellent job with my hair - I needed guidance since I didn't know what I wanted (I was struggling with postpartum hair changes) and she picked out the exact cut and color to make me feel beautiful and confident again.

I found Happy Hair Salon on Yelp last night. I saw an appointment available for today, so I made an appointment online. I came in today, they asked for me to get shampooed first, then I got a hair cut from Amy.

I showed her the look that I wanted which is layers in front with 4 inches off the back. She did an amazing job! She took her time on my hair and made sure every layer was cut evenly. After blowing and styling, she perfect it some more with some snips here and there.

I'm so happy with my hair cut from long to medium length. My hair looks so much fuller. $45 for a women's cut including shampoo ($10). It was absolutely worth it. I made sure to give her more than 20% tip and a nice review on Yelp! ;)
