Harry's Hofbrau visit was on a whim after shopping at Nike and was looking for a take away meal for the hubby. What a great find! Classic hofbrau menu too! I remember the chickenNcoops in the city growing up, eating w/ my parents in the late 80s and 90s and then having all of them closed down, except for TJs on Van Ness...we have missed these classic meals.
Harry's was just the beautiful discovery we were looking for. And this place is so big inside. You order cafeteria style while guiding trays for food placement and point at a special, add all the sides you want, some jello perhaps and bevy! Some of the sides were ok, just a bit on bland side for me, but that's what table salt is for. The meats were cut nicely and very plentiful, good portions! Dinner companions were very much happy w/ their orders. Staff at front were very helpful and friendly and the busers also attentive and hospitable. BroHam ordered a lagger and cider and those were quite tasty as well.
Would love to take the hubby here, he loves all these roasted meat classics. Next time I'd like to try their turkey enchiladas. I just had too much reg turkey already! Can't wait to come back! Thanks, Harry's!

I went to this place last week. It was pretty good. I will be return. It Reminds me of a Hofbrau I used to visit in Berkeley.
      Those were some good times.

      Amazing!
I've been coming to Harry's since I was a little kid and I'm happy to report it is exactly the same as it's been for years (in the best way possible)!
This cafeteria style eatery is no frills but if you come here you better come hungry! They give you all of your moneys worth with huge portions of their delicious had carved meats, piled high sandwiches, delectable sides or the sweet desserts. I ordered the turkey dinner that starts off with a mound of stuffing then they hand carve juicy turkey and pile it on. I opted for savory brown gravy on top as well as 2 sides! I opted for the mashed potatoes and gravy along with a Caesar salad and a wheat dinner roll. My dad had the corned beef dinner that starts with fresh, carved in front of you, corned beef, au jus if you like, and a pair of whatever sides you want with a choice of roll. We enjoyed our meal with a soda each and in total the bill was $48. Definitely worth every penny and you won't leave hungry! Harry's also offers a full bar with many local and rotating craft beers. The daily specials are worth numerous trips alone. We got here right at opening time and the line was already long! Once you eat at Harry's you're going to want to come back!

This is a San Leandro & east bay gem. It's hard to find a place such as this in the Bay Area and with it good quality food. It was my first time coming here and the ambiance was warm and welcoming not to mention how it felt like I was in a tavern at Disneyland. They have trinkets and lots of wall decor. Meat cute were fresh as well as the portions of sides. You can't get a deal and change of scenery like this anymore!!! Highly recommend to bring the family here

Well, I've been hearing about this place for awhile. Looking at the Yelp pictures, gives the nostalgia from childhood of eating at a place just like this in downtown SF decades ago.

As you drive up you're immediately welcomed to unique dining experience. As you enter you the ambiance makes you feel like your going to stand in line to ride the Matterhorn ride at Disneyland. The German decor is very inviting. Then you gaze at the long line of meats and side dishes ready to be devoured by your hungry appetite! You can't stop the mouthwatering trail of saliva down your shirt...And you have to make a split second decision on what to order...hopefully not influenced to heavily by all the people in front of you!! LoL

Whatever you choose, it's all pretty satisfying on you palate. We roast beef and corned beef. We came on the wrong day and missed prime rib. But is swear the roast beef was a pretty good facsimile of it.

I'd say overall the food is a lil under seasoned. I thought it'd be more salty. Perhaps this is a good thing. But the portions are pretty darn good for the price. You can't beat it...especially since In-and-Out is like more than $10 for a meal combo nowadays! And if you're craving for a turkey dinner with stuffing and cranberry sauce and it's NOT Thanksgiving, you can come here anytime to find it!!! That's AWESOME!!

      Yummy!

I do love this place even though i only gave it 3 stars. I think I haven't found the right meal yet that will bump up the stars at least to a 4.

I go here anytime my family has a party or gathering. It is a great place to have a large gathering of 15 to 20 people. They don't rush us, and we spend at least 5 hours every time

This time, I got a Turkey sandwich that was kind of dry, and I put lots of cranberry sauce and it was still dry. I still liked it. I just didn't love it. I wanted to love it. I had mashed potatoes that was good as well

I had two desserts. The red velvet cake and the strawberry shortcake

The strawberry shortcake was very good. I would order again if they have it when i go.

I hope to try something new next time that will warrant I better star review because i really do like this place. I just want to really love the food too.

Service and people work are fine but food especially corned beef sucks. I would not feed it to my dog. Also cherry pie is overpriced a
      Also sucks.

I had a craving for turkey wings so I headed out to Harry's Hofbrau. Only to get there and receive devastating news.

There's a shortage of turkey wings and legs. They aren't certain when they'll be able to get any. These are my go to meals. I was clutching my invisible pearls. Le sigh... On to plan B. I still love you Harry's. I hope you score some wings and legs soon.
