It's been 7 years since we had our beautiful Hawkins pool designed and built and we couldn't be happier.

Let me start from the beginning. I called several pool companies and I will tell you some don't even return your call. We bought our dream home and the pool needed to be renovated and I did a lot of social research. All fingers pointed to Hawkins. We met with the owner John Rose and he basically told me I could not have what I wanted. He said he couldn't guarantee the work. I changed the narrative. I let him guide me and -asked what would be safe to renovate. The bid was to the penny and if we came across unexpected surprises which we did they were done at cost. We especially enjoyed working with Jeff Jones on the design. He really understood what we wanted. Our yard looks like a hotel resort and just takes my breath away. We are looking forward to making lots of fun family memories there.

Our Experience

We recently had Hawkins Pools remodel our pool, build an outdoor pavilion, and completely relandscape our yard. We were very impressed with the entire process from start to finish.

The Planning Process

We met with the designer, Jeff, to discuss our needs and goals. He was very easy to work with and took the time to understand our vision for our outdoor space. He then created a detailed plan of action and provided us with a realistic estimate of the cost.

The Construction Process

We worked with superintendent Mike who did an excellent job of managing all the different crews required to complete our yard work. The crew was very professional and clean, and they took great care of our property. We were particularly impressed with the quality of the materials and workmanship. The quality of construction is exceptional. We made some adjustments as we went along and also stretched the team some on audio and visual work in the pavilion and they came through in spades. The owner John was an excellent partner was was engaged throughout the project which gave us great confidence as the project progressed.

The Finished Product

We absolutely love our new outdoor space! The pool is sparkling clean and beautiful, the pavilion is sturdy and well-built, with an amazing kitchen and outdoor dining and entertaining space and the landscaping is lush and inviting. We spend hours every week enjoying our new backyard, and we know it will be enjoyed by our family and friends for years to come.
We highly recommend Hawkins Pools to anyone looking for a pool remodeling, outdoor pavilion construction, or landscape design company. They are professional, reliable, and do excellent work.

Putting in a pool was the best decision we ever made. We looked at a number of contractors, but as soon as we met with John, we knew we were going to Hawkins. John, Jeff, Steven, Mike, and the whole team were so great to work with. We tore out our whole backyard, created a design on paper and saw it come to life. The team at Hawkins were always available to answer our questions, kept us in the loop with all changes, and were just pleasure to work with. I can't say enough about John and his team. Did I mention, putting in a pool was the best decision ever?!!

Hawkins was one of 5-6 pool, landscape, and pavilion construction contractors that we met with before choosing Hawkins. They impressed us with their willingness to sit down with us and discuss our dream design that ultimately worked within our budget. Hawkins helped with a full redesign and managed and led the entire process (Pool + hardscape + pavilion). The construction process was not without some delays and minor hiccups. Whenever we raised our hand for help or with concerns, Steven, Gary, or John were attentive and addressed those issues in a time that was under their control. The final product was fantastic and we are in love with our new backyard.

This is the second time we have worked with Hawkins pool, and they did not disapointed. From the initial meeting with John, and subsequent interactions with Jeff and Mike it has been a pleasure to work with these guys. Any issues/questions we had, were answered in a professional timely way. As a result we now have an fantastic pool which we will enjoy for years to come.

We used the Hawkins Pool Service when it was in business and had nothing but probems. They were unreliable, did not show up for weeks at a time, and when we tried to contact them, did not answer the phone. I imagine that their pool construction business is more reliable...I don't know. However, I would never recommend this company and would not want to do business with them in the future.

If you are looking for someone reputable to design you an amazing pool and build it super well with no contractor BS, then this is the company for you. I researched a bunch of pool builders and learned a lot about the process and the players. It came down to Hawkins and another company. Both would have built a great product but the design of Hawkins was way better and the price was about $30,000 less.

Their designer is amazing and really understood the more modern/contemporary feel we were looking for from the project. All the subcontractors were super dialed. Always neat and tidy and clearly knew what they were doing. The rep from Hawkins who is on site and oversees everything is a little old school in that he doesn't do texts or emails but he was responsive on the phone.

One benefit that gets overlooked too much is the fact that Hawkins owns their own landscape company that's separate from the pool company (so it's not pool guys doing your landscaping). As I write this review, most landscape guys are about 6 months out from beginning any new project which means your pool could be done and it's surrounded by dirt. With Hawkins, they put you to the front of the line and make sure your whole project gets done in a timely manner. Pool and landscape one stop shop.

I stand behind these guys because they stand behind their work. The owner, John, is on site multiple times during a project and always does a final walk through to make sure you're satisfied. Its just a good product from good people. You won't be disappointed.

We hired Hawkins Pools to design and build a backyard rejuvenation that included and new pool, spa, pavilion, and all new landscaping. What enticed us, other than friends' recommendations, was the all-in-one approach to our project. Hawkins designs the project with you, obtains the permits, does all the excavation, builds the pool/spa, builds the pavilion, does all the landscaping, and puts down the pavers. Despite the large scope of this project, it was a delightful and painless process due to the professionalism and expertise of everyone involved.

Through each phase, we had a contact person that was responsive, helpful, and wonderful to work with. Jeff Jones helped us redesign our whole backyard. He pushed back on some of our bad ideas with explanations and reasons stemming from his vast experience and artist background. Mike Baker was our contractor and was a delight to work with. He is old school, no nonsense, with a wealth of experience and knowledge. Anything we asked him to do was met with, "We can do that," followed by explanations on what we might like and not like about the changes/additions. We greatly appreciated his frankness and his "can-do" attitude, as well as his ability to run a tight ship with so many moving parts. Marco Bazan, with Dana Lund Landscaping was also a wonderful point person for our landscaping and paver installation. Once again there was nothing we asked for that he didn't make happen. Going above and beyond was Joel Orduñez, who came in on a Saturday to oversee the plantings of several fruit trees as we were away and were concerned for our new irrigation system. Gary is kind, hard working, and invested in the best outcome of the project and your happiness.

This was a wonderful experience, from start to very delayed finish, due to the craftsmanship, pride, and communication of everyone on the Hawkins team. We would hire them again and feel confident that should we need anything in the future, they would respond and address our needs immediately. Thank you, Hawkins, we love our new backyard!!

Jeff design magic was very evident at the beginning and then came into reality at the end.

John has always been very responsive and involved in the whole project.

I really like the whole crew, Mike, Gary, Steven are also great at what they do. They are very capable in their own area.

Dana crew was also great : shoutouts to Angel, Frans and Marco.

Overall it was a great experience. It was long due to global issues but they finished in late July (a month earlier than the original ETA).

I would hire them again in a heart-beat.
