      Love the service department and I think a great place to buy a new Honda but if your buying a used car or selling a used car I would go to Carmax or Carvana.

      I love the service department here. They are the best. Very personable and fast. Also notable is how the service advisors have all been around forever - I remember them all from the previous location when they moved. Much prefer this to Cardinal Oakland. I think this is a small family owned business - and if its not is sure does feel like it.

      If your buying a new car I see no reason not to buy here. It is a very straightforward thing and since all the new cars are similar its easy to cross shop and with the days of the internet lots of the prices regardless of dealership will be similar. The salesmen are very friendly and go out of their way to even help you customize a car or find you one if it is elsewhere. Sure there might be a one off where you find a poorly equipped car in a bad color at the end of the year leftover for a really really good deal - but that is in reality just the market correcting for certain factors and not really as good a deal as it might first appear.

      For used car purchases I like Carmax - inventory and ability to find what you want based on features is unmatched. Every option is listed and then with a nationwide search you will have your best chance at finding what you want.

      For car sales I prefer Carvana. I recently sold my car and got 4 offers from four different dealers. My offer at this Honda dealer came in at the lowest offer $4000 less than Carvana and $2500 less than Carmax. Online my emailed estimate from Honda Hayward actually was the highest initially: "Your Kelley Blue Book® Trade-In Range $9,145 - $11,228" I got a price from Carvana right inside this range and it couldn't have been less of a hassle. All done online.

      I think the guy buying cars here might have been too busy that day. It was probably a done with the age make and model only and he was oblivious to the options on my car and the immaculate service history and low mileage. Since all communication was done through a sales guy I think somethings were lost in communication. Carmax does it the same way where you don't have any contact with the appraiser - I find it inefficient and almost frustrating. Again, Carvana for the win when it comes to sell.

      Buying and selling cars probably ranks with most people similarly to going to the dentist. If you really don't like the traditional sales environment my overall recommendation if you buy or sell a car here is do everything over the phone and online and not in person. Once you arrive here only do so when you have an out the door price and financing and warranty and dealer add ons in place and fully negotiated. Test drive at Carmax a similar newer car or rent one for a day or two if you need a test drive.

      This review is a week late.

      I went to Hayward Honda to purchase my lease out. I was supposed to meet with Jennifer on 8/17/24. My whole family and I arrived after lunch. We spoke to someone at the main entrance for my appointment, and we were asked to have a seat. Jennifer approached us and explained she had a customer still and that another salesman would assist us. I overheard Jennifer asking how long this guy would take to see us. Jennifer went back to us and said that Bong would be with us within 15 minutes. It was more like 30 mins hahahaha. It was fine, though.

      So this guy approached us with his suit and stylish hair. He greeted us and said his name. At first, I thought he was Indian of some kind, and the unexpected happened. He spoke straight up Tagalog to my whole family and I. We were all shocked and smiled. Let me tell you guys, this man is funny and an honest man. He looks like a model from GQ! There was no real hassle or distractions from just wanting to purchase my leased vehicle.

      Again, this man was so kind and patient with us. He offered us snacks and water. Wasn't pressured at all! Everyone look for this handsome man "Bong" at Hayward Honda and purchase your car from him! You will not regret it!

      I hate to leave negative reviews, but this place deserves it.

      I have owned and driven Hondas for over 25 years. I have visited many Bay Area dealerships from Pittsburg to San Jose to San Rafael. I know what to expect.

      I had a check engine light on my instrument panel. I scheduled an appointment with Hayward Honda's service department because I know that they are busy, and you can't just walk in and get immediate service. I scheduled this appointment more than a week in advance. They knew when I was coming and exactly what I needed to have checked.

      I arrived at the appointed time. A young man in the receiving bay told me to stay with the car, and someone would be with me shortly. There were no other customers around, and 3 service advisors sitting at the counter behind computer screens. I waited for more than 5 minutes for one of them to get up and come over.

      He asked if I had an appointment. Yes
      He asked why I brought the vehicle in. I don't mind discussing this, but I thought he was expecting me.
      Then he asked if I could leave the vehicle overnight. No, I can't. I inquired about how long does it takes to check the OBD codes. A few minutes? Maybe an hour?

      He said, yes, it doesn't take long once the technician gets to the vehicle. But their technicians are busy, and they can't do a diagnosis until 24-48 hours after the vehicle is checked in.

      So what's the point of scheduling an appointed time to have my car worked on? They didn't warn me about this when I called in to make the appointment. I drove half an hour to get here, wasted my time and gas, and they don't respect the Honda owners enough to keep an appointed time for a service?

      My first time at this location to get some maintenance work done. It was easy to make an appt on the app. I showed up 15 mins late to my scheduled time so of course had to wait until next advisor was available. Ana Martinez is wonderful - she firstly apologized for the time wait and was very personable. She was able to answer all my questions and made her first impression great. My car was done within 3 hours. Also, they compliment your Lyft ride to and from!

      Excellent service, sales, and repair auto services! Everyone was super kind, informative, and just simply an above average dealership team. The level of patience was amazing while finally making my deal. They are attentive to your needs as well. Especially the best sales guy, Bong! He will go the distance for you! I'm shouting out a referral for him. If you're contemplating where to go...go see Bong at Hayward Honda! Tell him Shamika sent you! A big shout-out to Allen in auto service dept.       I brought my car in for a maintenance check on my Honda CRV. Savannah was quick to assist and helped me get my car into service. Hayward Honda quickly finished my car's oil change and routine checkup within 1.5 hours. This was quicker than the 4 hours wait I had when I brought my car into Honda San Leandro for a simple oil change... So that is a major plus!

      When I picked up my car, Savannah was helpful enough to quickly walk me through the inspection with detail. Break pad rating, tire thread rating, fluid levels, etc. It was helpful for me to understand how to better care for my car. With my experience dealing with Honda, Savannah went out of her way to explain each inspection point with me.

      What a great experience!! The whole team was awesome!!

      We arrived and were greeted by two gentlemen at the door and were promptly helped. We told them we were there to see Bong, Internet Sales Manager. Bong came right out and offered us beverages and took us out to test drive the car my daughter was interested in. The used CPO car drove like new! During the test drive the AC wasn't cooling enough so Bong took it right into service to get it looked at with no hesitation. Amazing feeling when as a potential customer your feedback is valued! During the good ole "dealing" process we had a tough time with our bank at no fault of the dealership. Kipp, Sales Manager, stepped right in and helped us secure an even better term that our credit union was providing. The whole time we were there they were on our side and came through for us. Once we agreed on the great deal that was presented it was time to roll into the finance office where we were greeted by Aziz, Finance Manager. That part of the buying experience can be dreadful, as after you've gone through the deal and you think you know what you're looking at, they try to push the "extras", not here. Aziz went through the extended warranty in great detail, and we respectfully declined, and that was that. He didn't continue to push it like others usually do, which to me is a huge plus! After that we shook hands, congratulated my daughter and everyone was happy. Thank you all at Hayward Honda, especially Bong, Kipp, and Aziz for making it possible!!

      I had set my mind on a 2024 CRV Honda Hybrid and contacted multiple Honda's in the Bay Area. I did end up purchasing from Hayward Honda because of Ferdinand 'Bong'.

      Initially, a rep from Hayward Honda had contacted me and I went down twice. I don't know what he thought, but he wasn't taking me seriously and wasn't willing to negotiate the price and I felt he was trying to upsell me. I don't know if it was the fact I was a woman car shopping or what, but I did not enjoy that experience. (If you want his name, message me)

      Ferdinand 'Bong' reached out to my father and sold us on a great deal solely over the phone. We went on the same day and honestly, 15/10 experience working with him. He listens and tries to get you the best deal, which he did for us. He's also welcoming and doesn't talk down to you, which I appreciate. He understood we were here to take a car home and worked his magic. Highly recommend going to him for your car purchase.

      4 stars because of my initial experience, I think everyone should be taken seriously when purchasing a car and should not be ripped off.
