      The pastries are very good especially the honeycomb croissant which is so crunchy and buttery. Not a big fan of the croffle where it is too hard with the chocolate coating. The mango waffle was SO good as they gave tons of mongo and they are so sweet. The garlic toast was a disappointment as it's soggy and not garlicky enough.

      But I love the bright and modern design of the place. They chairs are so comfy and it's spacious. The servers were very nice to remind us of the 10% discount before 11am and a free pastry to go. I just hope they have all pastries available at the same time so we didn't miss trying the Cubes.

      Let's talk croissants -- Hazukido was a croissant conundrum

      I had been eagerly anticipating my visit to Hazukido in Richmond ever since the initial buzz surrounding their opening. The prospect of indulging in buttery, flaky croissants had me dreaming of pastry perfection. Unfortunately, my experience fell short of these high expectations.

      Upon entering Hazukido, I was greeted by the pleasant aroma of freshly baked goods and a sleek, modern interior. The display case was filled with an array of croissants and other baked goods, each one looking more enticing than the last.

      While the croissants were undeniably flaky, their petite size and sparse fillings were a major disappointment. I found myself longing for more substance and a richer bite.

      At an average of $5-6 per pastry item, Hazukido's offerings are on the pricier side. When you consider nearby bakeries that serve larger, crispier, and more satisfying croissants at similar prices, Hazukido's value proposition becomes questionable. The cost simply doesn't align with the portion size and overall experience.

      In summary, Hazukido seems to be more hype than substance. The croissants, while visually appealing, don't quite hit the mark in terms of flavour and value. For those seeking a more fulfilling pastry experience, there are better options in the vicinity.

      That being said, if you're still curious about Hazukido and want to sample a broader range of their offerings, the afternoon tea set might be worth a try. Priced at $45, it includes a selection of popular sweet pastries and savoury croissant sandwiches, alongside chicken karaage, fries, and a choice of beverage. This set offers a more comprehensive taste of what Hazukido has to offer and might provide a more satisfying experience overall.

      Hazukido's croissants may not have lived up to my expectations, but they do offer a unique afternoon tea experience that could be worth exploring. For now, though, I'll be sticking to my tried-and-true favourites at other local bakeries.

      Hazukido offers various types of croissants, and I used to visit the Yaletown location, which is now closed. A new shop has opened in Aberdeen Centre, where there is a nice and cozy eat-in space as well as a take-out shop.
      A notable point is that they offer so many kinds of flavors! I am so happy to look at the showcase, but it's hard to choose.

      I got a Matcha croffle, a Matcha chocolate croissant, a Strawberry croissant cube, a Hazelnut chocolate croissant, a Garlic croissant, and a Caramel almond croissant.

      The Strawberry croissant cube has a strawberry cream filling and looks very cute. The Hazelnut chocolate croissant has a hazelnut crunch and is fully covered in chocolate. The Matcha croffle , Garlic croissant and Matcha chocolate croissant were just okay.
      My favorite was the Caramel almond croissant! There are cereal and almonds on top of the filling cream, and it was very delicious.

      I really like their unique flavors and ideas. They are very Instagrammable and fancy. However, the dough texture requires more refinement. Overall, I will visit again to try other flavors.

      I'm so happy we have hazy kids here now. The baked croissants are delicious even though pricey. It's worth it because do you know how hard and long it takes to make a croissant??! They have so much selection hard to choose. Also their dine in menu is such good quality chicken waffles, their fries so fresh and their espresso drinks delicious! Can't say enough good things except for when they sell out of croissants. I will have to try their afternoon tea too.

      Another restaurant that opens in this location-- I genuinely wish it the best and hope it can stay open for a longer period of time because I like this place the most out of all the restaurants that have been opened at this exact location.

      The vibe of the restaurant stayed pretty similar to all the previous restaurants-- nice open space, well lit, felt clean.

      Service
      * took a little long but everyone was quite nice.

      Food
      * Smoked Salmon Croissant
      I wish I tried their sweet croissants, but I ended up getting a savoury one. Their smoked salmon croissant was pretty on point. It was the right flakiness and it didn't feel overly buttery. They skimped out in the sampler salmon though. If you're hungry, I'd recommend getting something else because it's smaller than regular croissants (which I already knew bc of their name). I got their brunch set, which included either fries or salad and a Greek Yogurt with Strawberry compote. The fries was below mid... stale and skinny. The yogurt was too tart for my liking and the strawberry compote did not help. Not a fan.

      * Croffles and Chicken
      Again, this came in a lunch set. For $26, there was a good number pieces of chicken. The skin was overly fried and a little too oily, but the interior was super tender. It was not too salty, but had good flavour.

      * Strawberry Fizz Drink
      I forgot the exact name of the drink, but it was just a carbonated starberry soda. Refreshing but nothing special.

      * Uni Pasta
      This brunch set came with some sides and a mushroom drink. I'm usually a huge fan of uni AND pasta, but something was off about this dish. It was still yummy, but not quite what I was expecting. Although I'd add that I like how it didn't feel too heavy. The mushroom soup was the absolutely winner out of everything we ordered. It was so creamy and flavourful, but not too overpowering. It'd come back just to order the soup if I'm ever in Richmond !!

      Overall, not a first bad impression. I'd come back to try their sweet croissants as that's what they're known for. The presentations were nice to the eye and the flavours were intriguing.

      I was excited about this place but we were disappointed.

      Chicken "breast" & cheese croissant combo = $16
      The chicken breast croissant was tiny; literally it was a very tiny croissant and there wasn't any real chicken breast; rather a piece of processed chicken meat, similar to luncheon meat. I was disappointed and it was questionable but given how hard times are, I just had to let it go. To be fair, the fries and marinated half egg were good. The yogurt was unnecessary and not so great, so I didn't eat it.
      I would not order this again. I felt cheated because there wasn't a way for me to know the portion would be so tiny. Not recommended if you are hungry.

      Chicken curry = $27
      This was okay, nothing special and I don't think it was worth $27. It was a generous portion, with a serve of salad, rice, potato salad and some vegetable pickles. Curry was very salty.

      Latte = $6.50
      This was probably the best thing here.

      Matcha & red bean latte
      The croissant was good but not enough red bean paste.

      Good service. We mostly tipped for the service, not the food.

      Clean tables and environment. Friendly staff.

      The cafe is very beautiful, not very busy on a Sunday night.

      The combos were very filling, coming with tofu skin, potato salad, and a sesame salad. All the entrees were amazing, super flavorful, and the meat was all cooked to perfection. Prices were a little high for each set at around $30 a plate but you can get any drink for $1.5 off with the purchase of a combo!

      service was VERY quick and attentive, server was super sweet, smiley, and making jokes with us the whole time! Come early if you want croissants, as all but two flavors were sold out by 6 pm.

      Got here early in the morning for their Grand Opening Buy 3 get 3 free deal (today only) and was pleasantly impressed with the customer service at this location. The decor was minimalistic and kept the space airy and the staff were very welcoming.

      The lineup and crowd control was managed well, with 5 ppl being let in at a time and the display case was fully stocked at opening, with the croissant offerings going for $5-6 each on avg.

      My top 3 favorites are the Taro Pudding, Coffee Mascarpone and Butter Garlic.

      Some people were already being seated for lunch in the expansive seating area as the first people in line for croissants were leaving, so I'll definitely have to come back for that and the uni pasta on the menu!

      If you want a IG worth photo but don't care about the quality, this is the place to go.

      Food was edible, not great. High tea looked pretty, but seems stale or off the shelf. One of our order didn't come until the server came to ask for the last order call. And, no apologies or offer anything else.
