Massive thanks to Lindsay at Heartwood and Co for working magic on this tired mamas hair! I came in today unsure how things would go based on the state of my postpartum dry, lifeless hair. Lindsay really took the time to listen and access while finding the best possible solution. We did some subtle balayage highlights with a treatment and a trim. My hair hasn't felt this good in a while! She brought my tresses back to life. 10/10 would absolutely recommend!

I absolutely adore Heartwood, the service is always top of the line and it's such an aesthetic place. I get my hair cut there only there since every other place has botched my hair in the past they have not! But the prices are a bit on the pricey side I still support them 110%, being women led, all products are cruelty free and vegan is a must must MUST for me! Along with the staff they are so comforting and kindhearted, my faves are definitely Lea ann and Maggie super helpful girls. If your thinking of trying a new salon no matter your gender you need to come here.

I had wanted to get lash extensions for a while now and had seen a few of my friends rock them so I caved. I'm not from Victoria originally and started researching local places as I am very protective of my eyes and don't want someone harming them. heartwood and Co. actually properly trains people to do lash extensions and is very highly regarded in their tecnique, cleanliness and comfort.

I felt good going into Heartwood and Co. because of what I had read and I felt even better once I actually got there. The staff are lovely, knowledgeable and so welcoming. The studio is STUNNING! I wish I could live there. Once you arrive they have a large coffee and tea selection for you to choose from while you wait or while you are in your appointment, no limit either so try whatever you like.

The rooms are large, clean, well designed and comfortable. The bed you lay on is super comfy. The lash tech will sit with you and go over your lifestyle, activity level, style... to make sure the lashes you get will work best for you and last as long as possible. After that, you just lay down and enjoy what I consider the most relaxing experience iv ever had.

I enjoy chatting with people and the ladies there are super friendly and funny, I chatted with Abby for a while even though I could feel myself drifting off due to how delicate she was with my lashes. there was 100% no pain!!!! If I could have had her do that for hours I would have because it was so stress relieving!

I also got my bangs done (only $10 ladies and gents) and ended up staying an extra almost 20-30 min chatting with the stylist about our lives. such a great chat, day, experience... These girls will not just shove you out the door once you're done, and in fact, they even recommended some people for extractions/facials and even showed me pictures of how well it worked for them!

Overall the best salon/spa experience I have ever had! They are also local and not a chain which makes it so much better for me as I love supporting local business. If you need your hair, nails, makeup, lashes, whatever done I suggest you give them a try because you won't regret it!

Got my hair done by Lise, love it! She was funny and nice,super easy to talk with, and VERY PROFESSIONAL! it was my first time getting balayage and I'm in love! Thank you for your wonderful service Lise!

Maggie cut my hair and it was so refreshing to get such a wonderful hairdresser. She did a fantastic cut and had such a lovely inviting personality. I have already booked my next appointment with her. I never leave this salon disappointed and always recommend to friends and family.

I had my hair done by Bri and I absolutely love it!! She gets it! I have asked a few different stylists over the past few years for "lower maintenance" and Bri was able to do exactly that.

Prices are good. And the salon is friendly & clean :)

I live in Vancouver, but I will definitely be coming back to Victoria to get my hair done every 6 months or so!

Other than this place being super trendy to the eye, it's actually trash. I've had better hair cuts from chatters! Maggie did my highlights and cut and kimber did my boyfriends cut. On February 27th my visit to heartwood and co was my second and definitely my last. The first time I went in I got a gel nail fill. I got different shades of pink on each nail, when I told the nail artist I didn't like one of the shades she told me it's cute despite me being unhappy with it and rushed my appointment. She also didn't put enough layers on of the light pink so 4 nails looked like a dirty translucent white. My second appointment was when my boyfriend and I went to heartwood and co for hair appointments. I got a full head of highlights and a cut and he got a men's cut. Let's start with the unbelievably terrible men's cut by kimber. He has longer hair he keeps in a man bun and simply just wanted it thinned out and trimmed. He hated it after, but I told him it would just take adjusting to shorter hair considering it was half as long but he insisted it was uneven and looked like a bowl cut when down. The other day when I straightened it to once and for all put his mind at ease that his hair wasn't uneven and that short (hair is curly) I noticed the lady who cut his hair completely botched it. I could have done a better job myself! The one side was at least 3 or 4 inches longer than the other side. So in other words she was careless and didn't properly cut his hair, thinking he'd never notice since it's curly. Let's move onto my hair. I came in with a balayage wanting to blend my roots in more to make my overall look blonder and to almost entirely get rid of the dirty blonde. The lady who did my hair (maggie) was really nice and did a good job on my cut. The highlights themselves I tried to give a few washes prior to my visit become lighter in colour but they got darker!! I ultimately ended up with darker hair. Considering my boyfriend and I went in at the same time for our hair appointments, he left before me since I would be there much longer getting foils. When I went up to pay Michelle (the receptionist) didn't ask me if I was pleased with my turn out, didn't say hi... nothing. Super unfriendly!! I went to pay not knowing that my boyfriend paid and she, who by the way looks 14 years old and super snotty, and said "ugh your boyfriend paid" and looked away! Wasn't in a kind way at all, if anything a jealous, snotty way. I was honestly going to book a brow wax but after Michelle's unwelcoming response to me wanting to simply pay for my service I had NO IDEA was paid for already I just said "oh, ok" and stood there super awkwardly. She looked away and acted as if i weren't even there. Upon feeling unwelcome and saying "thanks for everything", all she said was "yeah". No goodbye, thanks for your service, have a good day... nothing. In my opinion do yourself a favour (especially if you have curly hair) and go ANYWHERE ELSE! Terrible standards.

I found Heartwood on the web as I was looking for hair and makeup for my wedding for me, my wedding party and mom's which totaled about 12 people. They were so accommodating for such a large wedding party, responding to emails and answering all my questions. They came to the hotel where we were getting ready for a small travel fee. We were on a pretty tight timeline for so many people, and they worked right on schedule and the makeup and hair was beautiful. I was nervous as I did not get a hair trial, but they did exactly what I wanted and for quite a reasonable price! The girls were friendly and brought everything with them. I would definitely recommend Heartwood & Co. for your wedding needs!

Ok, I have mixed feelings. I had an apmnt this past Sat, Dec 14, 2019 for a wash/blow dry/style for a Christmas party I was going to that evening. I met with Maggie for the first time. She was super friendly and great to chat with and had some good haircare tips for me. I was very happy with how my hair looked when she was done until I got to the reception counter to pay. I was charged $75 for her services that took less that 45 minutes. I was kind of in shock and thought maybe there was a mistake and the reception thought I had also had my hair cut. But no, that was the cost and the girl at reception was not apologetic or empathetic to me at all. She just said that is what it costs! Well I have never paid over $40 for a wash/blowout anywhere in Victoria ever! And I always get maybe a flat iron or a few curls, nothing major. I usually pay $65 now to have my hair washed, cut, dried, and styled and I have med to long hair. I was thinking I would go back to Maggie and maybe become one of her new clients as she is try to build her clientele due to just moving to Victoria but at that price there is no way I would or could afford that! Unfortunately I will not be able to recommend her but will let people know how much I was charged. It's too bad because she was very nice and did a good job with my hair. Sad to give a poor review but maybe I will hear back from the salon or Maggie and hear their thoughts on my review. Regards, Jacki
