I adore Helen, even if she still doesn't remember me although I'm a repeat customer (4+ times). Oddly enough, she does remember my clothes - just not me. I guess it's because I'm Asian. Wait, no, shut up, you racist.

#1 reason why Helen is great. Her dry cleaning prices are incredibly reasonable.

#2 reason. She's good at what she does. Point out the stain. She'll ask you what it was. Despite answers like, "uhm. I don't know," she removes them from delicate fabrics like silk.

I can't comment as to the quality of her tailoring. To be honest, I get all that done in LA, but yay for finally finding someone to trust with my dry cleaning!

Professional, kind, also incredibly affordable. Helen did an excellent job removing wine stains from one jacket and stitching a tear in another jacket, all for $30. Helen is a kind and generous lady. Highly highly recommend.

Helen is the best wardrobe helper I've ever found/met. I've lived in NYC, LA, Philadelphia, and SF, and I've tried a lot of dry cleaners, most with obscene prices for shoddy work / unimpressive results. Helen is the opposite - her prices are very reasonable, and she's very responsible, responsive, and careful to point out what she CAN do and what she cannot. She is the epitome of "under-promise and over-deliver."

I almost didn't want to write this review because I do not want the secret to get out!

Her spot is a bit hard to find - you go into an office building and take the elevator down to the parking level, and her shop is in a small alcove in this parking garage. It's not street level and there are no signs, so you have to go on a bit of a journey to find her.

I would love to use Helen more, but the one single issue I have is that post-Covid, her hours have become quite shortened. Pre-Covid, it was ~8am to 2pm every weekday, but now it is on Monday and Wednesday, 8 to 1pm. So she has very short hours and it is difficult to make that time if you don't work nearby. My office moved from SF proper to the suburbs, and I refuse to seek out another dry cleaner, so I am now forced to try to work around Helen's hours. Oh well. I just bite the bullet and do it because it's too hard to find another gem like Helen!

She knows her stuff and does a good job. She's also very thorough and transparent in explaining the work she's going to do to your garments when making alterations -- she clearly communicated that she didn't have the same stitch as my dress so it might look a little different. I didn't mind because it's in an area nobody sees. It came out very well despite her warning!

WOW, I'm so glad I found Helen's Place. My daughter's wedding dress was badly stained on the bottom from walking (and being dragged on the floor) during the wedding. I researched to find a dry cleaner who is experienced and affordable. I spoke to Helen on the phone, then later brought the dress in for Helen to check. After examining the dress, she told me that it will be difficult to clean since it was badly stained and dirty, and they need to be careful not to damage the beadwork. She said they will test clean a spot with a new chemical to see how well it works and to provide me a firm quote after testing. I'm so pleased to say that the dress was cleaned and available for pick-up ahead of schedule. It looked LIKE NEW! OMG, and the the cost was 50% less than the competitor! Helen is a professional with many years of experience, communicates well, and the dry clean service is excellent. I highly recommend! She will be my "go-to" dry cleaner from now on. Thank you Helen for the fantastic service! My daughter will be so happy!

Tip for finding Helen's Place: It's located at 505 Montgomery (at Sacramento), SF. When you enter the building, take the elevator to the garage parking (press P), or ask the security guard on duty to direct you. Turn Left as you exit the elevator.

Helen is an angel!

I came in with a ball gown that needed dry cleaning and she told me the bead work might make it difficult to dry clean. She took extra care to make sure I knew the process might damage some of the beads, and told me that she would do a test treatment to see if they could handle being dry cleaned before she did the whole dress. You can tell she takes a lot of pride and care in what she's doing. My dress ended up fine, just one bead fell out and she saved it for me in a little bag. I'd trust Helen with any of my dry cleaning needs in the future!

Helen is sweet and responsive and the cleaning service she provides is top notch, and her prices can't be beat.

Helen is incredibly sweet and professional. For the past year, I have really cut down on clothing shopping, so it's been my priority to find someone who would take good care of our dry-clean only garments. We simply don't have stacks of back-up outfits, so I was relieved to see that Helen is the lady I can trust! I was so impressed when she saw that I was a new customer- it's clear that she values her patrons. As she inspected each clothing, she noted areas to treat and emptied out the pockets. Together, we found random napkins and such.

Helen was able to lift a stain from my dress pants and freshen up my husband's suits. We look forward to bringing our dry cleaning to her-- and returning the wire hangers each time.

I don't think there's anything Helen CAN'T do. Rip in your (faux) snakeskin purse? Helen's got it. Want to chop off three inches of your Everlane crop wide leg because they're super not cropped on you? Don't worry, Helen can do it.

From dry cleaning to alterations to patching up every crotch area of the jeans I keep ripping sitting cross-legged, Helen has been my clothing savior. A one-woman show, her pricing is a steal (cash only) and her turnaround time is stellar. To get there, pop into the office building on Montgomery and head downstairs to the parking garage and swing a left. It's a perfect spot for those who work in the FiDi and need to get things in and out. Give Helen some love!

If you can find it, this place is awesome. Just go into the Latham and Watkins building and into the small elevator on the left into the basement. You should be able to find it from there.

I never did anything fancier than having a pair of pants sowed, but Helen always got the job done, and it was quite cheap.

She is extremely friendly and always anxious for more business.
