Hengehold Trucks

Professional staff, clean and well running vans easy rent and return process. I worked with Dee and Armando. Both gave me 5 star service on the rental and return. Hengehold is legit. The fleet is near new, the resevations are guaranteed, the daily insurance of $12.95 is reasonable. Absolutely no reason to rent a truck or van from anywhere else. Yes their daily rate is more than the $19.95 guys but their milage rate is cheaper. If you value your time and want to avoid a headache in the rental process, Hengehold is the way to go.

My Burning Man camp has now rented trucks through Hengehold twice, and have had great experiences each time. They are kind, reasonable, and helpful. Special shout-out to Matt, Dee, and Armando, all of whom were responsive, professional, and great to work with.

The trucks we rented were reliable and in good shape. We have had less than great experiences with other truck rental companies (rude, losing reservations, trucks not in great shape), so I'm so glad we found Hengehold.

Look, there are just those moments in life when a full size pickup truck will solve all your problems. I for one would love to own a truck (especially a 70's Datsun, but that is a story for another time) but its just not in the cards for a variety of reasons.

That 90" LCD you need to bring back from Costco? WOOT WOOT Free compost from the transfer station? That mattress again from Costco that wont fit in your MDX? Garbage run? Landscaping bark, rock, etc in bulk? Helping someone move? All of those are true stories of mine (well except the 90" LCD but a guy can dream) and all of them required the use of a full sized pickup.

That's where Hengehold comes in. They offer truck rentals from full size pickup trucks to huge panel trucks. Basically more trucks than you can shake a stick at. The pickup trucks which are the subject of this review are a fantastic deal IMHO. You can rent for 24 hours (or more) or for us we often do the same day rental as we seldom need it more than that. You pick it up in the am and return before they close. It saves you typically $10 off the rental. $10 bucks is $10 bucks. Some other national places advertise a lower daily rate, but they charge way more per mile, often only have 1-2 trucks for rental (thus sold out) and its a crap shoot if they are giving a good truck or a klunker.

The trucks are well maintained and all feature automatic transmissions. The staff is super friendly and efficient getting you in and out quickly.

Something I like about Hengehold is that they're a single location. They're not passing problematic trucks between locations, which I've experienced before from the other guys. They do a majority of their own maintenance and know the history of their trucks.

They also guarantee your rental - Which is something that you really want to count on when it comes time to move big heavy stuff. Instead of renting from somewhere else and finding out that you have to go to 3 more locations to track down a smaller truck while your army of friends that you've asked to help sit around waiting.

If you let them know what type of stuff you're moving, they'll suggest a truck that fits your needs. I've been a happy customer for 15+ years.

I just bought an amazing 2012 Ford Transit Connect Mini Cargo Van - Refrigerated from Hengehold Trucks! Matt went above and beyond to ensure there were no gaps in my experience. He emailed me a copy of the manual for my records as well as mailed me a custom cable for the Reefer to facilitate refrigeration instead of running my gas!

Thanks Matt! I'll be back should I need to buy or rent another Reefer in the future :)

What you see is what you get. No lies, no filler, no fluff. Great company to work with. My third time renting a truck and every time they seem to do a better job.

They answer the phone, EVERY SINGLE TIME. And it's the same person, Roger I think, and he remembers who I am when I call in.

I had an issue where I forgot how to use the lift gate. I called, he walked me through it, done.

Night time drop off is great, works with every possible schedule.

They top off the tank for free no matter how full it is returned. That means you get an extra half gallon or so as you drive off the lot. That's just one of those small things that they do to provide superior customer service.

Keep up the great work, I'll keep giving you all my money.

I was in the area on a job site so planned to stop by this dealership to look at a Ram van I found on their Craigslist ad. I looked around the lot and wasn't greeted which was okay with me. I eventually found the van and walked into the office where I asked Steve to help me... he was friendly and gave me the key and surprisingly didn't go along for the ride.

So there's no negotiation on price from what Steve said and I can respect that. But I honestly felt like he didn't want my business. It's unfortunate because I was hoping to make a relationship as my business is growing and will need to replace other vans in a year. Maybe if I worked with the guy from across from Steve things could have been much different as he was extremely enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the product
