Heritage Painting & Decorating

It was a pleasure working with David and Heritage Painting. They did a terrific job, from start to finish, on the room I was having painted in my new house. David was quick to respond to my inquiries, and was always punctual -- both qualities that I've found to be rare with contractors, construction and home installation companies. He uses good quality paint (Benjamin Moore) and doesn't cut corners, yet can get a room that needs four coats done in an afternoon. The quality of the work was very good. I also felt the price was reasonable.

I've always done the painting in my house myself, but this time just didn't have it in me to get four coats on the walls the day before we moved in. I figured it could go either way -- either the work would be worse (or at least not any better) than what I could do, or it would be much better. Fortunately, it was the latter. I'm planning to hire Heritage again to cover up some of the other odd colour choices the previous owner made.

From our first meeting with David to the end of our construction deficiencies, Heritage has been absolutely incredible to work with. David's quote was fair and thorough, he also had no problem coming back multiple times to quote further when I decided to increase the scope of the work. He was easy to schedule with and always showed up when they said they would. All of the crew members who worked at our house were clean, polite and hard working, always leaving the jobsite clean at the end of the day. David also comes to the site regularly himself to check on progress and quality which is always appreciated. Highly recommend Heritage, you will not be disappointed!

So impressed.. HIRE THESE PEOPLE!!! I can highly recommend Heritage. David was quick to respond with a reasonable quote. I had a small wallpaper job. The installer, Rodrigo arrived on time, was fast, respectful, cleaned up after he was done & did an excellent job. I am very happy with the quality of the work & the attention to detail (I am a such stickler for small details). On top of that I noticed they provide a 5year guarantee. In the past, I have had my share of shotty service jobs in my home with other companies, so much so that I have been primed to expect the worst; but this was an absolute delight for a change. A rare gem.

I couldn't be happier! I met with the owner (David) in early July and decided to go ahead with some much-needed refinishing of my exterior window and door frames. Fortunately for me the good weather had put his crew ahead of schedule. They were very hard working, pleasant to have around and always left the site clean at the end of the day. From start to finish, David was easy to reach by phone and visited the site every day to assure that the work was being done to my standards. I will be hiring them again for interior work, now that I have had such a positive experience. I don't understand the negative review I read; I have dealt with lots of trades over the years and Heritage is 'top drawer'.

I needed a painter for my lil bldg, and decided to try heritage painting through the reviews at yelp. Dave was exceptionally good, and very professional. Like the other reviewer says, he was very polite, quick in response for quoting and starting the work, always punctual, he worked around our demanding schedules, he was fast, and the work that he did was good quality. He was also very patient and understanding with certain strata issues we encountered. It was a pleasure hiring Dave, I wish all contractors were like him! I would hire him again in a heartbeat.

The work Heritage Painters did for us has definitely stood the test of time. Three years later we are still very pleased with the interior paint job they did. They worked quickly, paying attention to detail, and did a number of little extras. We would absolutely hire them again.

Recommended to me by BM paint store and extremely disappointed with workmanship and customer relations/bad attitude. Would never use again or refer friends/family to use them to as they cut corners to maximize profit on a job, did not complete work as previously discussed, and do it hoping no one will notice or say anything. In my view, that's the worst kind of trades person to do business with because they clearly put profits before pride in their work.

Buyer beware. We did find a great painter afterward to come to extra work and touch ups. This person cleaned up Heritage Painting's mess.

Some highlights: crooked cut lines with paint on the ceiling--never volunteering to fix it but leaving it, crap rollers that left an orange peel finish (said they'd sand in between coats but don't think that was done) and then going back on what was agreed -- rather than two coats of paint , the painter painted one thick coat instead insisting that was all that was needed for the fee estimate quoted. The guy also painted right over expensive wall frame hooks we purchased from Opus rather than pull them out and put them back. If we ever remove or move them, I am sure it will take paint off and leave a horrible mark. At the end, when I insisted on the job be completed as discussed (we talked about the nails being removed and put back and that wasn't done among other things), the owner proceeded to retort in a condescending tone, "I didn't know you were the expert." And "We paint lots of million dollar homes, and do this all the time." Buddy- every home in Vancouver is worth a million these days, so your bragging doesn't say much. I do NOT recommend them. If you do work with them, get everything in writing confirming the project.

David and his crew were absolutely great. I was delighted with the job that Jim did repairing my bathroom walls, which I thought were beyond repair when I removed the decades-old wallpaper. You'd never know what a mess I faced, now that Jim repaired and painted. They were completely professional, hugely skilled and the price was fair. Can't ask for more than that! I'm recommending David's company now to friends.
