Came here for snacks and drinks before a night out. Definitely a dive bar vibe with people playing pool. My cousins and I sat on the high table. I think it's funny that you order food by the literal kitchen while you order drinks at the bar like normal. The walls were decorated in 2010s swag-era photos.

We got a large seasoned fries and ten pieces of wings. For wings, we got spicy buffalo and honey garlic butter.

The fries were crispy and tasted good. They were medium-sized.

For the wings, they were quite big! I like to eat my wings while wearing gloves so my hands don't get messy; I went to the kitchen to ask for some, and they look a bit amused. The flavors that we got balanced each other out. The sweetness of the honey garlic butter wings was tasty, and the spicy buffalo had a good kick.

We washed these down with beers. Overall great food!

Three years ago, my wife and I found this incredible spot in San Francisco, but because we're clearly memory champions, we totally forgot its name. Fast forward to our recent trip--after a long flight, my wife Yelps for food and lands on "The Hidden Spot." We walk in and, like a plot twist in a sitcom, realize it's the same place we loved years ago.

The food? Still ridiculously good. The burger is juicy, with fresh toppings and a bun that's got its life together. The fried chicken sandwich? Crispy, flavorful perfection.

So, if you're in San Francisco, don't sleep on The Hidden Spot. And if you forget the name like we did? Don't worry--you'll probably stumble back eventually!

This place's food is great, my favorite is the Turkey Charm with an order of tator tots!

Its moderately priced, and I would suggest picking up in person (so you can have a drink while you wait). I like the bar too, Hometown Heroes has been a visit spot of mine for a long time and the staff there are great.

NOTE: parking is a little challenging, pro tip, you can easily park at the Miller Avenue garage and walk down to the place, again its located IN THE BAR. Also parking on Linden Avenue if you can find an open green or yellow zone spot.

It's not obvious that this is a sandwich place from the outside. Go inside and get a sandwich. Thank me later.

The sandwiches here are huge and delicious, more than a little messy in the "omg this sauce is amazing" way.

Also, get tater tots, not fries.

I'm a big fan of chicken wings, and this Honey Garlic Butter Chicken Wing is something else... 10/10, strongly recommended!

Very solid spot to get wings. Got the honey garlic and the MVP wings. Comparison to San Tung are a bit exaggerated IMO but I've been eating San tung wings for a few decades so I'm probably a little biased. Taste wise the wings are fried well. Have a nice crisp and have a good crunch when you bite into them even though they were takeout and didn't get eaten until maybe 20 mins after pickup. Sauce is probably a 3/5 when compared to San tung exact flavor but the MvP wings are solid. Good sweetness with a little spice. Not very spicy for me but it has a little. The honey garlic are good for the non spicy eaters and have a nice salty sweet taste.

Service wise I ordered online and came in to pick up. Food was ready when I got there so no issues with the staff. They were taking a few orders and they were friendly and giving recommendations to people who haven't been before.

Location wise it is inside hometown heroes bar and at the end of the bar. It's a bar so pretty low light inside for the bar vibe but they had a few bar tops to eat at or you could eat at the bar as well. Didn't visit the bar spot but probably a good place to take in a game, grab a drink and get a bite.

Food was cooked well and tasted good. Would be back when craving wings. While not exactly the same as San tung a much easier trek and parking to subside the wing cravings.

This place is just okay. We went after much anticipation and the chicken sandwich was undercooked which was disappointing. It looked raw in the cross section at a couple of bites, and it definitely could've just been this particular day. The hottie totties were really good with the crispy tater tots complimenting the sriracha and mayo perfectly. In all, I would recommend for the portions etc, but given the price, I was not pleased with the fact that the chicken was undercooked.

True to their name, they really are a hidden spot because it was so easy to walk past their shop. I got the 'past' sandwich which is a fitting name. The sandwich was a little dry but the flavors were good. The vibes are nice and homey. The guy serving was helpful in giving recommendations. Next time I'll get a burger because my friend said it was nice and juicy.

The hidden spot is a hidden gem within downtown South City. It's the perfect for a quick but filling meal and is great if you're looking for a casual place to dine.

The hottie totties were really good. The tater tots were crispy and warm and the mayo and sriracha added a great flavor. The Ruby could have used more buffalo sauce but it was still great! The mild spiciness was not enough for me so I will be getting a the hotter sauce next time. The Empire was definitely a spicy sandwich from the habanero. The chicken was good and the Dutch crunch was crunchy.

There's also a bar and pool table and plenty of seating as a smaller location. I've been here a couple times and it's never too crowded or empty.

      Updated review

I decided to give this place another try because I wanted to know if my last experience was just an "off" day.

      It was not.

I brought my brother, and he wanted to give it 2 stars.

Here's the thing: the environment is chill and the guy who does both the cashier and bar seemed hip, it's just that the food isn't up to par.

We both had the POW Waygu burger. Such a dissapointment with the meat not being seasoned and juts tasting, like, well, cooked plain burger meat. I think this is what dog's taste when they have ground beef with their kibble. The bacon was not crispy and just was a chewy mess. I just wasted $20 on a burger that I didn't like with a soggy untoasted brioche bun.

My brother ate his burger and said we could have saved money by going to ANY other burger place instead.

So that was $40 down the drain for 2 burgers, but waut it gets worse! $8 and $7 for the small fries and small onion rings. Again with crappy frozen freezer fries with no flavor and frozen crappy onion rings. Waste of around $16 and again lukewarm.

This place keeps on dissapointing, and now I know it's not just me because my brother isn't a picky eater, and yet he disliked this place.

This is the last time I'm giving Hidden Spot the benefit of a doubt. Bland burgers, lukewarm fries and onion rings with no flavor for around $70 with tax!
