Do the curries contain fish sauce or is there a way to get them without?

I don't work in this restaurant but just answering your question in general terms. Curry powders or curry sauce are very common in Asia, specifically southeast and east Asia. Curries are usually made of aromatics from cumin, ginger, onion, garlic… more

Delicious, finally closed to Thailand.......I've ordered from DoorDash a few times and I didn't realize that I actually drive by the location almost everyday. It's not situated in the best area, more of a small Latino complex. I finally did a pick up once. Yes it's a hole in a wall place. My daughter loves Radna (she doesn't know the name, but remember how it looks like/taste). She always raved it, she said' this is my favorite, best food ever'. Lol...
It's funny how hard to find Radna (Thai ride flat noodle with soybean gravy) around here. There's radna everywhere in SoCal or some SF Thai restaurants. Their dishes are delicious, also liking the menu. My other fav is Thai chicken rice which is also difficult to find here....odd, it's like a staple Thai casual food and on the healthier side. I wished they use chicken thighs not breast which both daughter and I not crazy about, a bit hard to bit. Sauce needs to be improved little bit. I also love Ba Mie Heng, portion is also on the asian side. It's not a huge suburb portion that means for sharing. I would say Thai Homey becoming my favorite Thai food in the hood. I hope their business will expand and maybe move to a better location, they deserved it!!!Helpful 0Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - Kaitlyn G.Olancha, CA04Aug 7, 2024
My boyfriend was craving Drunken Noodles and we wanted to try a new Thai spot in the area.
We are so happy we ended up at Homey! He got his Drunken noodles, of course, and I ordered ginger pork. Flavors were excellent on both dishes. We both completely cleared our plates.
John was our server. Extremely attentive and friendly. He is the owner with his wife, who is the chef.
Quaint but cheerful and inviting inside. John mentioned they are still fairly new, only opened last October.
Ordered kao mun gai to go, plus had fried banana and ice cream for dessert, and a beer and sticky rice. Three entrees plus the other three items came out to $65. Super fair pricing, especially for the quality and great flavors.
Will definitely be back again to try more items! I have my eye on the crispy trout and green curry.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 0 - Julie C.Pittsburg, CA025Jul 28, 2024Updated review
My husband and I are regulars here! We enjoy the food, service, and the overall vibes. Our favorite dish hands down is the crispy trout!
We are making it a goal to try each dish and each time we have - the food is delicious!
A big shout out to the staff even on days they were short of folks, they greeted us with smiles and checked in on us.Helpful 0Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0Nov 11, 2023Previous reviewThe name speaks for itself.
Food feels very "homey" and comforting.
Pad Thai was DELICIOUS!
Pumpkin Curry was also delicious - very creamy and a nice balance of savory and sweet.
Crispy Trout was soooooo good too! Perfect amount of crisp and garnished so well.
Fried Banana with Coconut Ice Cream was to die for. Lol
We are definitely coming back.
The workers are also the sweetest! Thank you guys! - 2778082231Jul 27, 20241 check-in
Need to come back here ASAP :3 My bf and I happened upon Homey Thai Bistro while in town. Total hole in the wall. Need to check them out if you're in Concord.
Located near the local Costco. Area is a little sketch but food is worth the danger ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Dude running front of house was a machine, welcoming folks and running orders and attending to diners without missing a beat (maybe was the owner?). Respect the hustle
FISH CAKES: Ooo this sauce is decked out. My bf loved these. They're light, chewy, and surprisingly very filling. Couldn't eat more than a few bites as I wanted to save space for my entree.
KHAO MUN GAI: Wooow I used to be obsessed with Rooster and Rice when I was in SF, haven't had a solid stewed chicken dish in a minute. THAT SOUP IS IMPECCABLE. Imagine the sweetest, most fragrant broth, infused with rich spices and chicken flavor-- THIS IS THAT. The bowl should be bigger. I was dipping my chicken and rice in that liquid gold. The chicken is good too, ok. Comes with a plum (?) dipping sauce, but I was too enamored with the soup to bother.
My bf's Tom Yum Fried rice was received equally well; loooots of love for the massive amount of seafood. The portions are incredible for the price.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 0 - 3362211541Aug 21, 20241 check-in
I wished their drunken noodles was a little more squishy & more basil.. but it's decent. They get 4 stars para their service staff was so nice to suggest me check on my car as I left my headlights on. Caring staff ! Ambiance is a cute lil mom & pop vibe with some cute lil Lauv -type jams. I'd come back if I lived nearby!

This has got to be better than our usual spot that me and my coworker usually go to and I am so sad that we are JUST now discovering this location. It is SUPER small and they do have a outside seating, but not in this heat wave - LOL! I honestly wanted to try another location by us because there is just SO many places to try around the Concord/Pleasant Hill area.
Me and my coworker came in during lunch and let me tell YOU! The food here is TOP TIER! We usually go to Koon Thai on the opposite side of Concord, but EXTREMELY happy we came here instead. Definitely #1 in my books for Thai food in Contra Costa.
Papaya Salad - 9/10 The bits of lime in this made such a huge difference, especially with the spices they had in here. The salad is spicy, but I'd describe it like regular hot cheetos spicy LOL
Fire Wings - 10/10 These wings were fried PERFECTLY and juice. Sauce was spicy too, but eating it with the papaya salad was the perfect combo.
Lunch Pad Thai - 10/10 The FLAVOR is it was FIRE!!! The perfect savory and sour. I like a little kick of tart in my Pad Thai and they are FRIENDLY with the portions
Lunch Ground Beef Basil- 10/10 Anytime I order beef basil, I never get much veggies on it or none at all besides basil. Both lunch dishes are big enough to share with each other to try everything out.
10/10 ALL AROUND for me here! It definitely a hole in the wall you will not be disappointed by at all.Helpful 1Thanks 2Love this 2Oh no 0 - Arcie C.Concord, CA0143Aug 22, 2024
Yelp gave high reviews for food quality. Food was just "meh". Absolutely no atmosphere, tiny place in not so great location. Scary after dark ?? Service friendly but price's med to high. Two people = 2 appetizers, soup, 2 main courses, tea and beer = $85 with tip $100. Actually now that I think about it that's probably low. Sorry, I will not be coming back

Hello YELP it's me again. I just needed to tell everyone that the papaya salad is the best I've ever had. I've had a lot BAD papaya salads in my life and I've always been on a hunt for a good one. Hands down the most flavorful one. Great balance and GOOOOOOD flavor. 10/10, do yourself a favor now and order the papaya salad.

Mar 28, 2024Previous reviewHole in the wall Thai restaurant. Traditional flavors that hit all the right notes. I've been to tons of Thai restaurants all over the United States and this place is by far one of the greatest of all time. Reasonably priced and dishes pack a huge punch. Don't let the decor or location fool you, this place is worth checking out. I've been here twice in the past 2 weeks lol. Servers are always nice and food comes out PIPING HOT. Pro tip, ask for dishes spicier if you can hang and ask for with the spice rack to add an extra kick!

We grabbed takeout from here recently and were pleasantly surprised by Homey Thai!
Takeout process was quick and easy and service was friendly. We ordered a chicken yellow curry and a pumpkin curry, roti with curry sauce, and a side of sticky rice. The yellow curry was delicious - tender chicken, super flavorful, and good amount of potatoes and carrots. My boyfriend loved his pumpkin curry and said everything in the curry was plentiful.
Will definitely be back to try the pad see ew and more of the menu :)Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 3Oh no 0 - Apr 5, 2024
I had a moment to be able to check this place out. It is located pretty close to my home and my favorite thai place recently closed this year. I got the chicken satay, red chicken curry and a beer. The service was friendly and quick and I love the blue colored walls inside. The chicken satay was very tasty and the curry was thicker than I expected but was very good. There are a lot of other items I want to try. I also appreciate that they don't use fish sauce as I am allergic to it.

It's a hole in the wall that you NEED to try. Food is super flavorful, haven't ordered anything I didn't like yet. Portions are great along with prices. Kylie, the owner, is so warm and friendly! Inside is clean and their service is quick.
