      do not buy a car here!!! i was stuck with over 5000 in repairs a month after purchasing a car here. the car had 29,000 miles on it. we were promised help but never received it. the manager was very very rude and disrespectful. every person at the dealership was lieing to us to buy time so that we would eventually break down and fix it ourselves. please dont waste your time and go somewhere else whatever you do. reach out to me if you have any questions 9167897845

      They were very unprofessional did not give me any numbers until till we entered the finance office and the numbers did not match what was verbally discussed on the floor then the finance manager Steve insulted us by calling us losers,.terrible customer service very unprofessional

      I've bought two cars from Marin Honda beginning in 2003, and with 2 exceptions due to time restrictions, I've always taken both cars here for service and repair.
      Hondas are so reliable that I've only had to do a few necessary repairs in the last 20 years. The staff has overall be professional and really helpful; my review is no reflection on the quality of their outstanding work.

      Apparently as of two years ago, new management bought Honda Marin and now requires a significant "pre-inspection fee" for all service now, and these fees are not applied to the final bill for labor and parts. I accepted the first $150 pre-inspection fee a few months ago on a minor replacement repair because my car was already in the shop for a major tune-up, but when they demanded $375 for a pre-inspection fee this month to recharge the air conditioner with refrigerant on my 20-year old Accord EX, it was a ridiculously greedy overreach that marked the end of the road with Honda Marin. I got it done for less than $250 at a transmission/AC shop in San Rafael.

      My family and friends have all stopped buying cars from Marin Honda and taking them to Marin Honda Repair, and now I understand why. I may well buy another Honda, but I'll take it to another shop for service and repair.

      This is not about the car. The salesperson and the sales manager who helped me on April 19th were amazing. I was able to get a decent deal on my 2023 Accord.

      However, the finance part of the deal was awful. I agreed to the extended 84 month 100K mile warranty. When I got home, I read the contract, and decided it had too many negative aspects about it. Also, I wasn't informed about the $100 deductible that I have to pay every time the vehicle had to be serviced. I cancelled it on May 10th.

      Long story short, I called multiple times to check up on my refund and the finance manager Gavin was not helpful at all. At one point, he told me never to call him again and call my bank to deal with the refund. This was around July 17th. I received the actual refund July 27th (78 days later).

      General manager Jim called me around the day my lienholder received the check to let me know the process, and why it took so long receive, and why I shouldn't have purchased it if I was planning on cancelling. I cancelled it because the extended warranty contract was deceptive (didn't tell me anything about $100 deductible per service) & service contract warranty had too many exclusions when it comes to services and repairs.

      Lesson learned: I will never purchase an extended car warranty ever. In my view, it's a total scam only to benefit the dealer and the finance manager. I will never do business here again. Please do some due diligence and DON'T BUY YOUR CAR HERE. STAY AWAY!

      Initially, my car-buying experience was excellent; Sam, the manager, was professional, and Giovanni was helpful that he even offered to pick me up from a rental car service. However, my experience took a negative turn when I started dealing with Max in financing. I felt pressured to purchase unnecessary warranties. he misled me regarding the SWAT system, insisting that it was mandatory to purchase because it wasn't included, despite my knowing from the test drive that it was included for three years. After a long and tiring session, he casually mentioned that I could change my mind about the other warranties he had pushed.

      A week later, on Monday, I called to cancel the unnecessary extra warranty, but he told me to call back on Friday. When I did, he asked me to come in on Saturday to sign the paperwork, promising that a two month credit will be applied the following week. After no updates, I called a week later and left a message, but received no response. It seemed like a deliberate strategy to wear me down. When I finally reached him to ask why the credit had appeared on my account, he said I needed to make two payments first. Dealing with him has been extremely frustrating due to the poor customer service and his lack of timely responses.

      It seems too good to be true, but I'm hopeful that I'll finally receive the credit for the cancellation I've been attempting to secure. After a week of persistent requests, I finally obtained proof of the cancellation. If this doesn't resolve as promised, I am prepared to pursue legal action.

      - Honda Marin -

      I am a careful consumer and write very few reviews. However, I had a very positive experience purchasing a Honda Pilot from Honda Marin.

      I researched and we test drove other cars (BMW and Volkswagen) and we decided on Honda as being superior in quality, value, warranty and included service.

      Next I researched ALL of the Honda dealers in the greater Bay Area. On my first call I was connected with Mike Grellman. He inspired confidence and we went to the dealership, where we met our salesman Manny Dealba.

      Manny showed us the models we were interested in, thoroughly explained the features each of the two models we decided upon offered. Then, Manny went over the features available on each model. In total, Manny spent several hours (maybe a full day) going over this major purchase with us and was polite and patient all the way through.

      Gary Sandhu handled the financing component. I put a large amount down and we were quoted and signed documents for a particular interest rate on a holiday weekend through Honda Financing. A few days after completing the deal, Gary emailed me to inform me that Honda Financing had approved me for a lower rate which reduced the monthly payment by about $45 a month for the same term. He didn't have to do that, but he did.

      I have purchased many cars in my lifetime but give Honda Marin and each of the people I have mentioned the highest marks.

      I know where to go to buy my next Honda. I will literally drive by the Honda dealership in my city on the way to Honda Marin.

      1. Highly recommend if you are a MALE shopping for a car. My husband and I (a female) emphasized many times that we are looking for a car for me, who will drive it daily and pay the bill. They ignored it, and all the mail and email I received either only had my husband's name or listed him as the primary person.

      2. Lie no.1 When we first visit, we told the salesperson that we were browsing and not buying yet. He pressured us to fill out information, assuring us it wouldn't affect our credit. Later, we discovered that it was a lie, confirmed by their sales manager. (I wish the sales manager was our salesperson. At least he is honest) Before we left, he lied AGAIN. He asked me to sign a paper for making a copy of my driver's license for the test drive. It turned out to be a consent to do a credit score pull. Lie with bad skills...

      3. Lie no.2 We were told that the vehicle could be remotely started via the Honda app, but after purchase, we found out this was not the case.

      I ignored the lies during the purchase process because the car I ended up buying fits all of my criteria. I am writing this review in the hope of helping others avoid the terrible discrimination experience and lies we encountered.
